This will be the first meeting between Copenhagen and Kairat, as well as the first ever major European match between teams from Denmark and Kazakhstan.

Kairat have faced a Danish opponent on two previous occasions in Europe, with both coming in qualifying for the UEFA Europa League against Esbjerg in 2014-15 – Kairat were eliminated after 1-1 draw at home and a 0-1 defeat away.

If he is named in Kairat’s starting XI in this match, Dastan Satpaev will become the youngest player in UEFA Champions League history to start in his team’s first five matches of a single campaign (17y 106d on the day of this game). The current youngest is Youri Tielemans, who did so for Anderlecht 2014-15 (17y 203d).

Copenhagen midfielder Lukas Lerager has recovered the ball and initiated 59 sequences of play in the UEFA Champions League this season, more than any other player during the first four matchdays. Meanwhile, only Nuno Mendes (8) initiated more sequences of play ending in shots than Lerager (7) in the same period.
