  1. 'Glory days coming back is not a given'published at 14:55 BST 22 October

Nottingham Forest v Porto (Thurs, 20:00 BST)

    Nottingham Forest

Nottingham Forest manager Sean Dyche on the challenges ahead: "It is a challenge but it is only three or fours season ago when they first came up that they had to push right the way to the end of the season to maintain Premier League status.

"The second season was tight, a few points and stuff, I went through it myself at Everton. Forest went through a similar thing, stayed up and then one season catapults the whole thing and it changes.

"I'm not doing it down, it was a fantastic season for the fans, players, club, owner - everyone. But it doesn't give you a divine right and I think the fans know that.

"Of course they want the glory days to come back but it's still not a given. On the other hand, you've got to be open-minded: what can you achieve? I marvelled at some of what they did last season."

  2. 'I respect all managers'published at 14:52 BST 22 October

Nottingham Forest v Porto (Thurs, 20:00 BST)

    Nottingham Forest

Nottingham Forest manager Sean Dyche on concern about pressure mounting quickly: "The way football has changed when changes are made quicker, I think that is just the nature of what we're all in and we all understand it.

"I'm not here to question the former manager or the decision. I'm here to move forward with the football club.

"I respect all managers whether it's Ange [Postecoglou], Nuno [Espirito Santo] or Coops [Steve Cooper], who had a big part in starting this journey.

"It's not about one situation that didn't go well, what about those that did? I just want to play my part in the rich history of a football club like this."

  3. 'It's not about the past'published at 14:48 BST 22 October

Nottingham Forest v Porto (Thurs, 20:00 BST)

    Nottingham Forest

Nottingham Forest manager Sean Dyche on if there were any doubts about taking over given events this season: "No. I was out of a job, I wasn't really part of it.

"I got a call asking if I'd speak to them and pretty much thought it was a yes before I spoke to them. But things still have to be right, contracts and all of that.

"But it's not about the past. I don't question other managers, it's not an easy job and everyone has their own style.

"The club made a decision and now it's for me to try and imprint my way of working, hopefully a successful way of working, on the club."

  4. 'I take great pride in being announced as manager'published at 14:45 BST 22 October

Nottingham Forest manager Sean Dyche: "I'm pleased to be here today as Nottingham Forest football manager and be here today.

"I've got a long history with the club from being an apprentice at the club from 87-90 as a young pro. In those days, all you want to do is play in the first team.

"You're walking down by the river and the voice of Brian Clough is in earshot and all the legends that played at that time. There were some top players. You're just thinking you want to put the shirt on so to round the circle and be here as manager is something quite big for me.

"I take pride in that. So do my staff, we all have history with the club. I take great pride in being announced as Nottingham Forest manager."

  5. 'I want players to have their freedom'published at 14:42 BST 22 October

Nottingham Forest v Porto (Thurs, 20:00 BST)

    Nick Mashiter
    BBC Sport football news reporter

Nottingham Forest have gone 20 games without a clean sheet, a run stretching back to April.

New boss Sean Dyche will be expected to get them organised again as he looks to get Forest out of the Premier League's relegation zone.

"The basics have always got to be in place," he said.

"Strong, fit and organised is a good start point, I want the players to have their freedom to go and play.

"I've had a meeting with them, expressed that, and there's some talent here. So how can we find that balance, the risk and rewards going forward to score goals but also the base which has been such a good weapon for Forest?"

  6. Nottingham Forest's season so farpublished at 14:37 BST 22 October

    Nott'm Forest v Porto (Thu, 20:00 GMT)

It's fair to say Nottingham Forest have had a bumpy start to the season. In the Premier League they are currently in 18th after eight games with one win, two draws and five losses.

In the Europa League they sit in 25th after a draw and a loss, while they have already been knocked out of the EFL Cup.

On top of inconsistent results, the club have also already had three managers this season.

Sean Dyche faces the media this afternoon, the former Nottingham Forest academy kid now the new boss.

He becomes the club's third manager of a season which has already spectacularly unravelled following the sackings of Nuno Espirito Santo and Ange Postecoglou.

So what is he walking in to before his first game against Porto on Thursday?

Postecoglou was brough in to win trophies but with Forest in the Premier League's relegation zone what is Dyche's remit in the short and long term?

