You can see at times where Manchester United are trying to go under Ruben Amorim. There have been flashes of good but no consistency. It is only in short spells and they haven't quite hit their flow yet.

The manager is adamant about continuing his way. Do some of the players suit it? That remains to be seen.

Are they going to add and recruit into the system in the summer? They surely have to. These are questions that will need to be asked.

A European spot has to be a target for Fulham. If they get beaten tonight there are teams queueing up to overtake them in the table - they need a result tonight.

It is imperative that they try and get something tonight because the following games are Liverpool, Bournemouth and Chelsea, a tough run of fixtures.

"For us, it is progression, of course in three seasons we are able to reach the quarter-finals twice [in the FA Cup].

"We lost an important game, but it is done. We don't have time to keep crying about something that we cannot change."

On Arsenal: "They're one of the teams who press higher. They are really aggressive in that type of moment.

"We have to be able to be brave and put the right dynamic [into the game]."

On five changes: "Freshness, definitely. We played 72 hours before. The game was mentally really difficult for us. After the international break most of the players played two games."

Of Mikel Merino’s six Premier League goals (5 for Arsenal, 1 Newcastle), five have given his side the lead in a match, while he has scored the winning goal in four of the five Premier League games in which he has scored at least once, the only exception being Arsenal’s 2-2 draw with Liverpool in October this season.

And it was a familiar story for the Spaniard during the international break as he salvaged a draw for his side against the Netherlands in the Nations League quarter-finals with a last-minute goal.

    Arsenal v Fulham (19:45 BST)

    Arsenal

Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta speaking to Sky Sports on Bukayo Saka's return: "Great to have him back, we missed him. He's a very important player for us. He's back, he's ready. It was a hard decision to put him on the bench when a player like that is available, but I think it was the right decision for the first game back."

On Ben White not being in the squad: "He had a little niggle two days ago. Yesterday we tried, he wasn't feeling right so we decided not to put him in the squad."

  12. 'Saka back just in time for Real Madrid'published at 19:22 British Summer Time 1 April

    Arsenal v Fulham (19:45 BST)

    Glenn Murray
Former Brighton striker on BBC Radio 5 Live

It's clear to see Arsenal's fall away in the Premier League [since Bukayo Saka's injury]. There is a huge reliance on Saka and while he has been out they have hugely missed him.

He is back now and just in time for Real Madrid next week. It's a huge game and he will have that firmly in his sights.

  13. Saka's attacking influencepublished at 19:21 British Summer Time 1 April

    Arsenal v Fulham (19:45 BST)

    Alex Howell
BBC football news reporter at the Emirates Stadium

Most of the talk before this match has been about Bukayo Saka's return to the squad after a lengthy injury lay off.

The 23-year-old is such a key player for Arsenal. In the 16 games that Saka was available in the Premier League for Arsenal they scored 34 goals at a rate of 2.1 per game.

In the 13 that he missed, the Gunners scored 19 at a rate of 1.5 per match, a big drop off.

I think the return of Bukayo Saka not only lifts the players but the whole place. Arsenal have needed a lift in all honesty.

They have seen the Premier League title drifting away from them in recent weeks, they've not had a number nine and have been without their 'starboy' Saka.

There feels like there's been a lift in belief around the Emirates. Even if he is not at full tilt immediately he will bring so much to those around him.

  15. Arsenal have 'big summer' aheadpublished at 19:18 British Summer Time 1 April

    Arsenal v Fulham (19:45 BST)

Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta anticipates a "big" summer of spending to take "the next step" in their hunt for silverware.

The Gunners' transfer business has been a topic of conversation for the past few campaigns, with particular emphasis on the absence of a number nine.

As things stand, Arsenal will finish as runners-up for the third consecutive Premier League season, though they are in the quarter-finals of the Champions League.

Following the departure of sporting director Edu, Arteta will be working with his successor Andrea Berta to strengthen his squad in areas that have particularly suffered in the past few months as they try to "evolve the team".

"It's going to be a big one [summer] and we are very excited about it," said Arteta. "When you are going to go again, we want to increase the depth of the squad and the quality and the skills that we need to go to the next step.

"Every summer is big because it is an opportunity - and especially because of the number of players we have in the squad right now, that is necessary.

"But it's a big summer for many things because first of all we have to maintain the good foundations that we have and then obviously how can we improve and evolve the team."

Forest have had an unbelievable season I love what the manager [Nuno Espirito Santo] has done.

He's made them a team which is hard to beat, but they have a good counter-attacking system.

You have Morgan Gibbs-White driving through the middle, Anthony Elanga on one side and then Callum Hudson-Odoi on the other.

I know Chris Wood is injured for this game, but Taiwo Awoniyi he has come on and done well. He has not scored the goals that Wood has scored, but he is a handful.

    Nottingham Forest

Nuno Espirito Santo insists Nottingham Forest will adopt a “no excuses” policy for their Premier League clash with Manchester United.

Forest have been drained by Saturday’s FA Cup quarter-final at Brighton, which they won on penalties after 120 minutes of play finished goalless to set up a last-four appointment with Manchester City.

“No excuses. Don’t give anyone excuses," said Nuno. "We’re going to go and we’re going to compete.

“It’s very difficult on the players but they are recovering well. They are always being positive so we are confident we can perform against a good team.

“These short turnarounds are all about recovering and fortunately the match is in the evening so it will gives us the day to finalise the details, so we will be OK.

    Nick Mashiter
BBC Sport football news reporter at the City Ground

The last time Nottingham Forest went through a season unbeaten against Manchester United was 1994-95, when they finished third.

There is little evidence to suggest Nuno Espirito Santo's side are going to implode and lose their grip on a top four spot and if they can tick off another game they will edge towards a remarkable season finale.
