  1. Bold selection from Cardiff boss Rizapublished at 14:44 Greenwich Mean Time 29 March

Cardiff v Sheff Wed (15:00 GMT)

    Dafydd Pritchard
BBC Sport Wales at Cardiff City Stadium

There's a palpable sense of apprehension at Cardiff City Stadium, where home fans are getting increasingly nervous about their team's chances of avoiding relegation from the Championship.

Bluebirds manager Omer Riza has taken a bold approach with his team selection against Sheffield Wednesday.

Isaak Davies, Cian Ashford and Will Alves start together for the first time today; the 23-year-old, 20-year-old and 19-year-old forming an attacking three behind striker Yousef Salech.

All three youngsters are quick and skilful but, given their relative lack of experience at this level, that is a significant show of faith from Riza, whose attitude today seems to be one of all or nothing.

  2. Bluebirds in need of home comforts against well-travelled Owlspublished at 14:42 Greenwich Mean Time 29 March

Cardiff v Sheff Wed (15:00 GMT)

Cardiff start the day perilously close to the bottom three.

Omer Riza's men claimed a vital win at Blackburn before the international break and desperately need to back that up today.

Opponents Sheffield Wednesday are just about still in the play-off shake-up but their 1-0 home reverse against derby rivals Sheffield United before the break was damaging.

The Owls' home form is the second worst in the league but away from Hillsborough they are a different proposition.

Only the top three have won more points on their travels in the Championship this season than Danny Rohl's men.

  3. Potters jumping through hoops to survivepublished at 14:39 Greenwich Mean Time 29 March

    Stoke v QPR (15:00 GMT)

Stoke boss Mark RobinsImage source, Rex Features

If Stoke City are to stay up this season, they will have done it the hard way.

The Potters have made two permanent managerial changes this campaign with both Steven Schumacher and Narcis Pelach axed before Mark Robins took over at the turn of the year.

Stoke have picked up just one win from their past six games (D1 L4) and are only a point above danger.

They host a QPR side who are seven points clear of the drop and will be keen to maintain that distance and not also be sucked back into the dogfight having done so well to pull into distance during the middle of the season.

The Hoops are on a five-game winless run (D1 L4) and can ill afford too many more defeats if they want to maintain their currently relatively comfortable position in 15th.

  4. Boro and U's still in the mix at each endpublished at 14:36 Greenwich Mean Time 29 March

    Middlesbrough v Oxford (15:00 GMT)

Boro boss Michael CarrickImage source, Rex Features

Middlesbrough and Oxford both have plenty still to fight for along the home straight of the Championship season.

Boro, despite their inconsistencies, are only three points behind the play-off places in eighth after three wins from their previous five games (D1 L1) and could close the gap with a win depending on how West Bromwich Albion and Bristol City get on.

At the other end of the table, Oxford are very much in a relegation scrap sitting just four points above the drop zone.

The U's did end a barren run of nine games without victory (D4 L5) by beating Watford 1-0 at home last time out but have only won once on their travels all season (D7 L11).

  5. Can Black Cats curtail Lions' play-off push?published at 14:34 Greenwich Mean Time 29 March

    Sunderland v Millwall (15:00 GMT)

Stadium of LightImage source, Rex Features

Of all the teams in the Championship, none are as likely to finish the season where they are right now than Sunderland.

The fourth-placed Black Cats go into the final eight games 10 points clear of the team in fifth and nine points behind the team in third.

On the one hand, it means Regis Le Bris can start to plan around the play-off games his men will almost certainly face but, after three defeats from their past six, he'll want to make sure they go into the post-season with some momentum.

Visitors Millwall, under former Sunderland gaffer Alex Neil, have some hopes of joining the Wearsiders in that top six shake up but it's going to need a late season charge.

The Lions, who are 11th, have only lost one of their past eight matches against Sunderland and a win today could potentially see them close to within three points of the play-offs.

Luton's vital 1-0 win at Hull City means they move to within a point of safety, while the Tigers are now only three points above the drop with Stoke, Cardiff and Derby all still to play in this round of fixtures.

Watford's goalless draw with Plymouth sees them climb one place for now but it does little to help their play-off hopes while Argyle won't know if it's a good point until about 17:00 GMT today...

At the top, Leeds can return to the summit if they beat Swansea, while Burnley will be aiming to keep touch with the automatic promotion spots as they welcome play-off hopefuls Bristol City.

  8. 'A really good team performance from Luton'published at 14:27 Greenwich Mean Time 29 March

    FT: Hull City 0-1 Luton

    Simon Oxley
    BBC Three Counties Radio commentator

What a save that was from Thomas Kaminski in added time.

In terms of the relegation picture, that cat is well amongst the pigeons and Luton Town are very much alive and kicking.

It was scrappy but they defended so well. They were really well organised at the back.

Would I like to see more going forward? Yes but defensively they've been absolutely fantastic.

A really good team performance, with a lot of spirit and heart and that is what the supporters want to see at this stage of the season.

  9. FULL-TIMEpublished at 14:25 Greenwich Mean Time 29 March

    Watford 0-0 Plymouth

    Miron MuslicImage source, PA Media

A result which suits neither and could mark the end of their respective dreams.

Plymouth remain rooted to the bottom of the Championship and further adrift after Luton's win, and Watford haven't closed the gap to the top six.

The visitors defended resolutely, particularly Julio Pleguezuelo. Watford huffed and puffed but didn't create enough openings.

  10. CLOSE!published at 14:25 Greenwich Mean Time 29 March

    Watford 0-0 Plymouth

There is so much desperation as Watford flock forward in stoppage time, and Eyo Kayembe sees a shot deflected over for a corner.

    But Plymouth clear.

  11. FULL-TIMEpublished at 14:24 Greenwich Mean Time 29 March

    Hull City 0-1 Luton

    Luton celebrateImage source, Rex Features

Huge, HUGE, HUGE three points for lowly Luton in this Championship six-pointer.

The Hatters got a huge slice of luck with the only goal of the game when Lewie Coyle's clearance thundered into centre-back Alfie Jones and went beyond Ivor Pandur in the home goal just 12 seconds into the second half.

They had had the better of the chances in the first half against a Hull side who remain three points above danger themselves.

Thomas Kaminski in the away goal was barely troubled right up until the end when he came up with a super stop to deny Charlie Hughes a dramatic late equaliser.

Matt Bloomfield's men remain in the bottom three but this third win in five leaves them just a point adrift of safety.

  12. GREAT SAVE!published at 14:22 Greenwich Mean Time 29 March

    Hull City 0-1 Luton

Great save from Thomas Kaminski to stop Charlie Hughes levelling for Hull!

If the Hatters get out of trouble this season how crucial could that prove to be?!

Hull have no ideas ideas at the moment.

You can sense frustration and you can hear the frustration from the fans.

  17. CLOSE!published at 14:16 Greenwich Mean Time 29 March

    Watford 0-0 Plymouth

Plymouth go close through Muhamed Tijani, who shoots wide after a corner fell to him in the area.

It was a tough opportunity to take as he was turning and didn't have his balance.

  18. SUBSTITUTIONpublished at 14:15 Greenwich Mean Time 29 March

    Hull City 0-1 Luton

Another alteration for the away side as we enter the final knockings.

  19. Postpublished at 14:14 Greenwich Mean Time 29 March

Just under five minutes remaining at Vicarage Road and the tension is palpable. Watford have dominated since the break, but Plymouth have made attacking changes.

  20. Postpublished at 14:13 Greenwich Mean Time 29 March

    Hull City 0-1 Luton

Both teams have changed manager since then but we're five minutes from the same result.
