Chelsea have won eight of their last 10 home Premier League games (D1 L1), after winning just one of the 14 before that (D7 L6).

Chelsea boss Mauricio Pochettino, speaking to BBC Sport: "So happy and so pleased. So happy for our players.

On set-pieces and if they targeted them against Tottenham: "We are in a good place, we have amazing professionals working on set-pieces. The team really showed in the way we wanted to build this way to play."

On overall performance: "The first half was fantastic. Then you have to contain and suffer. Tottenham have quality players. Not too much to say, all credit to the players."

Hendrix: I feel for Son. His loyalty to the club and fans means he will retire with no trophies and what could have been “the greatest Asian footballer of all time”. With ZERO trophies to his name that title will never belong to him and given his form a big move now unlikely.

Tottenham Hotspur

Tottenham defender Micky van de Ven, speaking to Sky Sports: "Today was not a good performance from us. We can do much better.

"First half we didn't try to play. We didn't push forward when we come out. We tried to play in the second half but there was not that confidence today.

"We have to take a look back a this game and bounce back better at the weekend."

On top-four chances: "It will be difficult. I don't want to look up to the Champions League after this game, it was not a good performance from us and it is important we play a good game on Sunday."

Tottenham Hotspur

Tottenham boss Ange Postecoglou, speaking to BBC Sport: "It wasn't a great night for us. We didn't play at the levels we needed to and didn't deserve something from it.

"We lacked belief and conviction in our game. I don't know if it is low confidence but we are not playing with the mindset we need to play the football we want to and that is something I have to look at.

"It is on me to fix it. That is what we will be doing. We had bigger issues tonight than set pieces."

How do you turn it around? "Just hard work mate, there's no major formula. We will work hard and make sure we get it right."

Tottenham Hotspur

Tottenham boss Ange Postecoglou, speaking to Sky Sports: "It wasn't good enough and I have to take responsibility for that, it is on me. I am the manager and I am the one putting them out there and it was not good enough.

"When we put in a performance like we did in the first half it meant my message wasn't getting through."

What message was that? "Come on mate, we didn't play well, do you want me to write you a dossier of where it went wrong?

"I feel like we've lost a bit of belief and conviction in our football and that is on me to change that.

"It wasn't about conceding the [first] goal, it was our approach to playing football and we were nowhere near good enough. That is on me.

"We've been in a bit of a grind for a while now, that is part of our challenge and part of our growth. We have to go out there and perform and sometimes you have to grind out. We were poor today."

Top four out of the question now? "I don't now how to answer these questions. We were poor today, what is the point of thinking about anything else? My responsibility is to make sure we play better next time."

Nicolas Jackson netted his 11th Premier League goal of the season for Chelsea, with four of them coming against Tottenham. Only Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink has netted more against Spurs for the Blues in a single Premier League campaign (5 in 2001-02).

It has been an inconsistent season for Chelsea, and one with more frustrations than good moments but the fans are loving life at the moment and are staying behind to applaud their players. They've not always played like a team, but they did tonight.

All over and Chelsea take three ultimately comfortable points.

It is a result that moves them up to eighth in the table, three points behind Manchester United in sixth.

A glimmer of hope for Tottenham with six minutes appearing on the fourth official's board.

Only Nottingham Forest (26) and Sheffield United (23) have conceded more goals from set pieces (including penalties) than Tottenham (22) in the Premier League this season.

That has been their Achilles heel.
