  1. 'Best chance of the game'published at 12:50 British Summer Time 23 August

    Luton 0-0 Cardiff

    Leon Barnett
Former Luton defender on BBC Three Counties Radio

That's probably the best chance of the game, from Nahki Wells.

He was looking for that Thierry Henry finish across the keeper. I think he should be testing the keeper from there, a player of his quality.

  2. Postpublished at 12:49 British Summer Time 23 August

    Luton 0-0 Cardiff

    CHANCE FOR LUTON!

A long pass is intercepted by Cardiff but only nodded along into the direct path of an orange shirt.

It's squared off to Nahki Wells in the box but he squanders the chance by dragging his sliced shot wide.

  3. Morecambe take early lead on returnpublished at 12:48 British Summer Time 23 August

    Morecambe 1-0 Altrincham

    Daniel Austin
BBC Sport at the Mazuma Mobile Stadium

We are also keeping an eye on National League side Morecambe's return to action after their recent takeover.

Morecambe were not even expecting to play this weekend until confirmation on Wednesday, but have now taken the lead after just over five minutes!

Winger Ben Tollitt receives the ball on the inside left after a quick counter, and after his first effort is saved following a cut inside, buries the rebound inside the near post.

The home fans are equal parts stunned and overjoyed.

  4. GREAT SAVE!published at 12:47 British Summer Time 23 August

    Walsall 0-0 Salford

Myles Roberts is called into action as Salford hit back through a surging midfield run from Ben Woodburn.

He slips the ball into the feet of Cole Stockton whose right-footed shot forces the Walsall keeper down to make a solid save.

  5. Postpublished at 12:47 British Summer Time 23 August

    Luton 0-0 Cardiff

Cardiff front man bursts into a tidy position but teammate Rubin Colwill doesn't spot him in time and ends up blasting it across goal to no one in particular.

Colwill puts his hands up in apologies. That could have been a good opportunity.

  6. Postpublished at 12:45 British Summer Time 23 August

    Newport 1-0 MK Dons

Ben Lloyd works himself some space inside the MK Dons box but hammers his effort well over the bar.

Newport are looking for a first home league win since 15 March - they've made the perfect start.

  7. Postpublished at 12:44 British Summer Time 23 August

    Walsall 0-0 Salford

Walsall go close once again as a Jamie Jellis thrown-in is launched into the box.

Aden Flint gets all 6ft 6 of himself into the air but sends the header just over the crossbar.

Walsall really turning up the pressure now.

  8. Postpublished at 12:43 British Summer Time 23 August

    Newport 1-0 MK Dons

MK Dons are yet to taste defeat in the league under Paul Warne - it's three wins and five draws since he took over towards the end of last season.

That early concession will have concentrated the minds of one of the promotion favourites.

Home goalkeeper Nik Tzanev takes a cross easily.

  9. GREAT SAVE!published at 12:43 British Summer Time 23 August

    Rotherham 0-0 Wigan

Ooph. Big opportunity for the Latics.

Rotherham fumble Fraser Murray's delivery into the box and Joe Hungbo is there to capitalise. He unleashes from point-black range but Millers keeper Cameron Dawson makes the save to prevent an opener.

  10. 'Good from Rafferty'published at 12:43 British Summer Time 23 August

    Rotherham 0-0 Wigan

    Ronnie Moore
Ex-Rotherham manager on BBC Radio Sheffield

    Good from Rafferty there!

He's got his body in really well, and he's got really tight to the attacker and done well to stop him getting the shot off.

  11. Postpublished at 12:41 British Summer Time 23 August

    Luton 0-0 Cardiff

The Cardiff corner doesn't go as planned and launches Luton into a fast break.

The pace is blistering but Rubin Colwill is able to put in the foul to still the attack.

  12. Postpublished at 12:40 British Summer Time 23 August

    Luton 0-0 Cardiff

Cardiff's Ronan Kpakio wins a free kick for the visitors and it's in a worrying area for the home fans.

David Turnbull delivers right into the centre of the box and Rubin Colwill leaps a head above everyone to get a touch.

He nods it down towards goal but it deflects off a Luton head to go out of play for a corner.

  13. goal

GOAL Newport 1-0 MK Donspublished at 12:37 British Summer Time 23 August

    Habeeb Ogunneye (6 mins)

Oh dear Craig MacGillivray - a howler from the visiting goalkeeper.

There seems little danger as Habeeb Ogunneye has the ball down the right just inside the box but MacGillivray, at his near post, palms the ball into his own net.

Not sure how that has squeezed in to be honest.

  14. CLOSE!published at 12:37 British Summer Time 23 August

    Walsall 0-0 Salford

It's an early chance for Walsall as Albert Adomah is unleashed down the left side.

He gets behind the Salford back line only to completely spanner his shot into the stand.

  15. Postpublished at 12:37 British Summer Time 23 August

    Luton 0-0 Cardiff

The first shot of the game falls to Cardiff's David Turnbull.

The visitors move the ball around the final third to find Turnball just outside the box with a vision of goal but his tame, low effort is sent wide of the post.

  16. Postpublished at 12:36 British Summer Time 23 August

    Newport 0-0 MK Dons

Newport are at sixes and sevens at the back as two defenders get in the way inside their own area.

MK Dons have two forwards looking to capitalise before Tom Davies wellies it into touch.

I mentioned that pink kit the visitors are wearing - the white numbers on the back of the shirts are almost indistinguishable.

  17. Postpublished at 12:34 British Summer Time 23 August

    Walsall 0-0 Salford

Walsall make a bright start hoping to take advantage of playing at home, but the flag goes up for offside.

    Too keen it seems.

  18. Postpublished at 12:33 British Summer Time 23 August

    Newport 0-0 MK Dons

An early opening for MK Dons who make ground down the right before visiting skipper Alex Gilbey volleys well over the bar.

The visitors are wearing their third kit for the first time this season - a very pretty shade of pink.

  19. KICK-OFFpublished at 12:30 British Summer Time 23 August

The team news is here and Walsall make three changes - bringing in Vincent Harper, Evan Weir, and Albert Adomah.

Loan signing Daniel Kanu also makes the bench for Mat Sadler’s side.

Meanwhile, in-form Salford are unchanged from their win away at Newport.

New signing Matt Butcher makes the bench after he arrived on a two-year deal in the week after his exit from Wycombe.
