Former Celtic striker on BBC Radio 5 Live

Newcastle are just trying to get a foothold into the game in terms of keeping possession. Manchester City are dropping into a fairly low block.

Savinho nearly jinks his way from the centre circle all the way through the Newcastle defence, but Lewis Hall calmly sees away the danger.

An even start to this battle of the top four contenders.

    Southampton 0-0 Bournemouth

Southampton have responded well after a bright start by Bournemouth and Lewis Cook is booked as he swipes Kamaldeen Sulemana's legs as the forward was about to speed away.

  4. Postpublished at 15:08 Greenwich Mean Time 15 February

    Manchester City 0-0 Newcastle

Without the ball, Newcastle are playing with five at the back. Jacob Murphy is tucking in at right back to combat Josko Gvardiol playing very high up from the left side of defence for Manchester City.

City meanwhile are practically playing with two at the back while in possession.

  5. Postpublished at 15:07 Greenwich Mean Time 15 February

    Aston Villa 0-0 Ipswich

A wry smile from Liam Delap as the offside flag goes up. He was well off there, and so was his shot.

Pep Guardiola, Manager of Manchester City, reactsImage source, Getty Images

We have only been playing a matter of minutes and already Pep Guardiola has expressed his fury at the ball not being quickly moved out to the left side of the pitch rather than back to Ederson.

He spun round in anger, pointed at the offending players and then slumped on the bench with a bottle of water and told his coaches what was going wrong.

Now he is having a chat with fourth official Tim Robinson. All is not well in Pep's world right now.

  7. Postpublished at 15:06 Greenwich Mean Time 15 February

    Manchester City 0-0 Newcastle

Erling Haaland - captaining Man City for the first time today - streaks onto an excellent direct through ball from Josko Gvardiol.

But a heavy touch by Haaland allows Dan Burn to nip in with a good sliding tackle.

    Kevin Schade (4 mins)

An early goal for the visitors!

Kevin Schade's first shot deflects up off Alphonse Areola and Schade reacts quickest to stab the loose ball just over the line.

That's the 10th goal this season West Ham have scored in the opening 10 minutes.

There's a check by VAR for offside, but the goal stands.

  10. 'Newcastle all about being effective'published at 15:05 Greenwich Mean Time 15 February

    Manchester City 0-0 Newcastle

    Chris Sutton
Former Celtic striker on BBC Radio 5 Live

It would be no surprise if Newcastle walked away with three points. I don't think they're overly bothered about possession. Under Eddie Howe they're all about being effective and boy, have they been effective across recent weeks.

  11. Postpublished at 15:04 Greenwich Mean Time 15 February

    Manchester City 0-0 Newcastle

Three of the four January signings for Manchester City start today - Abdukodir Khusanov, Nico Gonzalez and Omar Marmoush, with Vitor Reis the only one to miss out.

Gonzalez makes his Premier League bow, having had a bruising introduction to English football against Leyton Orient in the FA Cup last weekend.

Morgan Rogers is furious! He's convinced Ipswich keeper Alex Palmer has prevented him going through on goal after a ball over the top from John McGinn.

VAR will have a look. But it's not even a free-kick is given.

  13. Postpublished at 15:03 Greenwich Mean Time 15 February

Bournemouth could climb up into the top four today and they have started like they mean business, winning two corners in the opening couple of minutes.

Abdukodir Khusanov is making his second league start for Manchester City today.

It is already going better for the Uzbek than his first Premier League game, when he made a horrendous early error to give Chelsea the lead.

Man City v Newcastle (15:00 GMT)

    Simon Stone
BBC Sport's chief football news reporter at the Etihad Stadium

Given the issues Manchester City have had to deal with this season, I suspect Pep Guardiola won't be too downcast if his time find themselves in fourth - the prize for victory - by the end of the game.

Yet today his injury woes continue, with Ruben Dias, Manuel Akanji and Nathan Ake all missing.

It means a first Premier League start for Abdukodir Khusanov since his baptism of fire against Chelsea, when he gave a goal away and was booked inside the first five minutes.

  17. 'We believe in the team'published at 14:59 Greenwich Mean Time 15 February

    FT: Leicester City 0-2 Arsenal

    Leicester City

Leicester's Wilfred Ndidi, speaking to TNT Sports: "Bit gutted as we lost a difficult game.

"It is not a mentality thing. When hey scored we needed to comeback and do more.

"When they scored the second one it was too late."

  18. Skipper Haalandpublished at 14:59 Greenwich Mean Time 15 February

Man City v Newcastle (15:00 GMT)

    Simon Stone
BBC Sport's chief football news reporter at the Etihad Stadium

It is interesting Pep Guardiola has handed the captain's armband to Erling Haaland.

Ilkay Gundogan did the job before he left for Barcelona in 2013, while Phil Foden and John Stones have clearly been at the club far longer.

Haaland is sure of his starting place I suppose.

  19. 'I believe the results will come one day'published at 14:58 Greenwich Mean Time 15 February

    FT: Leicester 0-2 Arsenal

    Leicester City

Ruud van Nistelrooy, Manager of Leicester City, reactsImage source, Getty Images

Leicester boss Ruud van Nistelrooy speaking to BBC Match of the Day: "Thin margins. The chance of Bobby just by Lewis-Skelly, you can get up with a game in a goal. That makes it hard.

"We did what we could for all parts of the game. Playing out and playing in certain moments when we could. We didn't really look long. Two chances from Ndidi with the header and the volley. You need some luck to get a goal and go up against a side like this.

"The players know and are disappointed that we couldn't take anything from the game. Arsenal are contending for the title so we know if we keep putting in performances like this then eventually you're going to win games and pick up points.

On James Justin: "It was an unfortunate moment to take him off before half-time. He couldn't continue so it's definitely something.

"It's ups and downs. When you are a promoted team and fighting for the bottom places, you have to deal with losing games but it's a matter of keeping working. I believe the results will come one day."

  20. 'Nwaneri is like Messi'published at 14:57 Greenwich Mean Time 15 February

    FT: Leicester 0-2 Arsenal

    Arsenal

Former Arsenal defender Martin Keown, speaking on TNT Sports about Ethan Nwaneri: "Where will he end up playing? It's a nice problem when Bukayo Saka gets back fit.

"He was immense, coming back off the line, stepping in. He looks so assured, his decision making is different class."

Former England forward Joe Cole on Nwaneri: "These little touches in and around the box - I don't even want to say it, but it's like Lionel Messi. I don't want to put any more pressure on him, but the touches off the back foot entices the defender, then the touch off the toe to send him off balance. He plays with such confidence, a beautiful player.

"Arsenal and Mikel Arteta have to protect him, they would have liked him to only play 60, 70 minutes today."

    No pressure, Ethan.
