    Cardiff 0-0 Burnley

    Glen Little
Ex-Burnley winger on BBC Radio Lancashire

It was a good start from Cardiff and Burnley managed to answer all the questions asked of them early on.

The game has started to settle down a bit now.

  2. Postpublished at 20:03 Greenwich Mean Time 4 March

    Cardiff 0-0 Burnley

Defensive records aside, Burnley need a win tonight to close the gap back to two points between themselves and second-placed Sheffield United.

Cardiff also have a five-point gap on their minds - it's what separates them from the relegation zone.

It hasn't quite caught alight yet.

  3. Postpublished at 20:02 Greenwich Mean Time 4 March

    Millwall 0-0 Bristol City

Decent opening just now for Bristol City, with Sinclair Armstrong galloping onto Jason Knight's ball over the top and winning a corner.

City caught the Millwall defence out with the set-piece, finding George Earthy in space but the midfielder's effort on the turn was fumbled behind by Lukas Jensen.

  4. Postpublished at 19:59 Greenwich Mean Time 4 March

    Preston 0-0 Swansea

Both these sides are playing some attractive open stuff.

  5. Postpublished at 19:57 Greenwich Mean Time 4 March

    Millwall 0-0 Bristol City

Very little to excite the crowd in the opening 10 minutes - not that you could ever describe the Millwall faithful as overly quiet.

At least they've managed to navigate these opening stages with a keeper still on the pitch, unlike in Saturday's FA Cup tie just down the road at Selhurst Park.

  6. Postpublished at 19:57 Greenwich Mean Time 4 March

    Cardiff 0-0 Burnley

Just the one shot on goal so far with Burnley's Jaidon Anthony seeing his effort safely held by Ethan Horvath.

1101 minutes in case you were counting...

  7. Burnley's mythical defencepublished at 19:53 Greenwich Mean Time 4 March

    Cardiff 0-0 Burnley

    Michael Pearlman
BBC Sport Wales at the Cardiff City Stadium

It's been a lovely day in south Wales, but it is decidedly colder this evening.

Winter has come for every opponent that has tried to breach the Burley wall in 2025, with Championship goals scored against the Clarets the stuff of myth and legend, coming over 1090 minutes ago.

Can the Clarets silence the Welsh dragon's roar tonight and allow me to continue this contrived Game of Thrones-inspired effort? Or will it be an evening where the Blades end up inching closer to the Iron Throne of Premier League football?

  8. Postpublished at 19:52 Greenwich Mean Time 4 March

    Hull 0-0 Plymouth

Hull are first to threaten in this relegation battle, with Joao Pedro hauled down on the edge of the box to earn his side a free-kick in a dangerous position.

He hands responsibility for the kick to Joe Gelhardt, who attempts to thread a left-foot shot around the wall but doesn't succeed and the ball is deflected behind for a corner.

  9. Postpublished at 19:51 Greenwich Mean Time 4 March

    Preston 0-0 Swansea

A mess at the back for Preston.

Playing out from the back Lewis Gibson gifts possession to Liam Cullen but Freddie Woodman is out at the Swansea man's feet to save.

    Preston so sloppy.

  10. 'Cardiff are looking quite confident'published at 19:50 Greenwich Mean Time 4 March

    Cardiff 0-0 Burnley

    Glen Little
Ex-Burnley winger on BBC Radio Lancashire

Cardiff are knocking it about a bit the last few minutes, and are having a fair bit off possession.

They are looking quite confident so far.

  11. Postpublished at 19:49 Greenwich Mean Time 4 March

    Cardiff 0-0 Burnley

A decent start from Cardiff who are seeing plenty of the ball in the early stages.

Can they be the ones to breach the Burnley back line?

Remember we started tonight at 1090 minutes since the Clarets conceded a league goal.

  12. 'Millwall is always a tough place to come'published at 19:48 Greenwich Mean Time 4 March

    Millwall 0-0 Bristol City

    Keith Millen
Ex-Bristol City defender and manager on BBC Radio Bristol

You look at the Bristol City team and there are a lot of good players in the team, and you can understand why they are a possession based squad.

