  1. 'There is a chance Worrall can move'published at 14:14 British Summer Time 22 August

Southampton v Nottingham Forest (Sat, 15:00 BST)

    Nottingham Forest

Nottingham Forest boss Nuno Espirito Santo confirmed former club captain Joe Worrall may depart amid links of a move to Burnley: "I think you know already how much I appreciate Joe. Since we arrived we made the decision that he will not be involved.

"His behaviour as a [former] club captain has been amazing.

"I recall in pre-season when he had a knock in the warm-up and he still wanted to play and help us build what we wanted to build in that moment.

"There is a chance he can move, the information I have is that it is not done but I wish him all the best. He is a top guy.

"He is a fantastic guy, a top player and always 100% in every exercise in every situation he was involved in.

"I hope he can proceed in his career and be happy."

Has to be Lineker presenting in his pants. No one thought he'd do it, no one could believe it when he did, and Shearer and Wrighty trying to keep a straight face was pure gold!

My favourite MOTD memory would have to be seeing Gary Lineker appearing in his underpants.

Southampton v Nottingham Forest (Sat, 15:00 BST)

    Nottingham Forest

Nottingham Forest boss Nuno Espirito Santo on midfielder Danilo's broken ankle: "It is a big loss for us in terms of not having him. We wish him the best. The last reports we had is that it is a serious injury, but we are confident he is going to come back strong and ready to play.

"The reaction now is that we miss him very much. Everybody does. It is always very sad, no matter who it is.

"It is too soon to say how long he will be out for. Hopefully he will have surgery next week."

On Southampton: "Every match in the Premier League is so tough. Football nowadays there are no easy games. Southampton are a very good team. It will be a tough match for us.

"But it is about ourselves and how strong we can be."

  4. Cajuste 'a good addition to the group'published at 14:00 British Summer Time 22 August

Manchester City v Ipswich Town (Sat, 15:00 BST)

    Ipswich Town

Ipswich boss Kieran McKenna was also asked about what new signing Jens Cajuste will add: "He's a different profile to the midfielders we already have, he's a very talented player - he picked up good experience especially in the French and Italian leagues in the last few years.

"With Kalvin [Phillips] coming in last week we feel like we're strong in the midfield areas now.

"Jens is a really good size, really good physique. He covers ground really well and he takes the ball well in deep positions. We feel he's more comfortable in a midfield double pivot or as one of two midfielders.

"He gives us different attributes and a different profile to what we have. There will be a period of adjustment but I think he's going to be a good addition to the group."

  5. 'We are stretched'published at 13:58 British Summer Time 22 August

Tottenham v Everton (Sat, 15:00 BST)

    Everton

On the importance of bouncing back after the opening day defeat to Brighton, Sean Dyche: "They are all big games in the Premier League but this is about reacting on this occasion. Tottenham are a tough task, they are very strong and have invested heavily. We are stretched.

"We are down to about 14 recognised first-team players, so that is not perfect. But the challenge is right in front of us as always."

On the home loss: "The positives were that it was a very thorough performance until two very big mistakes.

"They [the players] are searching for true fitness and we have got a few more that might not be available this weekend.

"There haven’t been too many easy rides since I’ve been here and we are immediately back to square one again. That is just Everton!"

In response to whether he expects a busy transfer week, Everton boss Sean Dyche said: "I think it is unlikely. We have worked hard in this market to bring in players who can grow into the club and the Premier League. We believe they are talented players.

"We worked very hard to get those deals done, then we have lost some players, so there is not much more wiggle room.

"The club seem steadfast with the business we have done."

  7. Toffees team news as more injury blowspublished at 13:53 British Summer Time 22 August

Tottenham v Everton (Sat, 15:00 BST)

    Everton

Everton boss Sean Dyche has spoken to the media before Saturday's game at Tottenham. He said on team news: "Jarrad Branthwaite is still a bit away. He is not close [to a return] at the moment. A few of the lads like Seamus Coleman and James Garner are getting a bit closer and have just come back into training with the group.

"James Tarkowski has got a ‘maybe’ situation so we will have to look at that going into the next game. We obviously know the right-back situation with Ashley Young now suspended as well.

"It is an ongoing challenge. We haven’t got much financially to correct it so we are just going to work with the players and hope they can get back to being fit and then stay fit."

Nottingham Forest boss Nuno Espirito Santo is also in the hot seat before his side take on Southampton in the Premier League on Saturday and he said on signing left-back Alex Moreno on loan from Aston Villa: "I think he can give us another option at full-back. He is a good player and as a club we had the chance to bring him in."

