They'll remember the 5th of November in Sheffield for a long time.

The Blades came from behind to see-off Bristol City deep, deep, deep into stoppage-time to go within a point of the summit - all eyes now are on Sunderland and Leeds who play tomorrow night to see if they can respond.

What a difference three days made to Wednesday too, they bounced back from their 6-2 humbling by Watford to beat injury-hit Norwich, who are dropping like a stone.

Plymouth's win over Portsmouth and QPR's home drubbing by Boro means the bottom of the table might look that way for a while, but Swansea and Oxford picked-up wins which mean they are looking up rather than down in mid-table.

And a word for Wycombe too, who are now leading the race to be in next year's Championship after a stunning win at Stockport.

We'll be back tomorrow night for another five Championship games involving two of the top three and two of the bottom four.

What more could you ask for?

Until then, thanks for your company, goodnight!

Wycombe fans, feast your eyes on this!

Matt Bloomfield's side are top of the League One table after their 5-0 thumping against Stockport, a game the Chairboys won't be forgetting in a hurry.

All they needed was to win by a three-goal margin, and it's safe to say they did that...in style.

  4. Pompey sinking as Pilgrims pull clearpublished at 22:04 Greenwich Mean Time 5 November

Bottom 10 of ChampionshipImage source, BBC Sport

November might be too early to talk about six pointers, but Plymouth's win over Portsmouth certainly looks like a very big win in the context of the season.

QPR's malaise goes on, their decent point against Sunderland on Saturday followed-up with a heavy home defeat against Middlesbrough.

Plymouth join an almighty throng on 15 points, along with Hull City, who went down by the only goal at Oxford United.

If Luton and Preston are able to pick up wins tomorrow night then the bottom of the table will make for very gloomy reading for Pompey and R's fans.

  5. 'A real lack of belief'published at 22:00 Greenwich Mean Time 5 November

    FT: Sheff Wed 2-0 Norwich

    David Fox
Former Norwich City midfielder on BBC Radio Norfolk

The big thing for me when you watch this game, especially after they got the first goal there just seemed to be a real lack of belief and a lack of character and personality.

We have come away from home and we might not have the starting lads but we are going to have a real go, but there just didn't seem to be that belief and thought in the players heads that they can go and win this game.

Once you go 1-0 down then 2-0 down, you know this is going to be tough and we haven't quite got what we need to win the game. The players aren't daft they will know that. There was just a bit of frustration and a bit of lack of belief.

Sheffield United snatched victory from the jaws of defeat to go back up to second thanks to two late goals at Bristol City, who would have gone fifth with a win but instead drop to 11th.

Watford's loss at Swansea means they fail to make any ground on the top four, while Middlesbrough's 4-1 win at QPR puts them just outside the top six.

The Swans are up to 10th after successive wins.

Right, let's have a look at what that dramatic night of Championship action has done to the table shall we?

  8. FULL-TIMEpublished at 21:56 Greenwich Mean Time 5 November

    Swansea 1-0 Watford

It's back-to-back wins for Swansea while Watford miss the chance to go fourth.

Nine of Swansea's 14 games have featured one goal or fewer, but if you keep a clean sheet all you need is one.

Myles Peart-Harris got it on 35 minutes, sliding in to poke home a header from Ronald, which had a touch of offside about it.

Luke Williams won't mind, they are into the top-10.

  9. Postpublished at 21:56 Greenwich Mean Time 5 November

    Swansea 1-0 Watford

Daniel Bachmann the Watford keeper is up for a corner in the third of four minutes of added time.

He has a 90-yard sprint back after the ball is cleared, though it's worked to Kwadwo Baah on the right who skips inside before lashing a shot into the side-netting when a cross was the better option.

  10. CLOSE!published at 21:51 Greenwich Mean Time 5 November

    Swansea 1-0 Watford

Josh Key has his pocked picked in his own half allowing Daniel Jebbison to drive towards the box, only for Imran Louza to whip a left-footed attempt over the bar from 20 yards just as Jebbison was preparing to unleash a right-footed effort.

Head in hands moment for the Hornets sub.

    Plymouth 1-0 Portsmouth

Michael Obafemi scores the winner for PlymouthImage source, Rex Features

Michael Obafemi's late goal means Plymouth come away with all the points to go three clear of the relegation zone.

Portsmouth had the better of things but they couldn't get the goal their play merited and they're now five points adrift of safety.

  12. Postpublished at 21:49 Greenwich Mean Time 5 November

    Swansea 1-0 Watford

Ben Cabango is lucky to avoid a booking after lunging in on Daniel Jebbison but Watford can't make the free-kick count.

Festy Ebosele launches in a long-throw from the clearance but Giorgi Chakvetadze's strike from the edge of the box deflects over.

Their seventh corner of the night is superbly claimed, not for the first time, by Lawrence Vigouroux under enormous pressure.

    A defender's dream, that...

Wow, where do we start with that?

What a finish! When it fell to Harrison Burrows, we thought just find that bit of quality I felt like a broken record, I kept saying find that bit of quality.

What a moment, a long journey for the United fans - they will be glad they saw that moment no matter the time they get home!

  15. FULL TIMEpublished at 21:46 Greenwich Mean Time 5 November

    Stockport 0-5 Wycombe

A brutal evening for the home side, and Wycombe were worth every penny.

Doubles by Richard Kone and Fred Onyedinma were added to by a tidy Aaron Morley finish.

The visitors needed three or more goals to go top of League One, and *checks table*, yes, they've done it. Blimey.

  16. SUBSTITUTIONpublished at 21:45 Greenwich Mean Time 5 November

    Swansea 1-0 Watford

Six of Swansea's previous 13 games this season have ended 1-0, one way or the other. Will this be seven of 14?

Things are heating up a bit in the past few minutes as Watford's frustration grows and a few hard challenges fly in.

Vakoun Bayo has been subbed off, after a four-goal salvo on Saturday, he endured a quiet and frustrating evening. Daniel Jebbison is his replacement.

  17. FULL-TIMEpublished at 21:45 Greenwich Mean Time 5 November

    Bristol City 1-2 Sheff Utd

The stuff champions are made of?

Sheffield United were 1-0 down in this going into the 87th minute.

Ryan One levelled with his first goal for the club and, after Rob Dickie had been sent off in time added on, Harrison Burrows smashed home his second in two games to give the Blades three points and send them second.

Next up for them? The Steel City derby at Bramall Lane on Sunday.

  18. FULL TIMEpublished at 21:45 Greenwich Mean Time 5 November

    Oxford 1-0 Hull

This was well and truly a game of two halves as Hull City had numerous chances to score early on. Kasey Palmer and Bachir Belloumi's opportunities were screaming out for a little more composure.

But whatever Des Buckingham told his players at half time worked an absolute treat. Oxford came flying out of the traps and it was the debutant Hidde Ter Avest who was at the back post to finish a wonderful cross.

This defeat marks six games without a win for Tim Walter...was that the last hurrah?
