The signing of James Ward-Prowse is a real statement of intent from Nottingham Forest.
Coming into their third season back in the Premier League, Forest need to start establishing themselves in the top flight - rather than just battle relegation.
The midfielder played 51 times for West Ham last season and, even though he only joins on loan, it underlines Forest's determination to push up the league.

Antonio Conte wanted more depth to his squad, he wanted more signings and more talent in.
Being honest I don't think many people in Naples will have heard of Billy Gilmour before, even Scott McTominay, and they are very surprising signings in a way considering their lack of experience in Italian football.
I'm not really sure how they will fit in, it is a brand new league, a brand new culture and brand new tactical approach under Antonio Conte.

Eddie Nketiah is officially a Crystal Palace player.
Arsenal needed to make space in their squad if they potentially bring in Raheem Sterling. For Palace, they needed a proven goalscorer.

Giovani Lo Celso was surplus to requirements under Ange Postecoglou, having had less than a year left on his current deal.
But Spurs defender Sergio Reguilon looks set to stay in North London after the transfer deadline.
He may need to find a move to either the Turkish or Saudi league as their transfer windows remain open.

For the money Arsenal got for Nketiah and Ramsdale today Arsenal could have almost paid for Osimhen. They could really do with a proper number 9, Jesus is injury prone and we need someone to compete with Havertz.
Ryan from Glasgow
Nottingham Forest
A busy end to the window for Nottingham Forest as they sign James Ward-Prowse from West Ham.
The 29-year-old midfielder has signed on a season-long loan deal from the Hammers.
Ward-Prowse said: "When I knew I had the opportunity to join the club and come and show what I can do, I thought it was a fantastic opportunity.
"Having played Nottingham Forest a few times, the atmosphere here is one of the best I’ve played in in the Premier League, so to now hopefully experience that week in, week out is something really special."
The answer is a lot. A busy, busy evening and it's not done yet.

Nottingham Forest
Nottingham Forest have signed Brazilian defender Morato from Portuguese club Benfica
The 23-year-old centre-back has signed a five-year contract at the City Ground until the summer of 2029.
Morato climbed through the ranks of hometown club Sao Paulo before he moved to Benfica in September 2019 where he went on to make 86 appearances.
Forest chief football officer Ross Wilson said: “Morato has been in our thoughts and discussions to come into the squad for several transfer windows, and we’re delighted to have him join us.
“We’re sure he’ll feel at home here in Nottingham and he will quickly become embedded and integrated as part of the squad.”
West Bromwich Albion
West Brom have signed Everton defender Mason Holgate on a loan deal until the end of the season.
The 27-year-old defender spent the second half of the 2018-19 campaign at The Hawthorns and becomes the Baggies’ 11th and final arrival of the summer transfer window.
Holgate, who can be deployed centrally or as a right-back, has made 137 top-flight appearances, said: "I’m over the moon. When I was here before I absolutely loved it. Looking back, playing at the Albion was the most fun I’ve had in my career so far."
Wolves sign Andre for £21m
Wolves
Sporting director Matt Hobbs on Andre's move to Wolves: "It feels like a long time in the making. He’s got the same agent as Joao Gomes and is a player we talked about when we did Joao.
"We hadn't been in a financial position in other windows to do it, when we were interested. It’s one that I thought we were going to miss out on, so I'm unbelievably excited to have him come and join us.
"He works hard, wins his tackles and picks up second balls. He’s physically good and we think he’ll thrive in the Premier League, similar to how Joao has. Our midfield now feels like a real strength of ours.
"I want the fans to be excited about it, but remember when Joao came across, he had six months to sit under Mario and Ruben and get used to the country and the Premier League with minutes off the bench. We've got to give players the time to settle.
"You can never have enough players that have won trophies. But it's a player that we're picking on the way up, he's not coming to having won his trophies on the way down.
"He's won trophies at a young age and he's still on his way up and still wants to learn and grow and commit and be part of the project."
Nketiah joins Palace in region of £30m
Crystal Palace
Eddie Nketiah on his move from Arsenal to Crystal Palace: "It's amazing to sign for Crystal Palace. I'm excited to get going.
"Every time I come back to South London, it always puts a smile on my face, so it’s good to be back home."
Chairman Steve Parish added: "It’s brilliant to welcome Eddie, a senior England international, back to South London. We are delighted he has signed for Crystal Palace.
"I am confident that his energy, talent and hunger to succeed will endear him to his new teammates and supporters alike."
