  1. 'I'm greedy and wanted three points' - Dochertypublished at 17:34 British Summer Time 4 August

    FT: Dundee United 2-2 Dundee

Dundee manager Tony Docherty told BBC Scotland: "I'm probably not happy because of the way it finished. We were in the real ascendancy.

"We got a fantastic chance with Curtis Main, Simon Murray also had one saved by the goalkeeper.

"I thought United were better in the first half. I was a little bit disappointed that the players didn't find a way.

"With a change of shape we did manage to find that, and from then on I thought we were going to win it.

"When the dust settles, it's a derby away from home, we came behind twice. I shouldn't be disappointed but I am.

"We have a strong mentality and never-say-die attitude.

"However, we need to be a little bit braver than we were in the first half. We passed sideways and backwards too often.

"I was really pleased with the contribution of the substitutes, they really made an impact. I am greedy, I wanted all three points."

  2. Goodwin rues Trapanovski misspublished at 17:33 British Summer Time 4 August

    FT: Dundee United 2-2 Dundee

Dundee United boss Jim Goodwin was "extremely disappointed" not to have taken all three points in the derby despite admitting that a draw was a "fair result".

"I thought we had the opportunity to kill the game off and we didn't," the said in reference to Kristijan Trapanovski's chip over goalkeeper Jon McCracken that was cleared in front of goal when United were leading 2-1.

"I was delighted with the opening 45 minutes. I thought the shape of the team and the structure of the team was very good.

"I thought we deservedly got ourselves in front. The goals we concede - disappointing.

"We cause our own problems for the first one and the second one, the penalty, I'm not arguing with the decision - it was the correct call.

"I think the chances created by both teams was relatively even.

"The thing I had a slight concern with prior to the game was could we match them physically. I was wondering if we would get outfought, but the pleasing thing is I don't think we did."

What a wonderful leap and header from Liam Scales to double Celtic's lead. The champions have been good value for it in that first half.

Derek McInnes will be frustrated that his side have conceded one goal after giving up possession in their own box and another from a corner.

A soft goal was Killie's undoing against Cercle Bruges and the manager will want to see that ironed out their game sooner rather than later.

He's looking very assured with the ball at his feet.

As soon as he gets it he is looking to try and distribute it very quickly. He's everything you want in a goalkeeper.

Goals from Reo Hatate and Liam Scales have Celtic cruising.

The champions need one more to catch St Mirren and look in the mood.

Robby McCrorie to the rescue for Killie once again as he tips Matt O'Riley's shot beyond the far post and out for a Celtic corner.

They can't make anything of this one though.

Textbook corner, good delivery from Matt O'Riley and a good header from Liam Scales. Tremendous leap, he times it so well and just guides it into the far corner.

Brilliant from Robby McCrorie! The sharpness to touch it onto the bar on the second is great. Top saves!

  12. GREAT SAVE!published at 17:08 British Summer Time 4 August

    Celtic 1-0 Kilmarnock

Celtic look so dangerous on the counter.

Greg Taylor goes racing down the left and picks out Kyogo Furuhashi, who tees up Nicolas Kuhn but the winger is denied twice by Robby McCrorie. Great goalkeeping.

  13. 'St Mirren good value for the win'published at 17:07 British Summer Time 4 August

    FT: St Mirren 3-0 Hibernian

    Kheredine Idessane
    BBC Scotland at the SMISA

Saints' super start to the season continues – four goals in Europe in midweek followed by a further three in their Premiership opener.

They produced a second-half performance which completely blew an ineffectual Hibs side away.

Two new signings stood out. Roland Idowu, for his excellent goal and another great shot which hit the post, and Oisin Smyth for his brace from the bench.

St Mirren were clinical, Hibs were wasteful. Martin Boyle alone spurned a hat-trick of chances.

A match prolonged by 10 minutes by a VAR malfunction which meant that for much of the second half, the technology was operating with three cameras instead of six.

No half measures from St Mirren, however – they were at full capacity and well worth their win.

Superb from Kyle Vassell, he shows so much strength. He puts in a brilliant cross but Matty Kennedy just doesn't catch it right.

Not often you see Cameron Carter-Vickers being out-muscled.

Kyle Vassell does well to fend off Cameron Carter-Vickers and send a lovely cross to Matty Kennedy, who's waiting inside the Celtic penalty box.

His effort is caught comfortably by Kasper Schemichel though.

  18. 'Hatate hits the target'published at 16:56 British Summer Time 4 August

There is only so much you can take from pre-season matches, but Celtic are displaying all the sharpness they showed in those friendly victories over Manchester City and Chelsea.

Reo Hatate endured his injury struggles last season, but that's just a glimpse of what the Japan midfielder can offer. A typically smart finish to get Celtic up and running.

Kilmarnock's enormous task just got that little bit bigger.

Matt O'Riley and Kyogo Furuhashi - what a combo.

The midfielder finds Kyogo inside the box as he unleashes a strike towards Robby McCrorie, who does well to save.

Reo Hatate then decides to have a go from distance but finds no joy this time round.

  20. 'McInnes will be fuming'published at 16:51 British Summer Time 4 August

    Celtic 1-0 Kilmarnock

    Cammy Bell
Former Kilmarnock goalkeeper on BBC Sportsound

Derek McInnes will be fuming. You need to clear your lines.

Brad Lyons gave it away. Maybe that's a midfielder playing in defence, thinking that he had too much time?