On links to Arsenal striker Eddie Nketiah: "Anything can happen in a transfer window, right to the last day. I always say it is more important to keep the players here.

"Every club will try and add to their squad right to the deadline. At Forest it will be the same. We have to be ready to react."

Ipswich boss Kieran McKenna has been speaking to the press before Saturday's Premier League game away at Manchester City.

He was asked about how he feels the team have adapted to the league following their first match against Liverpool: "It was a great experience for us to go through; the most overriding feeling after the game was positivity and the group came away more confident from the game that we can be competitive this season.

"We felt first-hand how a team the calibre of Liverpool can go through the gears, and they became a huge threat very quickly and had a number of big chances in quick succession so we need to manage that better."

On Manchester City: "You could say it's an even bigger challenge this week - the big goal is to get points but underneath that it's about coming out the weekend stronger and we use these first two games as a way to fast-track our adjustment to the league."

My memory of MOTD is recording it on VHS during the mid to late 90s (the best premier league era) as a 10-15 year old as I wasn’t allowed to stay up until it was on. I’d then fast forward through all the interviews and punditry after every match as I only wanted to see actual football. It was a fine line between fast forwarding too slow and it taking too long and too fast and possibly spoiling the start of the next game.

    West Ham United

West Ham boss Julen Lopetegui was also asked how the club's new signings are settling in: "They're not all in the same way because they've been with us for different amounts of time. It's a process but the season is long and they're all going to help us hugely.

"We've tried to adapt with the new players and we have to balance everything and try to be competitive."

On potential further transfer activity: "In this time before the market closes, for everyone it's still not certain who might come and go. We have to adapt.

"My focus is on the players who are here. They all have to be ready and that's all we're thinking about. We don't want to talk about players who aren't here, although it's true that anything can happen."

Lopetegui says he would prefer the transfer market to close before the season begins: "What I prefer doesn't matter, but it's true that you have to keep competing in the market while working towards games. Once the market is closed I think the players are fully focused but we have to adapt. For sure I would prefer the market to be closed before the start of the season."

On midfielder Edson Alvarez: "He has been out for a while and he is progressing well, but let's see. Until tomorrow we're not going to have a clear view of how our squad looks."

My all time MOTD memory was my brother and I avoiding all football related news on the final day of the 2012 season, we were left with our jaws on the floor as they flicked between the two matches before that Aguero goal! Also, as Leeds United fans we did rather enjoy the faces dropping at Old Trafford.

Newcastle may be considering alternatives, potentially as a negotiating tactic, but their interest in Crystal Palace defender Marc Guehi remains alive.

The 24-year-old is braced for a further approach from the Magpies after seeing four bids rising to £65m turned down.

Guehi is ready to move this summer if the option becomes available, with two years remaining on his contract in south London.

But Palace are reluctant to lose both centre-backs after agreeing a fee with Fulham to sell Joachim Andersen for around £30m.

Palace's chairman Steve Parish had told BBC Sport, "I can’t imagine a situation where we would lose both of our centre-halves."

But an increased fifth bid could be enough to finally convince Parish as he would be walking away from the best possible fee he could get for Guehi, with a sale next summer likely to be for less as his contract runs into its final year.

    Southampton

Southampton boss Russell Martin also spoke on their first home game back in the Premier League: "Going to be really exciting for us. Last time we were there was West Brom in semi-finals of the playoffs - was incredible.

"The atmosphere was one of best I’ve heard so if we can get anywhere near that, that would be amazing. It is just reward for fans after last season and support they showed, the connection between them and the team, I hope everyone can enjoy it."

And finally on their defeat against Newcastle: "I enjoyed so much the performance against Newcastle because they are a difficult team, but my overriding feeling is frustration and disappointment at losing.

"If we can take performance level we had, and take the anger and frustration at result, then we can feel much better after this Saturday's game and our first game back in the Premier League at St Mary's."

  19. Saints 'not' in race for signing Clarkepublished at 12:58 British Summer Time 22 August

Southampton v Nottingham Forest (Sat, 15:00 BST)

    Southampton

Southampton boss Russell Martin added on Sunderland winger Jack Clarke, who Saints have been linked with: "He is a player who has played very well in the Championship over the past few seasons.

"We are linked with a number of players and some are miles away, some I’ve never even heard of, others have been one chat or a few videos.

"That position is not one we are light on numbers in at the moment; Ben Brereton Diaz plays there, we have other guys who can operate there, so it is not high on the priority list right now.

"He is a very talented player, his agent is a good friend of mine, they would know if we are in that race right now and we are not."
