  1. HITS THE WOODWORKpublished at 15:10 British Summer Time 31 August

    Hibernian 0-0 St Mirren

How has Junior Hoilett not scored that?

Martin Boyle gets to the bye-line and cuts it back perfectly to the Canadian forward, who pokes at the ball from eight yards out and somehow manages to crash it off the bar.

  2. Postpublished at 15:10 British Summer Time 31 August

    Aberdeen 0-0 Falkirk

A chance for Aberdeen as Alexander Jensen takes a shot from outside the box, but it is saved in the top centre of the goal by goalkeeper Scott Bain.

  3. Postpublished at 15:09 British Summer Time 31 August

    Dundee 0-1 Dundee United

    Dearie me.

Jon McCracken is sticking to - what you assume is - his manager's plan to play out from the back at all times.

United goalscorer Zac Sapsford chases down the goalkeeper and almost causes an almighty calamity for Dundee before pouncing on the loose ball.

The fans make their feelings on it clear inside Dens as boos bellow down from the stands.

  4. Postpublished at 15:07 British Summer Time 31 August

    Hibernian 0-0 St Mirren

First big chance at Easter Road - and it comes to the visitors.

The ball is slipped to Mika Mandron in the box and the St Mirren striker's whipped shot is tipped round the post by goalkeeper Jordan Smith. Decent effort.

  5. KICK-OFF SECOND HALFpublished at 15:05 British Summer Time 31 August

    Dundee 0-1 Dundee United

We're back under way at Dens Park too, and there has been a double change for Dundee at the interval.

On-loan Swansea City midfielder Cameron Congreve and Tony Yogane, the Brentford winger, are on.

Joe Westley and Yan Dhanda depart.

  6. KICK-OFFpublished at 15:02 British Summer Time 31 August

We are under way at Pittrodrie, with the kick-off just behind at Easter Road because of that Rod Petrie tribute.

  7. Applause in Petrie's memorypublished at 15:00 British Summer Time 31 August

    Hibernian v St Mirren (15:00)

    Brian McLauchlin
BBC Sport Scotland at Easter Road

There will be a one-minute applause before the start of the match here at Easter Road in memory of Rod Petrie, who sadly passed away 10 days ago. He held the posts of chief executive and Chairman of Hibs over a 20-year period.

  8. Will either side break duck?published at 14:59 British Summer Time 31 August

    Hibernian v St Mirren (15:00)

While Hibs exited Conference League qualifying in heartbreaking fashion following Legia Warsaw's stoppage-time winner on Thursday, David Gray's side will have taken confidence from their performance.

But they are still looking for their first home win of the season having lost to Midtjylland, Partizan Belgrade and the Poles in Leith as well as drawing with Kilmarnock.

St Mirren are still seeking their first league win of the season, their only win in the latest four coming over Heart of Midlothian on penalties in the Premier Sports Cup.

However, they only lost by a single goal at Celtic Park and held Rangers to a draw in Paisley last time out.

  9. Will Bairns repeat 2010 win?published at 14:57 British Summer Time 31 August

    Aberdeen v Falkirk (15:00)

Aberdeen and Falkirk are set for the first league meeting since 2010, when the Dons won 1-0 under Mark McGhee.

However, Falkirk's last win at Pittodrie came by the same scoreline a couple of weeks earlier.

The two sides last faced each other during a pre-season friendly in 2018, when the Dons won 1-0.

Their last competitive fixture was a bit of a drubbing for the Bairns, losing 5-0 in the League Cup in September 2013.

  10. Whose trend will continue?published at 14:54 British Summer Time 31 August

    Hibernian v St Mirren (15:00)

St Mirren have won three of their latest four visits to Easter Road, all three in Premiership.

Indeed, Hibs have not beaten the Buddies in six meetings since a 4-2 victory in the League Cup in September 2023.

However, current form favours Hibs, who have scored at least twice in each of their last 10 home league games - the longest run in the Scottish top-flight by any side other than Celtic or Rangers in the 21st century.

Meanwhile, the visitors are winless in their last five league games, albeit only losing one of those.

