Highlights: Postecoglou's wait for first Forest win goes on after draw at Burnley
Ange Postecoglou is still waiting for his first Nottingham Forest win after Oleksandr Zinchenko's error earned Burnley a draw at Turf Moor.
Arsenal loanee Zinchenko bundled the ball into his own net from Jaidon Anthony's cross, although the Burnley player was awarded the goal, after Neco Williams' thumping early finish gave Forest the lead.
Postecoglou has made an immediate impact on the way Forest play - they are much more expansive than under predecessor Nuno Espirito Santo - but the head coach is still impressing his ideas to his new squad after a winless opening three games.
Forest were the better side in the first half - leading after Williams' second-minute thunderbolt - but still could have gone in behind after Burnley clawed they way back following Zinchenko's gaffe.
The defender turned Anthony's scuffed shot, which may have crept into the opposite corner, over the line as he fell into the goal.
Dilane Bakwa and Chris Wood went close for the visitors but Loum Tchaouna's free-kick rattled the bar just before the break.
Burnley winger Anthony forced Matz Sels into an early second-half save but, despite failing to win, it is another point Burnley can build on after their late heartbreak against Liverpool last week.
The Clarets, though, needed Martin Dubravka to keep out Igor Jesus' header and Williams' late drive to earn their point.
'This is what you get with Ange' - Rooney on Postecoglou
Promising signs for Forest but greater control needed
'We look a different team' - Postecoglou pleased with Forest progress
Postecoglou's fingerprints are across the squad already, that is clear, and there were glimpses of exactly what could come for Nottingham Forest.
Chances were fashioned for Bakwa and Wood with sharp, smart football which Burnley struggled to cope with.
Yet they allowed Burnley back into the game, losing their way after the Clarets' leveller, and must be able to gain greater control of matches.
But there are promising signs even though the Austrlian head coach, who wants to implement his style quickly, has been in charge for less than two weeks.
A point was a fair result for both sides, but Postecoglou was brought in to win for Forest.
He has two chances to earn that victory next week as Forest go to Real Betis in the Europa League on Wednesday - the first time in 30 years they will have played in Europe - before a first home game at the City Ground against Sunderland next Saturday.
Burnley show home comforts can provide survival platform
'Burnley's best performance so far' - Parker proud after Forest draw
As the rain hammered down at Turf Moor, Burnley put their bodies on the line once more.
This time, unlike the last-gasp defeat to Liverpool last week, they took a deserved point and one which can send a message about their home form.
A win over Sunderland was followed by an EFL Cup triumph over Derby and had it not been for Mohamed Salah's injury-time penalty last week they would be unbeaten at Turf Moor.
Scott Parker's side had chances to win and were good value for their point, even if they did need Martin Dubravka to make two fine late stops to deny Igor Jesus and Neco Williams.
As so often for a promoted side, the Clarets' home form is likely to decide whether they survive or face an immediate return to the Championship.
They recovered from the early setback of going behind to Williams' strike and could have been ahead by half-time after growing into the game.
On the evidence so far there are enough battling qualities - laced with talent - to give them more than just a fighting chance of staying up.
