    West Brom 0-0 Middlesbrough

    Neil Maddison
Former Middlesbrough midfielder on BBC Tees

A fan from the crowd (Jacob Miles), presumably a qualified official, now has the unenvious task of acting as fourth official after that injury to assistant referee Rob Smith.

We now have a further delay as he has to get all the paraphernalia on, he has to get mic'd up as well.

It is not as simple as grabbing a flag and off you go as it was back in the day!

We will have plenty of stoppage time after this first half!

  2. Play resumespublished at 20:15 British Summer Time 1 October

    West Brom 0-0 Middlesbrough

We have a new assistant referee in place, once he has been wired up and handed a flag and play resumes.

We probably have had about five minutes to wait.

  3. GREAT SAVE!published at 20:14 British Summer Time 1 October

    Cardiff 0-0 Millwall

Ask Google for a textbook reaction save and they will soon cough up this one.

Lukas Jensen's weight is going left as Callum Robinson lets fly from just outside the box, Japhet Tanganga sticks out a toe and the ball skids to Jensen's right, though he is able to contort and get down to pin the ball to the turf before is slides beyond him.

    Great stuff.

  4. Postpublished at 20:14 British Summer Time 1 October

    Luton 1-0 Oxford

Oxford are knocking at the Luton door and another chance comes the way of their Tunisian, Idris El Mizouni but from inside the box his shot is off target.

  5. Postpublished at 20:14 British Summer Time 1 October

    QPR 0-0 Hull

QPR's dangerous Dane Lucas Andersen makes space for himself just outside the area, but his shot is over the top.

A decent start from the Hoops, but no goal to show for it.

  6. CLOSE!published at 20:13 British Summer Time 1 October

    Coventry 1-0 Blackburn

Oh that probably should be 2-0 to the home side...

Bobby Thomas gets good contact on a header but steers it wide.

  7. goal

GOAL Burnley 1-0 Plymouthpublished at 20:11 British Summer Time 1 October

    Josh Brownhill, pen (26 mins)

Easy as you like, skipper Josh Brownhill sweeps a right-footed effort into the bottom corner, sending Dan Grimshaw the wrong way.

Burnley have a goal to show for their bright start.

  8. CLOSE!published at 20:11 British Summer Time 1 October

    Coventry 1-0 Blackburn

Is it a shot or is it a cross?

Whatever it is from Coventry's Ben Sheaf it has Pears in the Blackburn goal grasping at thin air as the ball drops just wide.

  9. PENALTY TO BURNLEYpublished at 20:11 British Summer Time 1 October

    Burnley 0-0 Plymouth

Josh Cullen goes down under a challenge from Darko Gyabi on the edge of the box and the referee points to the spot.

  10. Postpublished at 20:10 British Summer Time 1 October

    West Brom 0-0 Middlesbrough

Assistant referee Rob Smith is being taken away on a stretcher. Let's hope he is OK.

  11. Postpublished at 20:10 British Summer Time 1 October

    Sunderland 0-0 Derby

Three shots apiece from both Sunderland and Derby in a fairly even 20-odd minutes at the Stadium of Light.

The key thing is no goals, and not one of those six attempts on target.

  12. CLOSE!published at 20:09 British Summer Time 1 October

    Burnley 0-0 Plymouth

It's been pretty much all Burnley since the opening couple of minutes and Jaidon Anthony has just drifted in from the left and whipped in a curling low strike from 20 yards which Dan Grimshaw gets down to his left to push away.

Down the other end and Morgan Whittaker flashes a shot past the upright of James Trafford, just to remind the hosts they are in a game.

  13. Postpublished at 20:08 British Summer Time 1 October

    West Brom 0-0 Middlesbrough

We have an early stoppage at The Hawthorns for some treatment for assistant referee Rob Smith, who has a couple of medics around him.

This looks a bit concerning and a hush descends over the ground.

  14. Postpublished at 20:08 British Summer Time 1 October

    Cardiff 0-0 Millwall

    Dafydd Pritchard
BBC Sport Wales at Cardiff City Stadium

Cardiff City Stadium feels like the home of a club in the midst of the worst start to a season in its history.

Cardiff are bottom of the Championship having collected just one point and two goals from their first seven games.

The home fans are doing their best to lift their team, but it's all a bit flat at the moment.

  15. Postpublished at 20:08 British Summer Time 1 October

    Luton 1-0 Oxford

This could easily be 1-1 as Oxford have reacted well to going behind.

Kaminski in the Luton goal has denied El Mizouni and Rodrigues while El Mizouni has seen another effort cleared off the line.

  16. SUBSTITUTIONpublished at 20:08 British Summer Time 1 October

    Norwich 1-0 Leeds

More injury headaches for Daniel Farke.

Ilia Gruev is forced off with Joe Rothwell coming on after just 20 minutes.

  17. 'Ben Doak from Liverpool looks a serious player.'published at 20:07 British Summer Time 1 October

    West Brom 0-0 Middlesbrough

    Tony 'Bomber' Brown
West Brom's all-time leading goalscorer on BBC Radio WM

That Ben Doak, on loan from Liverpool, looks a serious player.

Look out for that little lollipop trick he does, one foot over the other and then he crosses.

He is one to look out for, one to watch, recently called up to the Scotland squad too.

  18. GREAT SAVE!published at 20:06 British Summer Time 1 October

    Cardiff 0-0 Millwall

Romaine Esse spins and fires in a fierce low strike for Millwall but Bluebirds keeper Jak Alnwick is able to make a smart stop.

The visitors in the ascendancy in South Wales.

  19. Postpublished at 20:05 British Summer Time 1 October

    Coventry 1-0 Blackburn

What a start it has been for the home side, they lead but have also seen Tatsuhiro Sakamoto stretchered off after the visitors' Tyrhys Dolan accidentally landed on him in a midfield challenge.

Ephron Mason-Clark is on the replace the Japanese forward and sees an effort smothered by Pears.

Blackburn then sniff an equaliser but Jake Bidwell turns from goalscorer to goalsaver as he clears off the line.

  20. Postpublished at 20:04 British Summer Time 1 October

    West Brom 0-0 Middlesbrough

The Baggies have not yet conceded a goal on at The Hawthorns this season, which says everything about how Carlos Corberan meticulously sets up his team.

Middlesbrough are also a team in the image of their head coach, with that comfortable possession style that Michael Carrick employed throughout his career.

During the recent defeat to Sunderland, the most irate he was all game came when a centre-half did not get into position to receive the ball after playing it back to goalkeeper Seny Dieng.
