    Blackburn 0-0 Burnley

Blackburn win a corner down their right.

They'd done most of the early running but Burnley have had more if since.

The corner comes to nothing after an absolute shank into the area from Owen Beck.

  2. CLOSE!published at 12:58 Greenwich Mean Time 4 January

    Stoke 0-0 Plymouth

Tatsuki Seko has just produced one of the passes of the season, curling the ball between the centre-back and left-back for Lewis Koumas to race onto before firing a low cross across the face of goal, with Tom Cannon and Sam Gallagher unable to get on the end of it.

A pass that deserved a goal.

Burnley are just starting to turn the screw and are asking a few questions.

They are starting to make a few direct passes and Blackburn are just having to sit back a bit.

The game is still waiting for that big chance. Unfortunately, we said it would be 1-0 either way, and that is the way it is looking it will play out.

    Swansea 0-0 West Brom

    Dafydd Pritchard
BBC Sport Wales at the Swansea.com Stadium

No signs of the lethargy that often accompanies early kick-offs so far in Swansea, where both sides have started fluently.

The pitch doesn't look in its best condition - perhaps roughed up by the rugby played here during the festive period - but that hasn't stopped the Swans and West Brom from playing some nice stuff early on.

  5. Postpublished at 12:52 Greenwich Mean Time 4 January

    Swansea 0-0 West Brom

It's been half-chances only in the opening 20 minutes.

Swansea have enjoyed much more of the ball but Albion have had a couple of sights of goal on the break.

Home keeper Lawrence Vigouroux had to be sharp to race out of his box to clear with his head a moment ago so the Baggies are keeping their opponents honest.

  6. GREAT SAVE!published at 12:51 Greenwich Mean Time 4 January

    Stoke 0-0 Plymouth

On-loan Leeds midfielder Darko Gyabi goes on a mesmerising run for Argyle, picking the ball up on the left of midfield and driving forward while drifting across, eventually stopping to work some space and then curling a 20-yard effort at goal, which Viktor Johansson flops to his left to gather with relative ease.

    Better from the visitors, though.

  7. 'Loads of space'published at 12:51 Greenwich Mean Time 4 January

    Stoke 0-0 Plymouth

    Mike Pejic
Former Stoke defender on BBC Radio Stoke

There is loads of space in behind Plymouth... some 50-60 yards.

Stoke want to get their shape back and and start another attack again.

  8. Postpublished at 12:51 Greenwich Mean Time 4 January

    Blackburn 0-0 Burnley

    Just past the 20-minute mark.

Lots of endeavour but so far both goalkeepers have merely been (fairly) interested spectators.

  9. Postpublished at 12:50 Greenwich Mean Time 4 January

    Stoke 0-0 Plymouth

The Potters have been all over the visitors, bar a couple of rare forays forward, but have nothing to show for it as Bae Junho's dangerous corner is scrambled clear after a spot of head-tennis in the box.

Mark Robins will surely be pleased with the opening 18 minutes, with Lewis Koumas in particularly looking sprightly.

  10. CLOSE!published at 12:46 Greenwich Mean Time 4 January

    Stoke 0-0 Plymouth

Really should be an opener for the hosts as Tom Cannon latches onto a pass from Bae Junho in the area, only to scuff his low left-footed shot straight at Greens keeper Conor Hazard, who parries the ball to a defender, who is eventually able to clear his lines.

  11. Postpublished at 12:46 Greenwich Mean Time 4 January

    Swansea 0-0 West Brom

Another chance for the hosts who are beginning to settle into their style of play nicely.

Ji-sung Eom cuts back onto his right foot as Mason Holgate stands off him and finds Liam Cullen with a curling cross but the midfielder can't get over the ball with his header and it flies over the bar.

  12. Postpublished at 12:46 Greenwich Mean Time 4 January

    Blackburn 0-0 Burnley

The home side are doing the majority of the early running in this one.

They're yet to really test the Burnley backline but it's an encouraging start for the hosts in front of a packed Ewood Park nonetheless.

  13. Postpublished at 12:44 Greenwich Mean Time 4 January

    Stoke 0-0 Plymouth

Argyle defender Julio Pleguezuelo takes a heavy touch as he races across to thwart an attack, only succeeding in conceding a corner but the hosts are unable to punish him as their corner comes to nought.

Lewis Koumas has been positive for the hosts out wide but has just overrun the ball over the whitewash on a couple of occasions... game of inches, it is.

  14. 'Threadbare pitch' at Ewood Park...published at 12:43 Greenwich Mean Time 4 January

    Blackburn 0-0 Burnley

    Andy Bayes
    BBC Radio Lancashire commentator

There was lots of sand and grass seed being applied when we arrived at Ewood this morning.

The pitch is looking a bit threadbare in parts.

I mentioned earlier that these sides first met in the league in 1888.

They've actually not played one another THAT many times when you consider the longevity of the fixture.

This is just the third time Rovers have hosted their neighbours in the league since March 2014.

  16. Postpublished at 12:40 Greenwich Mean Time 4 January

    Swansea 0-0 West Brom

And now Swansea go close at the other end!

Josh Key meets a corner but doesn't really get enough on it considering how free he is, allowing a Baggies defender to half clear and the ball then bobbles around in the box with no Swansea player able to get a decisive touch on it as the visitors escape.

  17. Postpublished at 12:39 Greenwich Mean Time 4 January

    Swansea 0-0 West Brom

    Dafydd Pritchard
BBC Sport Wales at the Swansea.com Stadium

West Brom fans have just given what might be the earliest ironic cheer on record for a refereeing decision.

Two minutes in, there were sarcastic cheers for referee Sam Allison after he awarded Ousmane Diakite a free-kick - having booked the Baggies midfielder just 35 seconds into the game.

  18. Postpublished at 12:37 Greenwich Mean Time 4 January

    Blackburn 0-0 Burnley

The home side win the first corner of the game and the big lads are up from the back.

Rovers play it short before clipping a ball in that leads to another corner to the hosts.

  19. Postpublished at 12:37 Greenwich Mean Time 4 January

    Swansea 0-0 West Brom

A low ball fizzed in by Jed Wallace on his return to the Albion starting line-up causes a few concerns in the Swans backline but Cyrus Christie does enough to get it over the bar to safety.

Josh Maja sees a snapshot go wide from the resulting corner.

  20. Postpublished at 12:35 Greenwich Mean Time 4 January

    Stoke 0-0 Plymouth

Positive play from Stoke's recalled Sam Gallagher who picks up the ball on halfway and drives forward, holding off a couple of challenges, only to drag a left-footed shot across the face of goal from the edge of the box.