  11. St Mirren need 90-minute performance - Robinsonpublished at 14:51 British Summer Time 31 August

    Hibernian v St Mirren (15:00)

St Mirren manager Stephen Robinson tells BBC Scotland: "We've had some decent results. I don't think we've played at the top of our game for 90 minutes - it's been 45s and 60s.

"To win today, we need a full compliment for 96 or 97 minutes - whatever it takes against a very good Hibs side.

"Their changes are like for like. Not many teams could make five changes and look just as strong on paper. I don't think it'll effect them in any shape or form."

  12. McGlynn not relying on Aberdeen tirednesspublished at 14:50 British Summer Time 31 August

    Aberdeen v Falkirk (15:00)

Falkirk manager John McGlynn tells BBC Scotland: "Aberdeen play a 4-3-2-1, we play a 4-3-2-1 - that is our usual formation, that's what we'll play and we'll see who comes out on top.

"It's windy here, which won't help anyone. It'll be a very entertaining game - there'll be a lot of chances and probably some goals."

On Aberdeen's potential tiredness from Thursday's European venture, McGlynn adds: "We can't rely on that. We've got to play well, it's as simple as that.

"We have to be on it right from that start. Maybe at the latter stages of the game, that'll have some sort of impact, but we have to make it there. If we're there, hopefully that would get us over the line."

  13. HALF-TIME Dundee 0-1 Dundee Unitedpublished at 14:48 British Summer Time 31 August

Advantage to the tangerine side of Tannadice Street at the interval.

Zac Sapsford's cool finish is the difference in the Dundee derby so far.

  14. Postpublished at 14:47 British Summer Time 31 August

    Dundee 0-1 Dundee United

    Nope.

It's hoisted in high, but it's far too easy for United to deal with.

  15. Postpublished at 14:47 British Summer Time 31 August

    Dundee 0-1 Dundee United

Dundee have a late first-half free-kick in a promising position.

    Can they find a leveller...?

  16. Dundee in search of a sparkpublished at 14:47 British Summer Time 31 August

    Dundee 0-1 Dundee United

    Scott Allan
Former Hibernian midfielder on BBC Sportsound

I think Dundee are looking for a bit of magic from somewhere - Yan Dhanda on the edge of box or Simon Murray.

I don't see anything here that's worked in terms of trying to get their creative players on the ball.

It looks like they've set up not to be beaten rather than to try to win the game.

  17. 'No excuses not to be sharp and ready'published at 14:45 British Summer Time 31 August

    Aberdeen v Falkirk (15:00)

Aberdeen manager Jimmy Thelin tells BBC Scotland: I'm looking forward to being at home today and making a strong performance.

"We have balanced the squad really well today. We have no excuses today to not be sharp and ready.

"When teams are promoted, they're always energetic and want to win the game. We have to be ready with energy and, at home, we have to show our quality is there.

"We need to create chances and balance our defence."

  18. Lazetic on bench as Dons switch threepublished at 14:44 British Summer Time 31 August

    Aberdeen v Falkirk (15:00)

Former AC Milan striker Marko Lazetic is in the Aberdeen squad for the first time as he starts on the bench.

Winger Nicolas Milanovic, striker Kusini Yengi and midfielder Leighton Clarkson replace Adil Aouchiche, Ester Sokler and Graeme Shinnie after Thursday's 3-0 defeat by FCSB in Bucharest.

  19. Postpublished at 14:43 British Summer Time 31 August

    Dundee 0-1 Dundee United

A decent opening for Dundee there.

It's worked across to Yan Dhana outside the area, but the midfielder opts not to shoot, chopping back onto his left and then overhits a pass back across the box.

It's recycled back to Dhanda, who does shoot now, but it's blasted into a glut of United bodies.

No-one seems up for taking charge of the game for the hosts.

  20. Stephenson star of first halfpublished at 14:41 British Summer Time 31 August

    Dundee 0-1 Dundee United

    Scott Allan
Former Hibernian midfielder on BBC Sportsound

Luca Stephenson's probably been the standout of this first half in terms of energy.

In and out of possession, always looking to pick up good areas to hurt Dundee and winning his individual battles.

The midfielder's had a real impact.
