    Disappointing from Notts County.

    No way near good enough.

    They were second best today.

It's still early but there are plenty for the Magpies to work on this season.

A goal for Ashia on his EFL debut.

Salford City the better side with more quality and deserve the win.

    Reading 0-1 Huddersfield

Seven minutes added in the first period and at least a further six at the end of this one.

Plus Mickel Miller is currently down for Huddersfield so we'll go beyond that time as well.

Reading are having any late momentum interrupted.

'We are top of the league!'

The chant coming from the away end here at Reading.

Jack Whatmough with his first ever goal for the Terriers, his last goal came in February 2023...against Huddersfield!

Town on for back-to-back wins for the first time since February!

    Tranmere 4-0 Shrewsbury

    Jamie Tolley
Former Shrewsbury player on BBC Radio Shropshire

It was so unfortunate that Shrewsbury defender William Boyle picked up that red card because the they looked much better and on the front foot to start the second half.

    A very frustrating afternoon.

  10. 'Too easy for Luton'published at 14:20 British Summer Time 9 August

    Peterborough 0-2 Luton

    Chris Dowsett
    BBC Radio Cambridgeshire summariser

Playing around the back hasn't worked for 85 minutes, why would it work now?

It's very easy to defend against this Posh side, they've played this way for 12 months and teams have sussed it out now.

  11. Postpublished at 14:20 British Summer Time 9 August

    Peterborough 0-2 Luton

There's a break in play as the assistant referee needs attending to. He seems like he's really struggling with an ankle issue and exits the pitch on one leg.

The fourth official is just sorting himself out to take his place on the line.

  14. goal

GOAL: Tranmere 4-0 Shrewsburypublished at 14:18 British Summer Time 9 August

    Kristian Dennis (88)

Ten-man Shrewsbury have unravelled like a badly packed kebab.

Tranmere substitute Kristian Dennis adds a fourth just before full-time.

The assist from Omari Patrick who picks up a loose ball on the nearside edge of the box, picks out Dennis on the penalty spot, and threads the needle for him to poke home.

  15. Postpublished at 14:17 British Summer Time 9 August

    Reading 0-1 Huddersfield

Alfie May gets a sight of goal for Huddersfield - a second would surely finish this as a contest but his effort is deflected into the welcoming arms of Joel Pereira.

  16. goal

GOAL: Peterborough 0-2 Luton Townpublished at 14:14 British Summer Time 9 August

    Jordan Clark

    A goal of Peterborough's making.

George Nevett's back-pass to his keeper is dire and has Nicholas Bilokapic scrambling to get back.

The keeper gets a foot onto it in a panic but his touch is hefty and it ends up rolling to the path of a Nahki Wells.

Wells finds Jordan Clark near the centre of the goal, who eases it in for a second.

Luton have been far better since scoring their first goal but Peterborough have also lost their way.

  17. Postpublished at 14:14 British Summer Time 9 August

    Notts County 1-2 Salford City

    Mark Stallard
Former Notts County striker on BBC Radio Nottingham

    Peterborough 0-1 Luton

Peterborough are the first touch on the free-kick but they can't get it out of their final third.

They give away another free-kick but it's straight into the gloves of the Posh keeper.

  20. Postpublished at 14:12 British Summer Time 9 August

    Notts County 1-2 Salford City

Some amateur dramatics at play at Meadow Lane.

The Salford keeper Matty Young is down, on his back, possible cramping and looking for a stoppage - with less than 10 minutes of normal time remaining.

The ball is in play and Notts County gain possession and start racing through midfield on goal.

And Young jumps back to his feet to direct traffic.
