  1. 'Early shout for goal of the season'published at 16:01

    HT: Sunderland 2-0 Coventry

    Final Score

Okay I’m calling it, Dennis Cirkin’s strike to double Sunderland’s lead is my early shout for Championship goal of the season.

Absolute banger! He picked the ball up in his own half, played a one two on the halfway line then finished from 25 plus yards with a rocket past Brad Collins.

Wilson Isidor’s goal was a beauty too. Very impressed with the Regis Le Bris football. What a way this would be to head into the international break for Sunderland fans.

Portsmouth lead Preston 2-0 and are on their way to a huge three points that could take them off the bottom of the table.

QPR have fallen to the foot of the live Championship table - they trail at high-flying Leeds.

  5. HALF-TIMEpublished at 15:50 Greenwich Mean Time 9 November

    Norwich 0-1 Bristol City

Anis Mehmeti celebrates scoringImage source, Getty Images

Bristol City hold a narrow lead at the interval thanks to Anis Mehmeti's goal in the 16th minute.

Norwich have seen plenty of the ball but are yet to test Max O'Leary in the Robins goal, who has made a few routine saves.

The Canaries are winless in their last five and trail against a side who haven't won at Carrow Road in their last seven visits.

    A big half coming up.

  6. 'Two wonderful goals'published at 15:49 Greenwich Mean Time 9 November

    HT: Sunderland 2-0 Coventry

    Nick Barnes
    BBC Newcastle's Sunderland commentator

Sunderland head in deservedly leading 2-0 with two wonderful goals, absolutely cracking finishes from the pair of them.

  7. HALF-TIMEpublished at 15:49 Greenwich Mean Time 9 November

    Portsmouth 2-0 Preston

Goals from Josh Murphy and Connor Ogilvie just before the break give bottom of the table Portsmouth a 2-0 lead at Fratton Park.

Plenty of work to do for Paul Heckingbottom's Preston side if they are to get back into this one.

Pompey are on course to pick up just their second league win of the season.

  8. HALF-TIMEpublished at 15:48 Greenwich Mean Time 9 November

    Derby 1-1 Plymouth

All square at the break as Plymouth captain Adam Randell's deflected free kick cancels out Jerry Yates' spectacular overhead opener.

    Sunderland 2-0 Coventry

The Championship leaders are cruising at the break.

Wilson Isidor put Sunderland ahead with a fine volley after 16 minutes before Dennis Cirkin thundered in a worldie from 30 yards out 10 minutes before half-time.

Coventry City, in their first game since Mark Robins was sacked, have barely had a sniff.

The Black Cats are well on course to maintain their unbeaten home run and will make it six wins from seven at the Stadium of Light if they see this out in the second-half.

  10. HALF-TIMEpublished at 15:47 Greenwich Mean Time 9 November

    Leeds 1-0 QPR

Another good chance for the hosts goes begging as Ao Tanaka puts a great ball into the box, with left-back Sam Byram - who's really been in the thick of it today - running in.

The left-back drags his header just wide and there's a reprieve for the R's as the referee blows up for half-time.

A very dominant half for Leeds.

  11. goal

GOAL: Portsmouth 2-0 Prestonpublished at 15:46 Greenwich Mean Time 9 November

    Connor Ogilvie (45 mins)

Portsmouth are going into the break well in the ascendency!

In comes in a corner from Freddie Potts which causes a scramble in the box but Connor Ogilvie is there to poke home at the back post.

    Love it!

  13. YELLOW CARDpublished at 15:42 Greenwich Mean Time 9 November

    Norwich 0-1 Bristol City

Kellen Fisher has gone into the book for Norwich for a foul on Anis Mehmeti.

  14. goal

GOAL: Derby 1-1 Plymouthpublished at 15:42 Greenwich Mean Time 9 November

    Adam Randell (41 mins)

Just Plymouth's second away goal of the season and they are level.

The Pilgrims win a free kick and captain Adam Randell steps up to take it, curling an effort which deflects off of Derby scorer Jerry Yates and wrong-foots Rams goalkeeper Jacob Widell Zetterstrom to make it 1-1 near the end of the first half.

  15. DISALLOWED GOALpublished at 15:42 Greenwich Mean Time 9 November

    Leeds 1-0 QPR

Almost a brilliant second goal for Leeds and Brenden Aaronson is involved again, playing in Sam Byram down the channel before the left-back pulls it back for Manor Solomon to finish.

But the linesman's flag is up for offside.

  16. 'One of the goals of the season'published at 15:39 Greenwich Mean Time 9 November

    Sunderland 2-0 Coventry

    Nick Barnes
    BBC Newcastle's Sunderland commentator

That's going to be one of the goals of the season!

Collins was just plucking thin air as that ball whistled past his ear.

  17. goal

GOAL: Sunderland 2-0 Coventrypublished at 15:37 Greenwich Mean Time 9 November

    Dennis Cirkin (35 mins)

Sunderland double their lead and it's an unbelievable strike from Dennis Cirkin!

The left-back picks the ball up inside his own half and strides forward before unleashing one from about 30 yards out past the helpless Brad Collins in the Coventry goal.

    What. A. Hit.

  18. goal

GOAL: Portsmouth 1-0 Prestonpublished at 15:37 Greenwich Mean Time 9 November

    Josh Murphy (36 mins)

    Curse of the commentator, eh.

Josh Murphy with an absolute corker from 30 yards to put Portsmouth in front with a low strike.

That is only Pompey's fourth goal at home this season in all competitions and what a goal it is.

  19. Postpublished at 15:37 Greenwich Mean Time 9 November

    Leeds 1-0 QPR

    Leigh Bromby
Former Leeds defender on BBC Radio Leeds

Leeds are playing a really agressive high line.

I think Leeds have been the better team, but you don't want QPR to be having chances from set-pieces.

  20. Postpublished at 15:36 Greenwich Mean Time 9 November

    Norwich 0-1 Bristol City

Emiliano Marcondes then has a go from a free-kick about 30 yards out for Norwich but it's a comfortable save for Max O'Leary.
