    Arsenal 1-2 Man City

Arsenal have got to be better defensively.

Bunny Shaw had acres of space and plenty of time and the defenders were just flat footed. Jess Park was in and around it too there, either of them could have taken the chance.

    Arsenal 1-2 Man City

Through on goal, Alessia Russo had all the time in the world to take that shot but she goes early - straight at goalkeeper Ayaka Yamashita.

That was a big, big opportunity for Arsenal.

Vivianne Miedema has come back to haunt her old side, she has scored a goal and got an assist. But applause still rings around the Emirates Stadium, the supporters giving her a big ovation.

They did not want her to leave at the end of the season, she is still loved here. I wonder if Jonas Eidevall is regretting letting her leave the club?

Vivianne Miedema's return to the Emirates comes to an end and she gets a warm applause from both sets of fans, plus a big hug from Gareth Taylor.

    Tottenham 0-0 Crystal Palace

Hayley Raso is one of three Tottenham players making their debut today - there are seven debutantes for Crystal Palace - and almost gets off to the perfect start.

After a free-kick from the right is only half cleared, another Spurs player on debut, Maite Oroz, scuffs a shot goalwards.

The ball comes to Raso, who spins and fires a shot against the bar... but the offside flag was up. It wouldn't have counted.

  10. Postpublished at 14:03 British Summer Time 22 September

    Liverpool 0-0 Leicester

    Arsenal 1-2 Man City

I have been really impressed with Mariona Caldentey.

In the first half we saw a lot of what we already knew about her, drifting in from the left and attacking the box. In this second half she has shown that she can use her left foot as well, cutting inside and out and adding that unpredictability to her game.

    Arsenal 1-2 Man City

Jess Park was in piles of space and had a clear look at goal, but Khadija Shaw, despite having to turn, goes for glory.

To be fair, she was the top scorer in the WSL last season.

Welcome to St Helens – home to the most successful team in a Super League of a different kind. But this place does have huge history in the game, marked by a blue plaque I saw on my walk into the ground. 101 years ago, it was a St Helens side that defied the FA’s ban on women’s football and put Dick Kerr’s Ladies, Lily Parr and co to the sword with a 5-1 win.

I’ll be honest though, despite the band outside drumming up an atmosphere, it’s pretty grim right now. Grey skies, hammering it down and given we are a good 45 minutes and a toll road away from Liverpool’s old home of Prenton Park, there are a lot of fans who’ve voted with their feet in the switch from Tranmere to the land between Liverpool and Warrington.

As for on the pitch, Matt Beard says he wants his Liverpool side to break into the top three. They were nine points off that last season and beat Leicester 4-0 on the final day. Nine of that XI start, with a debut for record signing Olivia Smith. The Canadian forward joins from Sporting for £210,000 of was the Portuguese League’s young player of the season.

A new era for Liverpool and too for Leicester. Amadine Miquel is the new woman at the helm. The 40-year-old spent seven seasons at Reims and replaces Willie Kirk who was sacked in March following an investigation over an alleged relationship with a player.

That ball surprised Vivianne Miedema, there. Manuella Zinsberger palms away Yui Hasegawa's strike and it falls to Miedema, who can't react quickly enough to to get any sort of real power on the shot.

  15. KICK-OFFpublished at 14:00 British Summer Time 22 September

A sarcastic clap from Jonas Eidevall as he's shown a yellow card from referee Abigail Byrne.

I don't think he was too happy with Alanna Kennedy pulling the shirt of Laia Codina.

The Arsenal boss is the first name in the book.