How does he view the balance of the squad, after £120m worth of talent in James McAtee, Omari Hutchinson, Arnaud Kalimuendo and Dilane Bakwa were left out of the squad for Saturday's defeat to Chelsea, Postecoglou's final game?

Is this the job he has been waiting for, with an owner willing to invest and expectations of establishing them among the Premier League's elite?

It is a busy media suite at the City Ground with another new man on the top table.

Get Involved - Palace to win Conference League?published at 14:24 BST 22 October

Use the form at the top of the page

I genuinely think Palace will win the Conference League. Glasner’s tactics have been spot on, Wharton and Mateta are consistent, and the team’s work rate is sky-high. Honestly, I can’t see any Conference League side stopping Palace, especially not AEK Larnaca. They might also finish top four in the prem.

  10. Stach 'will deliver once recovered from physical problems'published at 14:19 BST 22 October

Leeds United v West Ham (Fri, 20:00 BST)

    Leeds United

Leeds United manager Daniel Farke on midfielder Anton Stach: "He delivered over the course of the first games. Really, really good performances, top signing for us, crucial and and a key player.

"But his last two games were not on the top level that he's shown before. He has played with a broken finger, and also has a problem with his body, and if you have then two or three problems as a player, you're more concentrated on yourself. You can't play with freedom and enjoy yourself.

"It will be important for him right now to get rid of these physical problems with his finger, with his ribs. As soon as he's back to top physical fitness, he will then keep going and deliver top performances.

"This week off having a bit time to recover was beneficial for him, and I hope that he can step up a little bit."

  11. Team news - doubts over Ampadu & Struijkpublished at 14:17 BST 22 October

Leeds United v West Ham (Fri, 20:00 BST)

    Leeds United

Leeds United manager Daniel Farke on player availability: "We have a few problems in the offense in terms of availability.

"Noah Okafor and Willy Gnonto are making some good progress but they were not able to complete the whole team training during this week.

"Obviously, Noah was not out as long as Willy so perhaps for him, it's a bit more realistic to be involved. But we'll see.

"Also, a few players are struggling with illnesses at the moment, like probably the whole country is doing at the moment.

"Ethan [Ampadu] and Pascal [Struijk] missed team training today. So, question marks about their availability."

    Crystal Palace

Crystal Palace forward Jean-Philippe Mateta on winning his first cap for France: "I am very proud of myself. I am very happy. I think I deserved it because I train very hard with all of the team. It's a dream come true and I hope I get called upon again."

On his form under manager Oliver Glasner: "He used to train in Germany and when he came in [and said] how we need to play, I think I understand because I am from the German league too. I train hard every day, I want to play every game and I show him I am ready for him, team and staff."

    Crystal Palace

Crystal Palace manager Oliver Glasner, speaking ahead of Thursday's match against AEK Larnaca, on what fans can expect in terms of his starting XI: "The best team like always.

"We have five days between Bournemouth and Larnaca, internationals got two days off to recover, had prepared yesterday and today in short sessions but players looked really sharp.

"We will play the best team, that makes sense for us and we prepare for Arsenal."

Glasner added on if he believes he has a squad prepared for the volume of fixtures the club have: "Yes."

Leeds United v West Ham (Fri, 20:00 BST)

    West Ham United

West Ham manager Nuno Espirito Santo on whether he has settled on a first-choice goalkeeper: "From the start, it wasn't Mads Hermansen or Alphonse Areola who conceded the goals. It was us who conceded all these goals - as a team.

"And then it's up to us to decide what is better for the team and the right momentum to play. But all the positions in the team are open, if you know what I mean. It's totally open."

Leeds United v West Ham (Fri, 20:00 BST)

    West Ham United

Nuno Espirito Santo on Jarrod Bowen: "Jarrod is not a player who drops and drives with the ball. We need to get the ball to him perfectly for him so that he can do his thing.

"That's why it's not individual. It's the same as Lucas [Paqueta]. It's about finding where Lucas and Jarrod can have an impact on the game and finding solutions to make it happen."

  20. 'We need to improve Lucas'published at 13:58 BST 22 October

Leeds United v West Ham (Fri, 20:00 BST)

    West Ham United

Nuno Espirito Santo on where Lucas Paqueta needs to improve: "Maybe it's the other way around. We have to improve Lucas - to take the best out of him.

"He can do a lot of things. We have the pieces to take the best out of him. We have speed in front.

"Now let's find solutions inside the team so that Lucas can deliver the best from him."
