West Ham United manager Graham Potter speaking to Sky Sports: "We have made improvements defensively, we were conceding a lot so we have improved there but the balance between defence and attack is an area we would like to improve.

"We have been competitive in all the games which has been positive for us. We've had a couple of bad halves but generally, without being fantastic, performances have been competitive. We will need to be the same and better today of course because we are playing against the best team."

On Niclas Fullkrug starting on the bench again: "The impact he has for us is clear but at the same time he has had a season of injury. He had some fatigue after the last game so we are being ultra careful with him because we need him to be fit for the remainder of the season and I think the impact he can have at the back end of the game is where he is at physically."

On his good record here: "Every game is different. We know the challenge here. Arne Slot has done a fantastic job and the team is deservedly at the top. They are looking to get over the line so we need to make sure that we are the best version of ourselves and with a bit of luck hopefully we can get some points."

When people say Mohamed Salah has two years left, he has at least two years left.

For all we know he could get more time after that, and for the way he looks after himself, the impact he's had in his mid 30s when people say you're over the hill, credit to him.

Honestly, if those records are there for him I think he'll be inspired to get those but he'll also want to lead his team to success like he has all these years.

Liverpool manager Arne Slot speaking to Sky Sports: "I think it is only a positive vibe for the fans. They love him [Mohamed Salah] so they will like to keep him here for two more years. But I think the main thing they would like to see today is the team getting a good performance in and getting a good result.

"We all know Mo has been really important in attributing to results so I think that's what today is about - the West Ham game - but it's very nice for the short-term and long-term picture of the club.

"You have to put a lot of effort in to get a result in general in football let alone in the Premier League. Given that we were talking about Arsenal winning the Champions League earlier, I think Anon's referencing Liverpool and Arsenal both lifting trophies as a reason to be cheerful in his house.

But I'm also thinking he could mean Arsenal going trophyless would be a "very nice" way to get one over on his son.

I guess we'll never know. Unless they texts back.

I was at Craven Cottage last weekend to witness Liverpool's first away league defeat of the season, 3-2 at the hands of Fulham.

Arne Slot's side were pressed into multiple defensive errors, conceding three times in 13 first half minutes. The usually reliable centra defensive duo of Virgil van Dijk and Ibrahima Konate both had poor games, while makeshift right back Curtis Jones will have had nightmares about Alex Iwobi all week.

"What happened at Fulham was of course a disappointment," Liverpool manager Arne Slot says in his matchday programme notes. "It was a game in which we caused ourselves problems with all three of our opponents' goals coming from situations that we should have dealt with better.

"This is something we acknowledged straight away because the first step towards addressing problems is admitting they exist."

Ipswich are 12 points adrift of Premier League safety, with just 21 points left to play for.

Last time out the Tractor Boys had a gutting defeat at home to relegation-rivals Wolves, losing 2-1 after Liam Delap had put them in front.

They don't have a great record at Chelsea. Their last visit to Stamford Bridge was in the third round of the FA Cup in 2011. They lost 7-0 that afternoon.

As long as Chelsea avoid defeat today they'll be returning to the Premier League's top five.

The Blues did alright in midweek, comfortable beating Legia Warsaw in the Conference League and with it underlined their claim as overwhelming favourites to lift that competition.

With seven league matches to go the Blues are still on course for a top five spot which this season gets Premier League sides into the Champions League.

Chelsea's main man Cole Palmer was taken off at half-time on Thursday night, but boss Enzo Maresca stressed it was for tactical, not injury, reasons.

Palmer 14 goals in the Prem this season.

Mohamed Salah's decision to move his Liverpool career towards the decade mark is a sign of continuing hunger for the game's biggest prizes, as well as an act of faith in the management of Arne Slot to help him achieve his goals.

When Salah used the stage at Southampton to expose his contract deadlock, it was only the third time in seven and a half years he had stopped to speak to reporters.

It was looked upon as a public exercise in getting talks moving, further evidence that Liverpool was always the place where Salah wanted to be. If that was the ploy it did not work immediately - but the desired outcome has now been achieved.

The Kop had already delivered its verdict with the banner based on his trademark goal celebration containing the message: "He Fires A Bow. Now give Mo His Dough."

Now that wish, as well as Salah's, has been fulfilled.

Saudi Arabia would have been fertile ground for Salah financially, but it could not offer the enticement of the biggest honours in the game, something he can still pursue at Liverpool.
