    Bristol City XI

Liam Manning has made two changes to the Bristol City XI beaten at home by Swansea on Sunday.

Luke McNally misses out with an ACL injury while Nahki Wells drops to the bench with Sinclair Armstrong handed a start and Ross McCrorie recalled.

Mark Robins has made three changes to the Potters XI which triumphed at Hull City on 1 February.

Andrew Moran, Lewis Baker and Ben Gibson return with Lynden Gooch and Enda Stevens out and Bae Jun-ho dropping to the bench.

Bristol City v Stoke (19:45 GMT)

This should be a doozy. One team stuttering in the play-off race and the other trying to extend their three-point cushion above the drop zone.

Five points separate 10 teams from sixth to 15th but the Robins are losing a bit of ground, slipping to 10th last night.

They have won just one of their past six in all competitions and are winless in their past three against Stoke, losing the past two meetings at Ashton Gate.

Mark Robins has already picked up a point in Bristol this season with Coventry in August, though he's only won two of his nine visits there as a manager, with Huddersfield 12 years ago and the Sky Blues in 2021-22.

Stoke ended a seven-match winless streak on their travels with a 2-1 win at Hull City in their most recent league game, and are looking to make it back-to-back away wins for the first time in nearly a year.

They also produced an epic comeback in the FA Cup against Cardiff on Saturday, only to be edged-out on spot-kicks to miss out on a fifth round tie at Aston Villa.

  3. Clarets unchanged, Tigers swap fourpublished at 19:27 Greenwich Mean Time 12 February

Burnley v Hull City (19:45 GMT)

    Burnley XI

Perhaps unsurprisingly Scott Parker has named the same Clarets XI which started Burnley’s last Championship game, a 1-0 win over Oxford United last Tuesday.

Saturday's FA Cup match-winner Marcus Edwards again starts from the bench.

Ruben Selles has rung the changes after Hull City's the 2-1 defeat to Stoke on 1 February.

Lewie Coyle returns to skipper the side, new arrival John Egan starts in defence while Matt Crooks gets the nod in midfield and Kyle Joseph starts up top, with Joao Pedro, Regan Slater, Matty Jacob and Cody Drameh all named on the bench, along with Louie Barry.

Best get the record books out again...

It's been 820 minutes since Watford's Kwadwo Baah popped in a consolation in a 2-1 defeat at Turf Moor on 21 December.

Burnley keeper James Trafford has kept nine clean sheets in the league since then and, if he repeats the feat tonight, it will be the first time any second-tier side has gone 10 without conceding. In fact only seven teams in EFL history have achieved that milestone, the most recent being Torquay in August 2010.

The Tigers have lost 10 of their past 14 games at Turf Moor, but have picked up 1-1 draws on their two most recent visits, while Ruben Selles' men are seeking a record of their own - they have won their past three away games without conceding... they have never done that in four straight.

If you're looking for goals tonight then this might not be your best bet. Burnley’s 31 Championship games have seen 46 goals at an average of 1.48 per game, which is on course for the lowest goals-per-game ratio for any team in EFL history.

Both sides need the points, the Clarets are third, eight points adrift of leaders Leeds and three behind Sheffield United, while City begin the night in the drop-zone, though a victory could take them up three places to 19th.

  5. Bellingham back for Sunderland; Doughty out for Lutonpublished at 19:20 Greenwich Mean Time 12 February

    Sunderland v Luton (19:45 GMT)

    Sunderland team

Sunderland have recalled defender Dan Ballard and midfielder Jobe Bellingham to their starting XI.

Luton give a first start to striker Millenic Alli, who joined from Exeter during the transfer window, but Alfie Doughty is out with a hamstring injury.

    Luton team
  6. Sunderland aim to keep pace with leaderspublished at 19:17

    Sunderland v Luton (19:45 GMT)

Sunderland's past three Championship games have yielded a total of 13 goals but the fourth-placed Black Cats have taken just five points from those fixtures.

They are unbeaten in the league in 2025 but, because the relentless form of Leeds, Sheffield United and Burnley above them, they start tonight's game against Luton five points off the top two.

Luton have not won since 20 December and have taken two points from their four league games since Matt Bloomfield succeeded Rob Edwards as manager.

A big few weeks lie ahead for the Hatters - they face four clubs currently alongside them in the bottom seven before the end of March.

  7. Three changes for Plymouth; four for Millwallpublished at 19:14 Greenwich Mean Time 12 February

    Plymouth v Millwall (19:45 GMT)

    Plymouth team

There are three changes to the Plymouth starting XI that beat Premier League leaders Liverpool on Sunday.

Their match-winner against the Reds, Ryan Hardie, who has scored three goals in his past two appearances, starts for Argyle.

Millwall make four changes from their FA Cup win at Leeds, with Lukas Jensen returning in goal, while January signing Camiel Neghli makes his first Championship start.

After the euphoria of knocking Premier League leaders Liverpool out of the FA Cup and being drawn against Manchester City in round five, it's back to the reality of the Championship survival battle for Plymouth Argyle.

Bottom club Argyle beat West Bromwich Albion last time out in the league but not even a win at Home Park this evening will be enough to lift Miron Muslic's side out of the bottom three.

They take on Millwall, who caused an FA Cup surprise of their own at the weekend by winning at Championship leaders Leeds to reach the last 16.

That was a fourth successive victory in all competitions for Alex Neil's side, who are 14th in the table but only five points off the play-off spots at the start of play.

    Championship bottom

Derby's draw with Oxford United last night at least pulled them out of the bottom three but they could be back in it come 10pm with Luton and Hull City having the chance to jump above them,

Luton are at Sunderland while the Tigers visit Burnley.

Plymouth Argyle have to put their FA Cup heroics behind them and start gathering points if they're to put pressure on the teams directly above them and they host Millwall.

Stoke City remain in peril ahead of their trip to Bristol City .

  10. Top of the tablepublished at 19:07 Greenwich Mean Time 12 February

    Championship top

As we just mentioned Leeds did what was required of them with the 4-0 thrashing of Watford last night and it's now down to the chasing pack to keep the pressure on.

Sheffield United can close to within two points of the leaders by beating play-off hopefuls Middlesbrough.

Defeat for the Blades would let in Burnley if they pick up three points at home to Hull City.

Sunderland are unbeaten in seven league games ahead of their meeting with Luton.

West Brom against Blackburn has huge implications in the play-off race while Bristol City could finish the night in sixth place with a win over Stoke.
