    Sheff Utd 1-4 Bristol City

    Chris Morgan
Former Sheff Utd defender on BBC Radio Sheffield

We have to see structure and method. In the first half the attacking was good but you have to have structure to counter that.

This is an early test for Ruben Sells. He has his method but how can he alter that to get back into the game.

What a performance and what start to the second half.

The keeper is never going to save that. Ross McCrorie's anticipation is excellent, he gets the cross in and Scott Twine is there.

I think City can get more goals.

    Scott Twine (51 mins)

    WOW. WOW. WOW!

Ruben Sells' first game as Sheffield United manager is turning into a nightmare.

Rhys Norrington-Davies' attempted pass out from the back is intercepted by Ross McCrorie.

He tees up Scott Twine in the area and his shot takes a couple of deflections to nestle in the back of the net.

    Crazy stuff at Bramall Lane.

Close to a FOURTH goal for the away side.

Scott Twine, who properly fancies it today, lashes a dipper from about 25 yards out that flies just past Michael Cooper's post.

You can't take your eyes off this for a second.

    REMARKABLE!

About 40 seconds into the second half the away side have their third!

Emil Riis does well to get to the byline down the Robins right and his cutback is converted by Anis Mehmeti.

Ruben Selles' half-time teamtalk is gone in 60 seconds.

  12. 'We've been harshly treated' - Parkinsonpublished at 18:29 British Summer Time 9 August

    FT: Southampton 2-1 Wrexham

Wrexham boss Phil Parkinson told BBC Radio Wales he felt Southampton should have played more than an hour with 10-men after Ronnie Edwards pushed Kieffer Moore over in the box, leading to the penalty which saw Josh WIndass put the visitors into a lead they held until the 90th minute.

"He was clean through and he gets pushed down for the penalty. I've spoken to the ref and said, 'Look my interpretation of that rule is if it's an intentional push it's a straight red'," said Parkinson.

"I saw it from the touchline and the footage again at half-time. I can't see how he's not got that right because it's a game-changing moment as they're down to 10 men.

"I went to see the ref. Just a calm chat. I can't see how he's not got it right. It's got to be a red card where he was in terms of the pitch. I'm sure the ref will look at that and see we've been harshly treated."

    FT: Charlton 1-0 Watford

    Charlton Athletic

Charlton Athletic manager Nathan Jones told BBC London:

"I thought we took about 10 minutes to settle, they played a bit of possession football and we didn't get the press right.

"But once we got to grips with the game I thought we were excellent, we went after it, we created chances.

"Their keeper's made some excellent saves and I thought we were excellent and thoroughly deserved it - more shots, more shots on target.

"Then to score in the manner that we did is a wonderful way to win a game."

  15. We're going to grow' - Pezzolanopublished at 18:23 British Summer Time 9 August

    FT: Charlton 1-0 Watford

    Watford

Watford manager Paulo Pezzolano told BBC Three Counties:

"We wanted the three points. We wanted to win the match, but today it went their way with the set-piece in that last moment.

"The most important thing is that we have a young team that fought very well and it's going to grow.

"It is what it is and we're just looking forward to the next one."

    Bristol City have been clinical.

I've been impressed with Sheffield United in attacking areas and City have to be careful otherwise they'll get picked off.

VERY early days but you'll have to go some to get a more entertaining 45 minutes of Championship football than this this season.

Scott Twine got things going with a wonderful free-kick after just five minutes to give the away side the lead.

The home side levelled through Tyrese Campbell's firm shot and looked for all the world like they would get the next goal but were caught with a sucker-punch when the visitors countered and Twine teed up Ross McCrorie to thump a low finish beyond Michael Cooper.

Since then the Blades have had much the better of it but Radek Vitek has made some sharp saves in the Bristol City goal.

    Great stuff.

  19. INJURY TIMEpublished at 18:16 British Summer Time 9 August

    Sheff Utd 1-2 Bristol City

Blades forward Callum O'Hare gets the ball in a pocket of space in the Robins area but his attempted ball into the middle is cleared for another corner.

    Again it comes to nothing.

We're into two minutes of time added on at the end of the first half.

  20. Postpublished at 42 mins

    Sheff Utd 1-2 Bristol City

The home side have responded well to that second Bristol City goal and they're firmly on top as we head into the final knockings of the first half.

Boss Ruben Selles will have liked a lot of what he has seen offensively from his side.

Going the other way? Not so much.
