Ipswich Town winger Marcus Harness, who helped the club secure back-to-back promotions from League One to the Premier League, will spend the rest of the season on loan at Championship side Derby County.

Harness, 28, had made substitute appearances in all three of Ipswich's matches so far this season, including the Premier League losses to Liverpool and Manchester City.

The 23-year-old leaves Fluminense after 197 appearances for the club.

He saw a move to Fulham fall through earlier in the transfer window.

  3. Not long to gopublished at 22:34 British Summer Time 30 August

Just under half hour to go until the transfer window is closed until January. But, remember, that does not mean no more deals can be announced over the next few hours.

If the deal sheet is sorted out by 11pm then that buys the club an extra two hours to conclude business.

  4. Whittaker staying put at Plymouthpublished at 22:31 British Summer Time 30 August

    BBC Sport football news reporter

One deal which will not happen now is Morgan Whittaker's move from Plymouth to Burnley.

The Clarets had made an loan offer with an obligation to buy but with Plymouth struggling to find a replacement they have refused to sell.

The move came after Argyle rejected Burnley's opening bid and they also turned down approaches from Rangers and Rennes this summer.

Lazio were interested in the 23-year-old in January while fellow Serie A side Palma were keen this window.

Whittaker scored 20 goals in 50 games last season, 19 in the Championship, as Plymouth survived on the final day.

He has one goal in four games this season for Wayne Rooney's side.

  5. Ramsdale v Bazunupublished at 22:29 British Summer Time 30 August

I like the Aaron Ramsdale's move to Southampton. I think Russell Martin did an incredible job last season, he played a nice brand of football and got Bazunu to do what he needed to do.

The stat that stands out to me is Ramsdale's save percentage, as an outfield player I want my goalkeeper to save the ball.

  6. 'Ramsdale a top signing for Southampton'published at 22:26 British Summer Time 30 August

    Michael Brown
Former Tottenham and Man City midfielder on BBC Football News Show

I think the Aaron Ramsdale move is a good one for everybody. He is an infectious character, will be good in the dressing room, very likelable, a real character and a team player. He has been hurting not playing football.

The one question is that he struggled with Mikel Arteta's style of play at Arsenal and the club he is going to play in a similar way. The question is whether he will have the confidence to go in there. But he just needs to get on with his football again. A top signing for the football club.

  9. 'Incredible what we're witnessing at Chelsea'published at 22:20 British Summer Time 30 August

    Michael Brown
Former Tottenham and Man City midfielder on BBC Football News Show

Chelsea's transfer business is incredible, and how you manage all those players on the training ground I don't know. What is the long term plan? Financials, how does it work and add up? The organisation is disjointed with the new manager, director of football and owner. It is incredible what we are witnessing.

We are getting to the point where it would be a surprise if Jadon Sancho didn't move to Chelsea.

Talks have progressed so far, even to the extent of the kind of fee that will be paid at the end of a season-long loan.

It is hard to imagine the transfer not going through now.

  11. 'Chelsea have five-to-six excess players'published at 22:17 British Summer Time 30 August

I can't believe that Chelsea are still signing players, they have five-to-six excess players.

There is the financial fair play hanging over their heads - where does that leave them?

Winger Ryan Fraser said he is the "probably the happiest man in Southampton" after he re-joined the Saints.

The 30-year-old has signed a two-year deal at St Mary's after his deal with Newcastle was mutually terminated.

He said: "It's been a long summer from the play-off final to now, but my number one goal was to get back here and now that it's happened, it's one of my proudest moments to be honest.

"I think the journey that the players and the fans went through last season, we came together and it's amazing to be back."

Saints boss Russell Martin added: "Everyone could see the quality and creativity he has and he delivered in so many big moments for us. What many people outside of the building won’t have seen is the impact he also had off the pitch within the group, and it’s fantastic for us to be able to keep someone not only with great ability, but the same level of character too.

"His experience in the Premier League is an additional asset, and he’s delivered at that level consistently over the time he’s played there, so it’s another really positive signing for us."

I could have sworn Chelsea started the week trying to trim their squad down. Now it looks like they're going to buy two more players and keep Sterling. When will somebody tell Boehly that this isn't a Panini sticker book and that these players actually need to play?
