  1. HALF-TIME Motherwell 2-0 Rangerspublished at 15:54 Greenwich Mean Time 29 December 2024

Motherwell fans are lapping this up.

Neat finishes from Apostolos Stamatelopoulous and Tawanda Maswanhise have them on track for the first league win against Rangers at Fir Park since Boxing Day 2002.

Phillipe Clement's side have dominated possession but have shirked at the sight of goal and have not troubled Aston Oxborough at all.

A huge 45 minutes coming up for the Ibrox boss who made seven changes from the team that lost to St Mirren.

  2. HALF-TIME Ross County 0-1 Heartspublished at 15:52 Greenwich Mean Time 29 December 2024

The only goal of the game so far came after just 80 seconds.

It was the 17-year-old who nabbed it - James Wilson, the bright light in Hearts' dismal season so far.

County have had a lot of the ball without testing Craig Gordon too often, while Hearts have forced a few quick saves from Jordan Amissah.

Hopefully the rain lightens up and we get a decent second half.

  3. HALF-TIME Hibernian 1-0 Kilmarnockpublished at 15:52 Greenwich Mean Time 29 December 2024

A glancing header from Nectar Triantis has put Hibernian on course for their fourth consecutive win.

Neither side has really dominated proceedings, although the home side have crafted the better chances - with Junior Hoilett left blushing after missing an almighty sitter early on.

Much improvement will be needed from Kilmarnock, who look nothing like the team who demolished Aberdeen on Boxing Day.

  4. HALF-TIME St Mirren 1-1 Dundeepublished at 15:51 Greenwich Mean Time 29 December 2024

This game has been all about the quality of the crosses.

Both goals were products of fine right wing-back deliveries with Josh Mulligan setting up Simon Murray for Dundee before Elvis Bwomono picked out Toyosi Olusanya to equalise for St Mirren.

The hosts have been the dominant side but it remains level at the break.

  5. HALF-TIME Celtic 1-0 St Johnstonepublished at 15:51 Greenwich Mean Time 29 December 2024

Despite a dominant 45 minutes from the hosts at Celtic Park, St Johnstone are only one goal behind the league leaders.

Still a massive second half to go, you wonder if Simo Valakari's side can hold on and keep the score down.

Wouldn't like to be in the Rangers dressing room in a few minutes...

That goal by Nectar Triantis has set Hibernian up for their fourth win in a row.

If they do so, it will be the first time they have achieved that feat in over two years.

    Hibernian 1-0 Kilmarnock

The home team send in a flurry of corners, but all the deliveries are hampered by the strengthening gusts and no clear-cut chances fall their way.

Meanwhile, Kilmarnock have struggled to out their own half in the last 10 minutes.

Good response from St Mirren to going behind. Dundee had the wind in their sails for a while until a nice diving header from Toyosi Olusanya gets the home fans up off their seats and singing.

    Motherwell 2-0 Rangers

Oscar Cortes, what are you doing?

It's a well-worked move from Rangers as they charge forward with pace. It's shifted out to Cortes on the left and he opens up his body to shoot, then gets it so horribly wrong.

    Not even close.

Great cross from Elvis Bwomono to pick out Toyosi Olusanya who heads in his eighth goal of the season!

Very similar to Dundee's opener with both teams now scoring from their right wing backs' crosses.

Wow! What a great goal from Motherwell. And it came from very little too. Tawanda Maswanhise's did so well to control the ball, then the turn and the finish... All brilliant skill from the Zimbabwean.

Rangers don't look overly comfortable. In contrast, Motherwell are brimming with confidence.

Just as these home supporters were celebrating Nicolas Kuhn, who delivered yet another decisive moment, that news from Fir Park filtered through to a joyous reception.

That lead at the top looks likely to grow ahead of a trip to Ibrox on Thursday.

Everything is falling perfectly for Celtic right now in stark contrast to their main rivals.

    They keep it alive, Motherwell.

Boy does Maswanhise do well, the touch, the turn and the finish. He's under severe pressure but picks his spot.

The confidence will be oozing out of Motherwell.

  15. GREAT SAVE!published at 15:36 Greenwich Mean Time 29 December 2024

    Celtic 1-0 St Johnstone

Nicolas Kuhn would have a second goal if not for an excellent save by Josh Rae.

The German winger fires his strike towards the top corner and Rae palms it away for a corner.

    That is magnificent, Tawanda Maswanhise!

The touch, the turn, the finish, it's superb and Motherwell are flying.

It's truly woeful defending from Rangers, who couldn't clear the ball at all and allowed it to bounce around before Maswanhise had the time to strike.
