Burnley boss Scott Parker has seen his side concede just nine times in 31 Championship matches this season

That's as far as we go in here tonight.

Burnley stretched their unbeaten run to 18 games with a 1-0 win over Oxford to move back up to second in the Championship.

The Clarets have now kept nine successive clean sheets and have 22 for the season in just 31 matches.

Elsewhere in the Championship, QPR ended a two-match losing streak with a narrow 2-1 win over fifth-placed Blackburn and boosted their own play-off hopes.

League Two saw Newport claim a vital victory over lowly Morecambe and Salford fight back from 3-0 down to draw 3-3 at home to Bromley.

We're back tomorrow with live text coverage of Coventry v table-topping Leeds in the Championship.

Hope you can join us then. Cheers!

One more game in the Championship this week and it could be a cracker.

Frank Lampard has got Coventry going in the right direction after taking over in November and a win over the league leaders Leeds would move them level on points with sixth-placed West Brom.

That'll be no easy task though. Leeds are top for a reason.

Daniel Farke's men haven't lost since 30 November and beat Cardiff 7-0 on Saturday.

A win in the Midlands would move them five points clear of second-placed Burnley.

  3. Clarets go second and QPR back in top-six hunt?published at 22:03 Greenwich Mean Time

    Championship table

Tonight's win lifts Burnley back up into the top two, admittedly on goal difference only and having played a game more than Sheffield United.

Blackburn stay fifth but they're now just four points ahead of 13th-placed QPR after falling to a defeat by the London side tonight.

Oxford's impressive nine-game unbeaten run was ended by the Clarets but they're well placed to steer clear of trouble at the bottom.

  4. Shrimps' nightmare continues; Salford might start dreamingpublished at 22:00 Greenwich Mean Time

A quick glance at the League Two table and you can't help but feel for Derek Adams' Morecambe, who were within reach of getting a point away to Newport County, but in the end fell short.

County's late 2-1 win lifts them closer to the mid-table pack, leaving the Shrimps to wonder what might have been if they'd secured points to lift themselves out of the relegation zone for the first time since August.

It's a different story for Salford, whose stunning comeback in a 3-3 draw with Bromley has put them within touching distance of the play-off spots, with plenty points left to play for this season.

It's a bitter pill to swallow. It would have been good to come away with a point.

The second goal was a poor one to give away. Everything QPR did was to the letter and Blackburn were outdone tonight. John Eustace will be disappointed with that.

  8. Burnley a force to be reckoned withpublished at 21:45 Greenwich Mean Time

    David Unsworth

Great professional performance, solid as a rock at the back. The whole team worked their socks off, throughly deserved their victory.

I can see why they can keep clean sheets, the players in those areas are outstanding. They're gonna be a real force to be reckoned with.

Crikey, that was a little bonkers.

There's been spectacular late drama in League Two as Salford claw their way back from 3-0 down against Bromley to equalise at 3-3 in injury time, thanks to a goal from Cole Stockton.

Elsewhere, it seemed Morecambe might have got themselves a point on the road when they equalised in the last 15 minutes, but a composed finish by David Ajiboye gave Newport County a well deserved 2-1 win.

  10. goal

GOAL: Salford 3-3 Bromleypublished at 21:38 Greenwich Mean Time

    Cole Stockton (90+1 min)

    UNBELIEVABLE!

Salford were 3-0 down in this match with an hour played and they've fought back to surely take a share of the points.

Striker Cole Stockton is on hand to head in after Matty Lund's initial shot is saved.

    Crazy stuff in League Two.

  11. FULL-TIMEpublished at 21:38 Greenwich Mean Time

    QPR 2-1 Blackburn

What an advert for Championship football that was, and QPR are back to winning ways.

It had goals, penalty appeals, a penalty, great saves, and a whole load of chaos.

QPR come out on top thanks to an early deflected goal by Michael Frey, and a blistering strike from substitute Jack Colback.

Blackburn got back into the game thanks to a cooly taken penalty by Tyrhys Dolan, but Marti Cifuentes seems to have put the brakes on QPR's losing streak, and sent them up the table and closer to the Championship play-off places.

John Eustace will have to brush his Blackburn players down ahead of the big FA Cup tie against Premier League Wolverhampton Wanderers.

  12. FULL-TIMEpublished at 21:36 Greenwich Mean Time

    Burnley 1-0 Oxford

Nine successive clean sheets Burnley? Nine?!

The Clarets go second with a narrow 1-0 win over Oxford courtesy of Michal Helik's own goal and are now unbeaten in 18 league matches.

The Yellows see their own nine-match unbeaten run ended in a game where they competed manfully but didn't have a shot on target against Europe's meanest defence.

It's 22 clean sheets in 31 matches for Scott Parker's men.

The Championship is a horrible 46-game slog - a tough, tough league full of sides with recent history in the Premier League or perennial play-off hopefuls. To be 31 games in and having conceded just 9 (nine!) league goals is absolutely insane. Burnley must be on for a defensive record surely.

  19. SUBSTITUTIONpublished at 21:25 Greenwich Mean Time

    Burnley 1-0 Oxford

Home sub Jeremy Sarmiento sees a shot saved by Jamie Cumming in the Oxford goal.

The hosts have had chances to make this result safe, could they yet be made to pay for not taking them?

They make a second alteration and it's veteran Ashley Barnes on for Zian Flemming up top.

  20. goal

GOAL: Newport 2-1 Morecambepublished at 21:24 Greenwich Mean Time

    David Ajiboye (82 mins)

    Unbelievable!

Just as Morecambe were beginning to reassess and prepare the onslaught, David Ajiboye is picked out inside the box and cooly slots the ball home.

Ice in the veins, and a big bucket of ice on Morecambe's hopes.
