Bristol Rovers were 3-0 up and absolutely cruising, and then for whatever reason, whether they switched off, took away their intensity - they just allowed this Newport team to get a sniff.

We then changed the formation and ended up with five at the back, and we really struggled to get up the pitch. We had to take on wave after wave of Newport attacks.

Once they got the goals everything got a little bit nervy. You have to be fair to Rovers, they stuck at it, but you know Darrell Clarke won't be happy with that performance at the end.

Into the top half go the Gas, three consecutive wins for the first time in three seasons.

Newport remain fifth-bottom, but could well slide further down the table this afternoon.

You could not have written two different halves of football. This game was bonkers in the end.

Rovers ran away with it early in the second half through a Newport collapse but changes made by the home side completely altered the momentum.

But Rovers have held on for a win they probably deserved on the balance of play.

Absolutely magnificent from Alfie Chang, the initial touch, then to manoeuvre through three players, and taking it to byline with a brilliant cross in - it is as good as debuts get.

Bristol Rovers really deserve it, and Darrell Clarke is really getting into Brad Young in net now, he will want to keep that clean sheet.

That was so poor from the Newport goalkeeper. Luke Thomas had nearly been gifted a goal earlier by the keeper.

Thomas really should be on a hat-trick by now, that is two mistakes in a matter of minutes by Nik Tzanev.

Bristol just have to keep their composure now.
