Hard to build a rapport with a team when no player seems guaranteed to be around the next season. Maresca can say it's not brutal how he's gone about things, but it doesn't show any respect to players who have given a lot for the club before he arrived. Didn't fancy proving himself a good manager with the current players?

Completely agree with Ryan from 23:05. Arsenal have wasted this transfer window, it was the chance to make up ground on City and we just haven’t done that. I’m not sure why reporters are saying Sterling to Arsenal is a good thing. When was the last time he had a decent match? When was the last time he impacted a match positively. It was a few years ago. He is past his peak and shouldn’t be being considered.

Which fans should be most concerned with the business their club has done this summer?
Eddie Howe and Newcastle fans will be the most disappointed.
With the takeover and the excitement that was generated in the last few seasons, the anticipation of the signings that might come their way, it just hasn't really happened in the end.

Nothing surprises me in football anymore. I can't actually believe that the Raheem Sterling deal is happening. Chelsea are letting him go to Arsenal.
He has the experience of winning titles, when he walks into the dressing room they will know what he is about. Really, really good positive signing. He may need time to get into the team, but first he just needs to get up and running.

Ipswich Town saw late night negotiations for Chelsea striker Armando Broja and Arsenal winger Reiss Nelson collapse.
A deal couldn’t be struck between Ipswich and Chelsea on revised terms in the Suffolk club’s favour after a medical following a previous deal revealed a foot injury.
There was caution around locking in a loan with obligation move for £30million amid a potential issue that needed rehabilitation for the Albania international.
Nelson, meanwhile, looked set to move to make room for Chelsea’s Raheem Sterling ahead of his proposed loan move to Arsenal.
But sources at Ipswich believe that Fulham may have successfully hijacked the deal at the final hour as they looked to sign a winger before the transfer deadline.
