    Wrexham 0-0 Derby

Derby miss an excellent chance inside the first 15 seconds!

The ball is pumped long and headed back across the box to striker Patrick Agyemang.

The American tries to guide it in with a sidefooted finish but sends his shot wide of the post.

    Great opportunity goes begging.

Birmingham have been forced into a late change ahead of kick off.

Striker Marvin Ducksch has picked up an injury in the warm up.

Lyndon Dykes gets the call to start and Brad Mayo is added to the bench so Blues have two goalkeepers among their substitutes!

Swansea City lost their most recent Championship match, conceding a 94th-minute goal to go down 1-0 at Birmingham City a week ago.

But they're back on home soil today, and Alan Sheehan's men have not been beaten at the Swansea.com Stadium since March.

That's a run of 10 games in all competitions, but the Swans' record will be tested by a Millwall side who have won two and drawn one of their three league games away from The Den this season.

Swansea make the one change from last Saturday's stoppage-time defeat at Birmingham City.

Goncalo Franco makes way in midfield and is replaced by Malick Yalcouye.

Millwall boss Alex Neil follows suits and makes a single alteration from the side that beat Watford on Monday.

Goalscorer that night Camiel Neghli drops to the bench and is replaced by Will Smallbone, who is expected to play just behind lone-striker Josh Coburn, with Mihailo Ivanovic continuing to be among the substitutes.

Swansea City are unbeaten in their previous seven league matches at home - their best run since 2020-21.

The Swans also came back from two goals down at half-time to beat Premier League side Nottingham Forest in the Carabao Cup last Wednesday to set up an intriguing round of 16 tie against Manchester City next month.

Today, they face a Millwall side buoyed from their first home win of the season on Monday against Watford and who have been so far extremely impressive on the road this season, picking up seven points from a possible nine away from The Den.

Camiel Neghli's delightful first-half free-kick was enough for the three points five days ago and Alex Neil's men will go into today's lunchtime clash with an opportunity of potentially going second in the table ahead of today's 15:00 kick-offs.

So, Swansea are good at home and Millwall are good on their travels. All sounds pretty promising doesn't it? Stay with us for this one.

Wrexham make one change from the team that started the 3-2 win at Norwich last Saturday.

Defender Callum Doyle drops to the bench and is replaced in the starting XI by Lewis Brunt. Former England international Conor Coady does not make the squad.

Derby County boss John Eustace makes two changes to the side that fell to a disappointing 1-0 reverse at home to Preston last week.

Callum Elder and Bobby Clark drop to the bench and their places are taken by Patrick Agyemang and Andi Weimann. It's a first start in English football for USA striker Agyemang, it's a 351st start in English league football for Weimann.

  9. Can Rams make most of Dragons' hospitality?published at 12:17 BST 27 September

    Wrexham v Derby (12:30 BST)

This match sees the Championship's most generous side - in terms of shots allowed - host the bluntest attack, in terms of shots taken.

In six games so far this campaign, Wrexham have allowed their opponents a whopping 115 shots on their goal, while in the same number of matches Derby have managed just 42 attempts on opposition targets.

Phil Parkinson's men, without a home win this season, held out for an impressive 3-2 victory at Norwich last week and will look to build on that today against a Derby side who begin the afternoon in the relegation zone.

The Rams fell to a 1-0 home reverse by Preston last time out but, despite their lowly position, are in decent enough form away from Pride Park with just one defeat in their past six, dating back to last season.

Coventry are without key man Jack Rudoni - believed to be a late injury withdrawal - today so Josh Eccles comes in for his first start of the campaign.

Birmingham bring in Ethan Laird for Alex Cochrane for their only change with the latter dropping to the bench.

    Coventry v Birmingham (12:30 BST)

    Media caption,

Blues manager Chris Davies prepares for Saturday's game at Coventry.

Nothing too surprising from these two sides so far. Both were tipped to be in the play-off shake up and so it has proved.

Coventry are unbeaten, are the top scorers in the Championship and in seventh place.

Birmingham are eighth on their return to the second tier with their shot-shy attack (five goals) matched by their miserly defence (five conceded).

The Sky Blues are over last season's play-off disappointment while Blues boss Chris Davies believes there is still more to come from his side.

"The general feeling is we're happy with how we've competed but you can also see it's pretty relentless," he told BBC Radio WM.

"We're pleased with how we've adapted but we think there's still room to grow - you need to have a system but enough flexibility to solve different problems."

Coventry have been boosted by the return of midfielder Josh Eccles from his freak injury sustained in last season's play-off second leg at Sunderland and in Haji Wright possess the division's joint top scorer.

    This should be good.

West Brom and Leicester did the rest of the promotion challengers a favour last night by cancelling each other out in a 1-1 draw.

Middlesbrough and Stoke could take an early grip on the top two spots with Preston facing Bristol City.

Sheffield United's trip to Oxford at the bottom already has a bit riding on it, perhaps more so for the Blades.

The EFL weekend got under way on Friday night with West Brom's home clash against Leicester.

Aston Villa loanee Samuel Iling Junior marked his Albion debut with a fine early goal to give the home side the lead.

That looked like it might be enough but Nat Phillips inadvertently put the ball in his own goal in time added on at the end of the game to give Leicester a share of the spoils.

The Foxes, dismally relegated from the Premier League last season, are third but have only won three of their seven matches so far.

    Welcome, welcome

West Brom and Leicester served up the usual late Championship drama last night to tee us up for another afternoon of twists and turns.

Middlesbrough are breaking club records on a seemingly weekly basis, as are Sheffield United but for the wrong reasons.

There's plenty for us to look at so let's get a wiggle on ahead of the early games...