However, Millwall is always a tough place to come, the atmosphere can be quite intimidating. So, I am looking at City to be brave and really try to control the game.

I think the way Millwall are playing at the moment we are going to be looking forward to a really good game tonight.

Andrew Hughes, Ryan Porteous, Jayden Meghoma and Stefan Thordarson are among the substitutes with Liam Lindsay, Will Keane, Rob Brady and Brad Potts getting the nod to start.

Swansea caretaker Alan Sheehan, perhaps unsurprisingly, goes with the same side which beat Blackburn 3-0.

Bali Mumba, Julio Pleguezelo, Matthew Sorinola and Darko Gyabi all feature in the starting XI for Plymouth, but skipper Adam Randell is out.

  18. 'Plymouth are going to be hard to break down'published at 19:34 Greenwich Mean Time 4 March

    Hull v Plymouth (19:45 GMT)

    Peter Swan
Former Hull City player on BBC Radio Humberside

Plymouth are going to be hard to break down, even though they are a struggling team. They have got a new manager who has brought in different ideas but you just look at Hull's last few away games, we are suited to playing better away from home.

When Ruben Selles goes for the defensive-minded formation he keeps things solid, and he can catch teams on the counter attack.

When it comes to home games, has he got the players to go out and attack and go and win games?

When you go out and try to win a game like he will tonight, that is what scares you as you open yourself up - Hull are definitely better when set up defensively.

  19. Parker pressing onpublished at 19:31 Greenwich Mean Time 4 March

Cardiff City v Burnley (19:45 GMT)

Burnley boss Scott ParkerImage source, Rex Features

There was a blip for Burnley on Saturday with their 3-0 FA Cup exit at the hands of Lancashire rivals Preston forcing boss Scott Parker to defend making nine changes to his team for the tie at Deepdale.

Goalkeeper James Trafford, defender CJ Egan-Riley and forward Zian Flemming were among the first-teamers to be rested but Parker came out strongly to reject any criticism.

"It wasn't a difficult decision," he told BBC Radio Lancashire.

"If you win the tie, like we did at Southampton (in round four), it gets wiped away."

Burnley conceded more goals on Saturday than they had in their previous 15 games in all competitions and Parker is keen the put it behind them quickly.

"We have got a quick turnaround for another big game at Cardiff. I need to manage the squad."

  20. No FA Cup distractions at Prestonpublished at 19:28 Greenwich Mean Time 4 March

    Preston v Swansea (19:45 GMT)

Preston boss Paul Heckingbottom coaching his players on the touchlineImage source, Rex Features

Paul Heckingbottom wants to ban talk of the FA Cup quarter-final against Aston Villa as his full focus is on Preston North End's Championship game against Swansea City.

North End are 15th but could close within seven points of the play-off places with a victory tonight.

Heckingbottom says it's not an "insurmountable" gap to close in the final 12 games, despite taking just five points from their five matches before Saturday's 3-0 win over Burnley, which teed-up the date with Villa in the last eight.

"It's not insurmountable, but something's got to change," Heckingbottom told BBC Radio Lancashire. "I have been happy with our form in terms of performances but our points haul needs to change totally.

"It's not out of the realms of possibility, but something needs to change in a big way because of the amount of traffic between us and sixth place.

"That's why these games, for me, are bigger than when we play Villa. That will take care of itself, but all these league games are really important.

"Everyone's excited about Villa, I'm not, I'm thinking about Swansea and everyone should be. People walking around talking about Villa tickets - let's beat Swansea, that's it."

The Lilywhites swept aside their Lancashire rivals in the fifth round, scoring more goals in one game than the Clarets had conceded in their previous 15 in all competitions.

"If we perform like we did at the weekend we'll give Swansea a hard time," Heckingbottom added.

"The challenge for all of us is to go and deliver the same type of performance and almost forget who we're up against, focus on ourselves to deliver our best game."
