Fabian Hurzeler's final question was on going into Saturday's game with a better record against Manchester United in recent seasons: "It would be a little too much if I said we are the favourites, but we are building on the foundations of what have been left.

"Manchester United are a big club but we shouldn’t hide. We should have respect and prepare for the game as best as we can but we have our own ambitions and we should go into the game with our own self confidence."

On Danny Welbeck and how having experienced players is helping him, Fabian Hurzeler said: "I am listening to experienced players because I can also learn from them. They have experienced more things on the pitch than me. I am not afraid to say that because I can learn from listening to their opinions.

"I can use that then to prepare for the match against Manchester United because he [Welbeck] has also played there and has some more knowledge about the club and their players. I would be silly if I didn’t use it. But it is then my part to make the decisions for the game."
