    Exeter 1-0 Stevenage

Ed Francis' improvised close-range finish with his back to goal is the difference at the break at St James Park.

His second goal in as many games has the hosts on course for a seventh straight home win over Boro, who look a threat from balls into the area - kicked or thrown - but haven't really tested Joe Whitworth in the Grecians goal thus far.

The visitors have seen Charlie Goode limp off with an injury late in the first half too, with both physios involved in the action more than the strikers in the final 15 minutes, though Jack McMillan might have done better from Kami Doyle's cross deep into added time and he was crowded out by some good defending moments later too.

    Accrington 2-0 Port Vale

    Phil Sproson
Former Port Vale captain on BBC Radio Stoke

We've been second best. We haven't won enough headers and we haven't been closing them down enough. We are vulnerable down both flanks.

  3. HALF-TIMEpublished at 13:19 British Summer Time 21 September

    Accrington 2-0 Port Vale

Accrington lead Port Vale 2-0 at the break and they certainly deserve to be in front.

Shaun Whalley curled a beauty into the top corner before Donald Love headed home his first goal for the club.

Vale are without a win in seven previous EFL visits to Accrington, last coming out on top way back in 2010.

Could that record haunt them once more? A huge 45 minutes coming up for Darren Moore's side to try and turn this around.

  4. HALF-TIMEpublished at 13:18 British Summer Time 21 September

    Chesterfield 1-0 Cheltenham Town

A deserved lead for the home side and some sorting out to be done by Michael Flynn in the Cheltenham dressing room at half-time.

The home side struggled to retain possession in the early stages and Luke Young's early free-kick for the visitors gave them some encouragement but then it all rather disintegrated.

A defensive mix-up led to the concession of a cheap corner and eventually Chesterfield's James Berry waltzed his way past a couple of challenges before teeing-up Dilan Markanday for his second goal of the season.

Armando Dobra came to life for the home side in the closing 15 minutes, shooting wide and having another effort saved.

  5. HALF-TIMEpublished at 13:16 British Summer Time 21 September

    Lincoln 0-0 Wigan

No real chances to speak of, Dion Rankine's run and blocked-shot was probably the highlight for the visitors while Lincoln haven't really fashioned any openings at all.

The Cathedral looks lovely in the September sunshine, though.

    Chesterfield 1-0 Cheltenham Town

We are into three minutes of added time at the end of the first-half.

  7. YELLOW CARDpublished at 13:16 British Summer Time 21 September

    Lincoln 0-0 Wigan

Veteran Imps defender Adam Jackson goes into the book after being done for pace by the fleet-footed Joe Hugill in midfield and hauling his man back.

He was on a warning before that.

Could that be a factor in the second half?

  8. Postpublished at 13:14 British Summer Time 21 September

    Lincoln 0-0 Wigan

Spot of treatment for Lincoln's Ben House after a blow to the face.

He's mopped up (everyone wants a clean House, right?) and returns to the fray with a couple of wads of gauze up his nostrils like a prize fighter.

  9. Postpublished at 13:14 British Summer Time 21 September

    Accrington 2-0 Port Vale

    Phil Sproson
Former Port Vale captain on BBC Radio Stoke

The break can't come quickly enough for Darren Moore.

  10. Postpublished at 13:14 British Summer Time 21 September

    Chesterfield 1-0 Cheltenham Town

Cheltenham are creaking as first Chesterfield's Chey Dunkley is just unable to direct a header on target and then the home side's Armando Dobra shoots wide when well placed.

This looks like it has more goals to come...

  11. goal

GOAL Accrington 2-0 Port Valepublished at 13:13 British Summer Time 21 September

    Donald Love (43 mins)

    It's two!

A corner is floated in from the right-hand side and Accrington's Donald Love is completely unmarked eight yards out to power a header home.

Love scores his first goal for the club and what a time to get it.

Poor defending from Port Vale and it's a massive uphill task now.

  12. Postpublished at 13:12 British Summer Time 21 September

    Lincoln 0-0 Wigan

Lovely stuff from Wigan's former Chelsea prospect Dion Rankine who dribbles and jinks his way in from the right before working a shooting opportunity on his left, only for the ball to cannon up off a sliding defender for Zach Jeacock to claim gratefully near the angle of post and bar.

The deflection took the sting off it, without it that could well have been the opener.

  13. Postpublished at 13:10 British Summer Time 21 September

    Chesterfield 1-0 Cheltenham Town

The home side have their tails up after Dilan Markanday's opener.

From a Cheltenham perspective they only have themselves to blame as a defensive mix-up led to the concession of a corner and eventually the goal.

  14. Postpublished at 13:10 British Summer Time 21 September

    Exeter 1-0 Stevenage

As you might expect of a side chasing the game, Stevenage are pressing high and trying to apply pressure on the hosts.

A couple of long throws have caused the Grecians some trouble too. They probably want half-time to arrive.

  15. Postpublished at 13:09 British Summer Time 21 September

    Accrington 1-0 Port Vale

    Phil Bowers
    BBC Radio Stoke

Vale have got to try something different as plan A, at the moment, isn't working.

  16. Postpublished at 13:08 British Summer Time 21 September

    Lincoln 0-0 Wigan

Former Norway youth international Thelo Aasgaard is pulling the strings in the middle for Wigan, he loves taking the ball on the half-turn and has come in for a bit of treatment already, winning three free-kicks thus far with his quick feet.

Not much in the way of goalmouth action after that 10-minute purple patch midway through the half though, it must be said.

  17. Postpublished at 13:06 British Summer Time 21 September

    Accrington 1-0 Port Vale

There tends to be plenty of goals when Accrington are involved and today is looking like it will be no different.

Stanley’s six and almost a half League Two fixtures so far have now seen 21 goals at an average of around three a game.

Only Newport County have been involved in more goals (23).

    Entertainment.

  18. Postpublished at 13:06 British Summer Time 21 September

    Accrington 1-0 Port Vale

    Phil Bowers
    BBC Radio Stoke

This one is maybe not the walkover that Vale fans had predicted. It's not a gimme and it certainly hasn't been so far.

  19. Postpublished at 13:04 British Summer Time 21 September

    Exeter 1-0 Stevenage

    Dean Thompson
    BBC Three Counties Radio commentator

    It's not great is it?

First half an hour, six shots, none on target.

Stevenage just haven't looked on it from an attacking perspective.

  20. CLOSE!published at 13:04 British Summer Time 21 September

    Exeter 1-0 Stevenage

How are Exeter not 2-0 up?

Kami Doyle threads the ball through perfectly for Josh Magennis who spins in the box and fires in a shot which creeps just past Murphy Mahoney's upright.

    A let-off for Boro.
