Man Utd boss Ruben Amorim speaking to BBC Match of the Day: "It's really hard especially if you saw the game. We concede one foul and then a goal. We were winning second balls and creating chances. We conceded a penalty and then the third goal. It was really hard for the fans. We have to go again next game.

"We have a lot of situations where they managed to score a little bit similar to Tottenham. It's really hard on everyone in the stadium. We have to fight this moment.

"We have to maintain the calm when you suffer a goal. It was similar in the last match. The players need to understand the game has different moments.

"I always expected [job to be tough], especially in these busy months. We are ready to face the challenge."

On Rashford for Boxing Day: "It depends, we will see."

Southampton

Southampton interim manager Simon Rusk speaking to BBC Sport: "We wanted to build on solidity for the gorup, find that balance. We're the first team to deliver a clean sheet here [Craven Cottage] this season. We're delighted with that, hopefully it can be a catalyst for the players to build on and move forwards.

"They're an honest group, they're focussed as professionals and focussed on the job at hand, they gave everything in these two games, they can take confidance into whatever comes next."

On Aaron Ramsdale returning to the side: "Outstanding, he brings great energey and focus to the group, Aaron was part of a great squad performance today."

On his future following the appointment of Ivan Juric as permanent manager: "Ultimately the role of an interim head coach is less about your vision of foootball and more about the immediacy of what the club and team needs. I've drawn on my experiences and worked as hard as I can to help the players over the two games.

"My task was to take responsibility for the two games, focus on that and nothing else, I'm sure they'll be fallout from that but tonight I'm just going to have a rest. I had a brief chat with Ivan, I'm sure over the coming weeks his identiy and ideas will become clear."

Djed Spence has done well and I'm glad he's kept his position.

It is still a strong team for Tottenham, but I worry about the two centre-backs, Archie Gray and Radu Dragusin.

On scoring in last 10 games: "It's our philosophy, it's what the manager wants from us and that's why we score every game. We need to keep cruising like this. There's always something after a goal so you have to be sharp and we scored the second.

Chelsea

Chelsea's Tosin Adarabioyo, speaking to Premier League Productions: "It was very difficult. Everton are one of the best teams at keeping clean sheets and we are one of the best at scoring. The first half was very difficult with the weather but we showed fighting spirit. We are having a good run and are full of confidence. We will keep on pushing."

Bournemouth

Bournemouth boss Andoni Iraola: "It's an important win for us. We won 3-0 but it was more difficult than it looks when you see 3-0. I think we've been quite solid, it was a mature performance. Kepa's performance has helped us this year.

"He [Kepa] has been very good in possession and with positions. I think he is confident and in a very young defensive line, we need players with experience.

"I am happy that we were more clinical today. We scored from a set play. I think it was a solid performance. Not amazing, but it was solid. We kept playing the same way and pushing until the end. After half-time we regrouped and we were better in the second half.

"I value the 28 points. I think the amount of points we have is good. At Christmas, it is a good amount."

Southampton

Southampton goalkeeper Aaron Ramsdale spoke to Sky Sports about incoming Saints manager Ivan Juric: "We met him and from what we came across he wants to be high pressing, a little more agressive, hard to beat and crushing spaces, playing in the right areas. We probably kicked more today than he would like, so it's about finding the balance between kicking when we can and letting our boys in attack enjoy themselves."

Man Utd boss Ruben Amorim: "It's hard to push for two, three wins and we are trying. This game was hard on us. We suffered again on set-pieces and we were a bit nervous, I felt it in the stadium. The penalty and another goal are really hard here. We tried to score some goals but it was a tough match so let's move on.

"If you look at the game, we were not conceding anything before the first goal, we had opportunities. If we manage to score the first goal then the game should be different. We want to score but we are too nervous. We have to fight this.

"After the penalty, we need to control the game better because we know this situation is really hard. We have to control better this moment.

"We have to focus on the job and not what you feel in the stadium. It's the only way I know how to focus my players. We have to suffer again but we will try to win. We will do it until the end."

Tottenham are 11th and can move up to eighth if they win. In theory they could end 12th but they'd have to lose by 18 goals so feels unlikely.

Chelsea's failure to win earlier means Liverpool have the chance to go into Christmas four points clear at the top.

Protests about Daniel Levy and his ENIC ownership group at Tottenham were attended by 250 to 300 people.

There were 'Levy out' banners and black balloons handed out, which will be on display inside the stadium when the match against Liverpool kicks off at 4.30pm.

There are complaints about the hiring and firing of managers, the focus on bringing in revenue rather than re-investing it in transfers and the rising costs for match going supporters.

250 to 300 people is not the biggest protest in English football history, but those in attendance feel that the majority of fans are at least sympathetic with their frustrations.

Meanwhile, the "I don't care about Levy, he doesn't care about me" chant is among the most popular sung in North London at the win over Manchester United on Thursday.

What an afternoon of football at Old Trafford.

We knew Man Utd would be up against this Bournemouth side who are full of confidence.

Man Utd contributed with chances, but didn't have the quality.

It could have been more and what a performance from Bournemouth overall.

We have seen Ruud van Nistelrooy get some results [under his interim tenure], but you cannot not just turn it around quickly - it is going to take time here.

Ruben Amorim has to stop making so many changes, he needs to find a system in a settled way.

This is a big blow, this performance at this stage of the season has put a major negative effect back on something what was starting to look good under the new manager.

Bottom-of-the-table Southampton frustrated Fulham and held out for a goalless draw as new Saints boss Ivan Juric watched from the stands.

Ex-Roma manager and former Croatia player Juric was appointed on Saturday after Russell Martin had been sacked last Sunday, shortly after a humiliating 5-0 home loss to Tottenham.

Juric took his place in the press seats along with members of his coaching staff and witnessed the Saints pick up only their sixth point of the season.

However, they were indebted to returning goalkeeper Aaron Ramsdale for avoiding defeat.

The England goalkeeper, who joined in the summer from Arsenal, had missed six weeks of action because of a finger injury but made a number of fine saves.

He got fingertips to an excellent curling effort from the dangerous Alex Iwobi after only three minutes and midway through the second half showed superb reflexes to push over Harry Wilson's powerful half-volley.

Substitute Adama Traore had a glorious chance to win it late on for Fulham, but dragged his angled effort just wide of the post.

Despite the point, Southampton are bottom of the top-flight table at Christmas for the first time in their history and their six points is the joint third lowest of any side in the Premier League era, with only Sheffield United (two in 2020-21) and Sunderland (five in 2005-06) having fewer.
