Rashford is looking fantastic. He's looked sharp in all the games so far this season and was just missing a goal.

The Eagles have gone strong tonight with Oliver Glasner doing what more Premier League managers should do and field a strong side and look to win the match.

Absolutely stunning full moon hovering above Goodison Park tonight.

Trying to find a pic of it, one from the mobile isn't doing it justice.

  5. Ketchup bottle is still openpublished at 20:26 British Summer Time 17 September

    Manchester United 1-0 Barnsley

    Simon Stone
BBC Sport's chief football news reporter at Old Trafford

Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag likened Marcus Rashford to a ketchup bottle when he scored his first goal of the season at Southampton on Saturday.

The thought process was after hardly scoring last season, now he had finally broken his duck he wouldn't stop.

Well, the cap is still off the bottle.

Rashford ran at Marc Roberts with purpose and smashed his shot into the Barnsley net.

It is the first time he has scored in successive games since March.

    Blackpool 0-1 Sheff Wed

Jordan Rhodes, formerly of Sheffield Wednesday, looks to get the home side level in double-quick time with an effort from a long, long way out.

Thankfully for Owls goalkeeper Pierce Charles it drifts wide.

    Ryan Ledson (35 mins)

    BOOM!

The ball drops to midfielder Ryan Ledson on the edge of the box, who hits it first time into the corner of the net.

A pure strike, which was against the run of play.

    Di'Shon Bernard (34 mins)

    This one will count!

Di'Shon Bernard, who had the ball in the net earlier on only for it to be ruled out for offside, gives the Championship team the lead with a smart close range finish.

A deep cross into the box by Pol Valentin is headed back across goal by Michael Smith at the back stick and there's the former Manchester United defender to crash home.

That's his first goal since January 2021.

"You're not singing anymore," is the chant from those tough Southampton fans who have travelled a long way on this Tuesday night.

  11. 'Rashford at his very best'published at 20:19 British Summer Time 17 September

    Manchester United 1-0 Barnsley

Well it's a fantastic ball initially by Alejandro Garnacho. On the left hand side, he just cuts in with his right foot and he plays a long diagonal right into the path of Marcus Rashford. He's still got so much to do.

It's a fantastic first touch. Goalkeeper dives to his left to his near post. Rashford whips it high and across and into the top right hand corner. It's a fantastic individual goal.

    Marcus Rashford (16 mins)

A lovely goal for Manchester United. Alejandro Garnacho, in the centre circle, sprays a delightful cross-field pass to the right flank and Marcus Rashford takes a good first touch and then does well to cut inside Marc Roberts to get into the penalty area.

Rashford then shows fine composure to send Gaga Slonina in the Barnsley goal the wrong way with the England man firing high into the top corner.

    Blackpool 0-0 Sheff Wed

The Championship side have the ball in the net through defender Di'Shon Bernard's header but the assistant's flag is up and it wont count.

The away side have had the better of things so far.

  15. 'Impressed with Barnsley'published at 20:14 British Summer Time 17 September

    Manchester United 0-0 Barnsley

    Paul Robinson
Former England goalkeeper on BBC Radio 5 Sports Extra

I've been impressed with Barnsley and the way they've set up and the way they've started this game.

They're clearly in a formation with five at the back, out of possession, four in midfield in front of that five but they're not afraid when in possession to spring an attack.

  16. Postpublished at 20:13 British Summer Time 17 September

    Manchester United 0-0 Barnsley

Marcus Rashford scored at the weekend in the 3-0 win at Southampton and comes close to getting one here. He does superbly to jink into the penalty area and from a tight angle he fires across goal, but Barnsley's Marc Roberts is there, with the ball bouncing off his face and away for a corner.

Brave defending and Roberts just about did enough to keep it goalless.

    Preston 0-0 Fulham

Kaine Kesler-Hayden's header is superbly saved by Fulham's Steven Benda, who was at full stretch. The best chance after 20 minutes.

  19. 'Casemiro off the pace'published at 20:10 British Summer Time 17 September

    Manchester United 0-0 Barnsley

    Paul Robinson

It was a poor tackle that by Casemiro. That's two in this game. The referee has been very lenient so far.

Casemiro's mistimed a couple of bad challenges.

We know that he does pick up the odd yellow card. He looks slightly off the pace again tonight.

  20. Postpublished at 20:10 British Summer Time 17 September

    Blackpool 0-0 Sheff Wed

Probably not the biggest surprise that this game hasn't been the most exciting so far, given that the home side have made 10 changes and the away side the full 11.

Still just the one shot of any description in the game, Anthony Musaba shooting wide for the visitors, as we head towards the 25-minute mark.
