    Chesterfield 1-0 Cheltenham

    Mark Halliwell
    BBC Radio Gloucestershire summariser

It was a preventable corner, terrible corner given away, and a terrible back pass.

They couldn't get the tackle in on Berry in the penalty area, and Markanday gets it in from six yards out.

  2. Postpublished at 13:01 British Summer Time 21 September

    Lincoln 0-0 Wigan

A loose clearance from Latics keeper Sam Tickle is pounced upon by the Imps, Ben House is played in down the left but though he drifts into the box and works a yard for a shot, his effort cannons off a defender and away.

  3. goal

GOAL Accrington 1-0 Port Valepublished at 13:00 British Summer Time 21 September

    Shaun Whalley (29 mins)

What a goal from Shaun Whalley to put Accrington 1-0 up!

A corner comes in and the ball breaks to the striker inside the box.

He cuts inside from the left before unleashing a fantastic curling strike into the far corner.

Connor Ripley had absolutely no chance in the Port Vale goal.

  4. CLOSE!published at 12:58 British Summer Time 21 September

    Exeter 1-0 Stevenage

Close to a second for the Grecians. Ed Francis is teed-up by Jack McMillan but his effort is blocked by the chest of a Boro defender, the ball drops to Pierce Sweeney but Murphy Mahoney in the Stevenage goal is equal to his effort.

  5. goal

    Dilan Markanday (27 mins)

The home side get their noses in front.

James Berry weaves his way into the Cheltenham box before cutting the ball back for Blackburn loanee Dilan Markanday to finish easily.

  6. Postpublished at 12:55 British Summer Time 21 September

    Exeter 1-0 Stevenage

Another Stevenage corner, another Harvey White delivery and another Carl Piergianni header, this time it flies past the upright rather than over the bar.

Stevenage are seeking to end a nine-month winless run on their travels, remember.

  7. YELLOW CARDpublished at 12:53 British Summer Time 21 September

    Chesterfield 0-0 Cheltenham Town

Chesterfield's Tom Naylor is the first player into the book as he fouls the visitors' Joel Colwill. It's a deserved yellow card but it prevented Cheltenham getting away on a dangerous break.

I believe that is called 'taking one for the team'.

  8. CLOSE!published at 12:53 British Summer Time 21 September

    Lincoln 0-0 Wigan

Down the other end and Tendayi Darikwa has the first sight of goal for Lincoln, firing in low from the right but Wigan keeper Sam Tickle gathers low down.

How Darikwa would like a goal against his former club today!

No more weather chat. This game is alive and kicking.

  9. Postpublished at 12:52 British Summer Time 21 September

    Accrington 0-0 Port Vale

And now Port Vale work a good opening of their own. Lorent Tolaj is slipped in down the left and fires a decent effort towards goal but it's straight at Accrington keeper Michael Kelly.

  10. CLOSE!published at 12:51 British Summer Time 21 September

    Lincoln 0-0 Wigan

The game has crackled into life. Wigan forward Joe Hugill so nearly got on the end of a low cross from the left from Luke Chambers, with Zach Jeacock stretching to palm the ball away from his goalmouth while Dion Rankin's follow-up was blocked in the middle.

Thelo Aasgaard when bends a free-kick straight at the Imps keeper from 20 yards out.

    Latics on top.

  11. Postpublished at 12:50 British Summer Time 21 September

    Accrington 0-0 Port Vale

A half chance for Accrington as Jake Batty swings in a cross from the left hand side but Dara Costelloe is unable to generate any power on his headed effort.

The first shot on target for Stanley who swing in another cross moments later but Port Vale's Connor Ripley is out quickly to pluck it from the air.

  12. Postpublished at 12:49 British Summer Time 21 September

    Lincoln 0-0 Wigan

The first Lincoln corner was headed out by the first man, the second is far deeper beyond the back post and comes to nothing as the referee has spotted an infringement.

The fans are enjoying the late summer sunshine as much as the football in the opening 19 minutes, it's fair to say.

  13. Postpublished at 12:48 British Summer Time 21 September

    Exeter 1-0 Stevenage

    Dean Thompson
    BBC Three Counties Radio commentator

I was looking for a foul... there wasn't one.

    It's a real scrappy goal.

  14. Postpublished at 12:47 British Summer Time 21 September

    Exeter 1-0 Stevenage

Charlie Goode goes in search of a quick reply for Boro but he nods over Joe Whitworth's bar from a Harvey White corner.

End-to-end stuff to start the EFL afternoon.

  15. Postpublished at 12:44 British Summer Time 21 September

    Accrington 0-0 Port Vale

The weather is nice, the pitch looks snooker table crisp but there's no real action of note so far at the Wham Stadium.

We're 13 minutes in and just the one shot apiece so far. Accrington's Shaun Whalley attempts an ambitious lob from range but it doesn't trouble Connor Ripley in the Port Vale goal.

Moments later, Vale's top scorer Ethan Chislett fires in an effort from the edge of the box but it's straight at Michael Kelly.

  16. goal

GOAL Exeter 1-0 Stevenagepublished at 12:42 British Summer Time 21 September

    Ed Francis (9 mins)

    Deadlock broken now!

It's probably not one for the purists but Exeter won't care, they have taken the lead as Ed Francis gets on the end of a downward header from a corner from Josh Magennis to hook the ball into the net from a yard out with his back to goal.

Great improvisation and the hosts strike first.

    Exeter 0-0 Stevenage

Carl Piergianni has nodded over the bar from a Harvey White free-kick for Stevenage while at the other end a succession of corners have come to nought for the hosts, with Pierce Sweeney's low shot being blocked as close as they have come to breaking the deadlock.

    Lively start at SJP, however.

  18. Postpublished at 12:39 British Summer Time 21 September

    Chesterfield 0-0 Cheltenham Town

Now it's the home side's turn to test the opposition goalkeeper but, like Luke Young's free-kick at the other end, Armando Dobra's effort is safely gathered by Owen Evans.

  19. Postpublished at 12:38 British Summer Time 21 September

    Lincoln 0-0 Wigan

First strains of the legendary air-raid siren the home fans use when they win a corner... they didn't last long as the ball is cleared and the Imps retreat to halfway.

  20. Postpublished at 12:37 British Summer Time 21 September

    Chesterfield 0-0 Cheltenham Town

Cheltenham have lost all three on the road so far this season but they have made a bright start with Luke Young testing home goalkeeper Ryan Boot from distance with a free-kick which the custodian holds on to.
