We've got a post on that a bit earlier on, CK.

Granted there are a lot of ifs buts and maybes because Liverpool could win the league earlier than that depending on results. They could also win the league later than that. Or, they may not win it at all (they probably will though).

Richard Hughes may not have made Liverpool fans happy with his player transfers, but in Slot and Iraola he's got a great recent record for manager hires.

Former West Ham midfielder on the Football Daily podcast

On Liverpool winning the league at Anfield against Arsenal in May: "It would be so funny if that was the situation. I think if you are a Liverpool player right now, as much as they have surprised everyone this season, as nobody expected them to be in this position and this good under new manager Arne Slot.

"They have been sensational, only losing one game this season to Forest, and they are going to want to get this done as quickly as possible because they are still competing in the Champions League until at least next week, so wrapping up the Premier League title is the priority and Arsenal have given them an open door to get it done."

Mohamed Salah's brace against Southampton means the Liverpool forward is now the joint-fifth highest scorer in Premier League history alongside Sergio Aguero.

Salah moved on to an incredible 184 goals during Saturday's win and is now just three away from surpassing Andy Cole in fourth.

If that wasn't enough, his 44 goal involvements this season (27 goals, 17 assists) is the joint-most in a 38-game season, with only Andrew Cole in 1993-94 and Alan Shearer in 1994-95 having more with 47.

It’s astonishing what Iraola has done at Bournemouth and if they qualify for the Champions League, then surely the PL Manager of the Year award awaits him, furthermore, I think he will get headhunted by the likes of Arsenal, Spurs & maybe Utd.

Ange Postecoglou became Tottenham manager on 6 June, 2023, with Andoni Iraola getting the Bournemouth job 13 days later.

But how do the pair compare since? Spurs came fifth in 2023-24, with Bournemouth 12th, while the Cherries are eighth this season with Tottenham 13th.

    Tottenham 2-2 Bournemouth

    • No team has scored more open play goals from crosses in the Premier League this season than Bournemouth's eight, with three of those being assisted by Milos Kerkez.
    • Tottenham's comeback was the 26th different time that Spurs have been two or more goals down in a Premier League match and then came back to salvage at least a point (won nine, drawn 17), with only Manchester United doing so on more occasions in the history of the competition (30).

Let’s be honest, we (Spurs) were all over the shop yesterday. Bournemouth took their foot of the gas which helped, but we started too slow and paid for it. Very happy to take a point, which is a credit to how well Bournemouth played for the majority of the match.

    Tottenham 2-2 Bournemouth

Tottenham Hotspur manager Ange Postecoglou gave credit to his side for rescuing a point after a "chaotic" match against Bournemouth in the Premier League.

Meanwhile, Cherries boss Andoni Iraola said giving away a two-goal lead was "not good enough" from his side.

Bournemouth were on course to record what would have been an excellent victory at Tottenham, leading 2-0 before the hosts produced a fine fightback.

Marcus Tavernier and Evanilson put the Cherries, aiming to qualify for European football for the first time in the club's history, 2-0 ahead after 65 minutes, only for Spurs to recover with goals from Pape Matar Sarr and an 84th-minute equaliser from Son Heung-min.

But, as the stats show, it was a missed opportunity for three points for Andoni Iraola's side.

Manager Ange Postecoglou praised Tottenham's spirit after his side's comeback draw with Bournemouth - and hopes they carry that momentum into Thursday's Europa League tie against AZ Alkmaar.

Tottenham will welcome the Dutch outfit to north London, looking to overturn a one-goal first-leg deficit.

But it will come on the back of a morale-boosting end to their Premier League encounter with the Cherries on Saturday - coming from two goals down to draw 2-2.

"At 2-0 we had a bit of a mountain to climb," Postecoglou told Sky Sports.

"It was a chaotic game today and the boys showed a real mentality. It would have been really easy at 2-0, with the atmosphere in the stadium, to let it slip away from us but they fought hard and got themselves back in the game.

"It was a different kind of struggle for us today. Bournemouth pressed really well and we were really sloppy with the ball at times which allowed them to pin us back. It wasn't anything like Thursday but we hung in there."

Sunday's draw halted a two-game losing streak across all competitions, having suffered defeat at Alkmaar after a 1-0 league loss against Manchester City.

Spurs have won just two of their past seven games but avoided recording a 19th loss of the campaign.
