  2. CLOSE!published at 20:15 Greenwich Mean Time 22 January

    Arsenal 1-0 Dinamo Zagreb

Should have been two for Arsenal. Martin Odegaard's delivery from an Arsenal right-wing corner is excellent as usual and Gabriel is there to meet the ball with a powerful downward header.

The resulting scream of frustration is a sign he knows he should have scored, instead of nodding it just wide.

Alex: City’s midfield taking an absolute battering so far here, matter of time before PSG take the lead.

You will get any handball in this competition if the ball strikes the hand. I thought it did but the referee hasn't given it.

    PSG 0-0 Man City

Erling Haaland tries to play the ball to Phil Foden but it ends up with Savinho, who has a shot blocked by Marquinhos. The loose ball comes to Kevin de Bruyne, whose shot is saved.

    PSG 0-0 Man City

It should be 1-0. Neves ghosts in behind Mathues Nunes and gets his head on it and should really get that on target, If he does, he probably scores.

Credit to Arteta changing the selection: Jorginho is there to allow Rice the freedom to roam further forward and it's working so far.

    Arsenal 1-0 Dinamo Zagreb

Ronael Pierre-Gabriel finds himself free down the left channel for Dinamo Zagreb, but Jurrien Timber is across to cover and block the shot, which was probably going well wide anyway. Still, decent defending and good pace shown from Timber.

Big chance for PSG. Joao Neves is completely free six yards out from a right-wing free-kick cross but heads over the bar.

I really wasn't sure about this new league based Champions League format. Have to say, I've been pleasantly surprised. Loads of goals, shock results and some big names could disappear even before the knockout stages. However, saying that. I would still love to go back to the days when Big Ears was contested only by the champions of each country, with no easy way through to final by seeding.

Manchester City defender Ruben Dias gets a deserved yellow card for blocking off Achraf Hakimi's run onto a return ball.

Nick: How does Sterling start? He's contributed nothing all season.

Andrew: Why is Arteta starting Sterling ahead of Trossard? In fact why is Arteta starting Sterling period? I have no idea why Arsenal signed him.

Lads, you're winning after two minutes. Relax.

  13. Postpublished at 20:10 Greenwich Mean Time 22 January

    Arsenal 1-0 Dinamo Zagreb

Martin Odegaard with a delightful reverse pass and it finds goalscorer Declan Rice on the edge of the penalty area, sniffing out a potential second goal.

He may have got it too had it not been for an excellent full-length last-ditch block from visiting captain Arijan Ademi.

    All Arsenal.

Arsenal will probably go up to third if they get the three points. It could yet come to down to goal difference to advance from the top eight and the way they've started, they will be confident of boosting that significantly tonight.
