It's an absolutely monumental win for Ipswich. They seemed to do everything that their manager wanted them to do.

Even in the second half when they didn't have much of the ball, they still looked dangerous in the final third.

There was something missing from Tottenham but you can't take anything away from Ipswich - I thought they played their game superbly.

    FT: Nottingham Forest 1-3 Newcastle

Newcastle's win lifts them to eighth. Thee have won three successive games in all competitions for the first time since October 2023, when they won four in a row.

Forest remain third for now, but will finish the evening in fourth or fifth, because regardless of the result between Chelsea and Arsenal at 16:30 GMT, at least one will climb above Forest.

Manchester United captain Bruno Fernandes: “It was a long time that I wasn’t scoring and now goals are coming in the last few games. Another clean sheet was important for us to bring back the fortress we had here. We have to keep doing that and we have to improve.

“Ruud van Nistelrooy fills the club, he loves the club, he wants to bring joy to the players. He brought everyone with a smile to the games, he just wanted us to enjoy it. We wanted to say goodbye as a manager for him properly because he did good things for us.

“It’s a new era, a new manager means everything changes but what hasn’t changed is that this club has to get back to where it belongs."

  5. 'Definitely Newcastle's day'published at 16:04 Greenwich Mean Time 10 November

    FT: Nottingham Forest 1-3 Newcastle

    Kevin Nolan
Former Newcastle midfielder on BBC Radio 5 Live Sports Extra

It was definitely Newcastle's day. Forest weren't really at the races.

Harvey Barnes with his pace down that side unlocked the defence after coming on, then Joelinton's lovely finish sealed it. The right team won today, they got what they deserved in the end. Eddie Howe will now be looking up the table.

Forest need to take their early season form into the Christmas period. It will feel like a blow but it's only a little blow.

Huge cheers from the away end as the final whistle went there. Hugs all around on the pitch from the Ipswich coaches and staff.

A whole generation has passed since they won a top-flight game. Well deserved today.

Ipswich Town win their first Premier League game since April 2002. And they’re out of the relegation zone too. Tottenham’s inconsistent season continues.

    FT: Man Utd 3-0 Leicester

    Michael Brown
Former Manchester City and Tottenham midfielder on BBC Radio 5 Live

There have been some positives for Steve Cooper and his side. They've been brave but they've not created enough. Jamie Vardy missing was big. I don't think the pressure needs to be put on the manager. They've got a bit of breathing space.

Pedro Porro, more like Pedro Poor - because that's such a poor free-kick. Headed away by the first man.

Forest fans head to the exits. They have got to be proud of their team, they've been so good this season.

Newcastle are no mugs, they'll be around the European places come the end of the season.

Tottenham almost equalise! A defensive mistake lets Dominic Solanke in but his shot is saved by the legs of Arijanet Muric. I expected him to finish there.

    HUGE moment for Ipswich.
