  1. Saints hanging in for nowpublished at 15:28 Greenwich Mean Time 29 December 2024

    Celtic 0-0 St Johnstone

    Martin Dowden
BBC Sport Scotland at Celtic Park

It's as one-way as it gets but St Johnstone are managing to hold a structure to deny too many clear chances. That was the first aim and will bring much-needed confidence.

The crowd seem to be just waiting for this opener, convinced it's not far away. If Celtic get it, the chance to extend that lead in the table even further seems there given current goings on at Fir Park.

    Nectar Triantis

Nectar Triantis finds the net for the first time this season to put the hosts in front.

Nicky Cadden's inswinging corner is just out of reach for Kilmarnock keeper Robby McCrorie, allowing the goalscorer to sneak in front and thump home the opener with a fine header.

    Celtic 0-0 St Johnstone

Arne Engels is denied an opener by Josh Rae.

Hyunjun Yang does well on the left to tee up the midfielder, who shoots straight at the St Johnstone keeper.

  4. 'A really poor header'published at 15:25 Greenwich Mean Time 29 December 2024

    Motherwell 1-0 Rangers

    Derek Ferguson
Former Rangers midfielder on BBC Sportsound

    Danilo should be expecting it.

Yilmaz takes his time, picks him out and it's a really poor header - tame.

  5. Postpublished at 15:25 Greenwich Mean Time 29 December 2024

    Motherwell 1-0 Rangers

    Dearie me, Danilo.

Ridvan Yilmaz does really well again to get down to the byeline and stand up a pin-perfect cross for the forward.

He inexplicably headers it with zero pace, power or precision.

  6. Double change for Dundeepublished at 15:24 Greenwich Mean Time 29 December 2024

    St Mirren 0-0 Dundee

Dundee have played the last few minutes with nine players after Koumetio and McGhee went down injured.

    Motherwell 1-0 Rangers

Some guidance from the Scottish FA on that Motherwell goal...

The ball hits the arm of Apostolos Stamatelopoulos, but it's deemed to be against the body and in a natural position.

  9. ouch!

    Ouch!published at 15:21 Greenwich Mean Time 29 December 2024

    St Mirren 0-0 Dundee

Both Jordan McGhee and Billy Koumetio are down and receiving treatment. This could be a real blow for Dundee with so many experienced first team players already out injured.

  10. Tribute to late O'Donnellpublished at 15:21 Greenwich Mean Time 29 December 2024

    Motherwell 1-0 Rangers

    Jane Lewis
BBC Sport Scotland at Fir Park

A lovely touch before the goal as Motherwell fans stood in tribute to the late Phil O'Donnell. The scoreboard went black as a mark of respect. It's 17 years to the day since the Motherwell player passed away...

    St Mirren 0-0 Dundee

Roland Idowu has Finlay Robertson on toast.

The Irishman is drifting over to the right to have a go at the Dundee youngster who is deputising at left wing-back.

By far St Mirren's brightest spark so far.

  12. 'Toe-poke' from Stamatelopoulospublished at 15:18 Greenwich Mean Time 29 December 2024

    Motherwell 1-0 Rangers

    Derek Ferguson
Former Rangers midfielder on BBC Sportsound

The ball holds up a little bit in the wind and fools the two centre-backs, but they have to deal with it.

It's just a toe-poke from Stamatelopoulos and it's through Jack Butland.

  13. Postpublished at 15:17 Greenwich Mean Time 29 December 2024

    Ross County 0-1 Hearts

A chance for a second for Hearts. Adam Forrester slips Musa Drammeh in behind and his cross to the front post is missed by James Wilson.

A minute later, Hearts come down the other flank and James Penrice fizzes a low cross to Wilson, who connects this time, but Jordan Amissah saves with a foot.

  14. goal

GOAL Motherwell 1-0 Rangerspublished at 15:16 Greenwich Mean Time 29 December 2024

    Apostolos Stamatelopoulos

Speedy Motherwell catch Rangers sleeping at the back.

It's simple wee ball over the backline, Robin Propper is caught in treacle and Apostolos Stamatelopoulos pounces on the bounce to slip the ball underneath Jack Butland in goal.

Propper, and Rangers, are calling for a handball, but, the check is clear and the goal is given.

  15. What a miss!published at 15:15 Greenwich Mean Time 29 December 2024

    Hibernian 0-0 Kilmarnock

A sitter from Junior Hoilett! That has to hit the net.

Martin Boyle picks out the unmarked forward at the back post with a clever cross but, somehow, Hoilett gets his footing wrong and drags the ball wide from five yards out.

Bobby Wales rushes up the other end and fires into the arms of Jordan Smith.

    Celtic 0-0 St Johnstone

Arne Engels plays a magnificent ball towards striker Kyogo Furuhashi who bundles it into the arms of Josh Rae before the flag is raised for offside.

Moments later, Nicolas Kuhn tries to get Celtic in front as he attempts to dance his way into the St Johnstone box but eventually runs out of room after ghosting past numerous challenges.

  17. Postpublished at 15:12 Greenwich Mean Time 29 December 2024

    Motherwell 0-0 Rangers

Quiet calls for a Rangers penalty.

Euan Wilson clears the ball, in rather unorthodox fashion, with his arms tight to his side. It was an odd movement from the Motherwell man but, after a quick check, play continues.

  18. Postpublished at 15:10 Greenwich Mean Time 29 December 2024

    Hibernian 0-0 Kilmarnock

The hosts have been limited to a handful of crosses from the right flank, while the visitors have only threatened via a series of corners in quick succession.

No chances or shots to report from Easter Road yet.

  19. 'Dessers should be scoring'published at 15:09 Greenwich Mean Time 29 December 2024

    Motherwell 0-0 Rangers

    Derek Ferguson
Former Rangers midfielder on BBC Sportsound

It has to be a goal, simple as.

Ridvan Yilmaz's cross is bang on the money, and Cyriel Dessers should be scoring.

  20. Postpublished at 15:09 Greenwich Mean Time 29 December 2024

    Motherwell 0-0 Rangers

Oh what a ball that is from Ridvan Yilmaz.

It's a wicked cross to the back-post for Cyriel Dessers, but the Rangers striker gets it all wrong and ends up barely making contact when it looked a gilt-edged chance.
