  1. Gray aiming for 'freshness' with five changespublished at 14:41 British Summer Time 31 August

    Hibernian v St Mirren (15:00)

Hibs head coach David Gray tells BBC Scotland: "It was really tough to take, for all the effort that went in and the level of performance and the emotions at the end.

"Freshness was always going to be key, even if we went through, because of the quick turnaround. The players are ready for it, it's my job and the staffs' job to make sure they're up for it.

"If we want nights like we had on Thursday, to compete at that level, you need to have a very strong domestic season and games at home are the games you need to win."

  2. Bairns signings on bench as Arfield returnspublished at 14:40 British Summer Time 31 August

    Aberdeen v Falkirk (15:00)

On-loan Swansea City winger Kyrell Wilson and teenage striker Trey Samuel-Ogunsuyi, who has joined for the season from Sunderland, both start on the Falkirk bench.

Veteran midfielder Scott Arfield replaces Alfredo Agyeman, with the forward moving to the bench, following their 4-1 defeat away to Celtic in the League Cup two weeks ago.

  3. Postpublished at 14:39 British Summer Time 31 August

    Dundee 0-1 Dundee United

Ryan Astley and Jon McCracken are almost left with some red faces.

An awkward one-two leads to a United throw-in deep in their half, which is then launched right on top of the Dundee goalkeeper.

They manage to scramble it clear, but the visitors are hemming them in now.

  4. Postpublished at 14:36 British Summer Time 31 August

    Dundee 0-1 Dundee United

Vicko Sevelj almost finds Ivan Dolcek in behind with a looping pass. Once again, United are targeting Dundee's left-hand side.

It's cut out this time and Dundee deal with it. Maybe they've sorted out the issue down that flank now.

  5. Murray should scorepublished at 14:32 British Summer Time 31 August

    Dundee 0-1 Dundee United

    Scott Allan
Former Hibernian midfielder on BBC Sportsound

It's the first time we've seen it - Yan Dhanda in an area playing a cultured ball with his right foot.

Murray will probably be disappointed he doesn't score there.

If he lifts it a bit higher, it's 1-1.

  6. Postpublished at 14:32 British Summer Time 31 August

    Dundee 0-1 Dundee United

That has been Dundee's only real chance in the opening 30 minutes and it came from United's Iurie Iovu taking an awkward tumble to allow Simon Murray to run at goal.

They've been off it so far.

  7. Postpublished at 14:29 British Summer Time 31 August

    Dundee 0-1 Dundee United

United goalkeeper Yevhen Kucherenko is out sharp to palm away a dinked Simon Murray effort.

It's pulled back after the fact for a foul in the build-up against the Dundee striker.

Bit of a bizarre decision that one. Harsh.

  8. Postpublished at 14:28 British Summer Time 31 August

    Dundee 0-1 Dundee United

Ivan Dolcek has so much space down the right-hand side to receive a pass from Luca Stephenson.

The winger gathers the ball, takes it forward into the area and blasts a shot into the side netting, all without a Dundee challenge to impede him.

Steven Pressley's side have to sort out their left flank promptly.

  9. United in controlpublished at 14:28 British Summer Time 31 August

    Dundee 0-1 Dundee United

    Scott Allan
Former Hibernian midfielder on BBC Sportsound

The best chances of the game up until the goal had fallen to United. I don't think Kucherenko has had much to do.

Dundee United look a lot more in control of what they're trying to do. For Dundee, everything looks a bit hopeful at the moment.

  10. Blown away by atmosphere?published at 14:26 British Summer Time 31 August

    Aberdeen v Falkirk (15:00)

    Tyrone Smith
    BBC Scotland at Pittodrie

It is a day for keeping it on the deck at Pittodrie, with a gusty wind howling around the ground.

There should be a cracking atmosphere, though, with a crowd of around 17,000 expected.

The visitors should have a good backing, with 1,300 Bairns making the trip north from Falkirk.

  11. Postpublished at 14:23 British Summer Time 31 August

    Dundee 0-1 Dundee United

The aforementioned Yan Dhanda is clattered in the middle of the park. That's not pretty.

No free-kick given, though, despite the referee stopping play to check on the players.

    It's been stop-start since United's opener.

  12. Postpublished at 14:20 British Summer Time 31 August

    Dundee 0-1 Dundee United

Two Yan Dhanda crosses in quick succession are stopped before they can reach the target men in the area.

If the hosts are going to find a route back into the game, you'd imagine the on-loan Hearts midfielder's creativity in the final third will be key.

  13. McCracken at fault?published at 14:20 British Summer Time 31 August

    Dundee 0-1 Dundee United

    Scott Allan
Former Hibernian midfielder on BBC Sportsound

Jon McCracken is not going to be happy with that.

All credit to Dundee United. They work it down the side and it's that ball across. Like all good strikers, Sapsford gets across the front post and squeezes it into that near post.

You'd maybe expect McCracken to save that.

    It's a brilliantly worked goal.

  15. goal

GOAL Dundee 0-1 Dundee Unitedpublished at 14:14 British Summer Time 31 August

    Zac Sapsford

Breakthrough for United! And it comes from the returning Zac Sapsford.

Luca Stephenson does ever so well to drive to the by-line off the back of Yan Dhanda.

No need to get his head up, he knows exactly where he wants to cut the ball back to, and he picks out the fit-again striker.

He guides it in at the near post. Dundee goalkeeper Jon McCracken will be disappointed to let that one in.

  16. Dolcek looking dangerouspublished at 14:14 British Summer Time 31 August

    Dundee 0-0 Dundee United

    Scott Allan
Former Hibernian midfielder on BBC Sportsound

He's been my favourite of the new signings. He looks really direct, looking to get shots away. It's a slack pass into the midfield from Dundee and Dolcek with some lovely feet, trying to shape himself to get the shot away.

A sign of how dangerous he can be in those areas of the park.

  17. Hanley and Klidje among five Hibs changespublished at 14:13 British Summer Time 31 August

    Hibernian v St Mirren (15:00)

David Gray changes five of his starting XI after exited the Conference League in extra-time on Thursday out in Poland.

Scotland centre-half Grant Hanley and Jack Iredale come into the defence, with Miguel Chaiwa, who impressed against Legia Warsaw, and record signing Thibault Klidje making first league starts after signing in the summer.

Veteran winger Junior Hoilett also starts.

Warren O'Hora, Jordan Obita, Josh Mulligan, Kieron Bowie and former St Mirren midfielder Jamie McGrath all drop to the bench.

  18. ouch!

Ouch!published at 14:11 British Summer Time 31 August

    Dundee 0-0 Dundee United

Ooft, some challenge from Will Ferry.

The United winger sweeps around the back of Callum Jones to keep the ball in a dangerous position and gives the visitors something to build on.

It's recycled in from out wide before Ivan Dolcek has a shot well-blocked again.

  19. Postpublished at 14:09 British Summer Time 31 August

    Dundee 0-0 Dundee United

Visiting winger Ivan Dolcek now sees his 20-yard attempt met by a solid Dundee block.

This game's been pretty end-to-end so far.

  20. St Mirren unchanged from Rangers drawpublished at 14:08 British Summer Time 31 August

    Hibernian v St Mirren (15:00)

Jonah Ayunga was a fitness doubt for St Mirren, but the winger keeps his place in an unchanged St Mirren side from last weekend's draw with Rangers.

Midfielder Roland Idowu also overcomes a knock but is only fit enough for the bench.

Summer signing Jalmiro Calvin, a winger with a cap for Antigua and Barbuda and previously of Cavalier in Jamaica, could make a debut from the bench.
