  1. 'Great play again'published at 20:42 British Summer Time 8 April

    Arsenal 0-0 Real Madrid

    Matt Upson
Former England defender on BBC Radio 5 Live

It is great play again. I thought Bukayo Saka was going to go it alone but he lends the ball inside to Martin Odegaard and darts in behind. Perfect weight on the pass for Saka and he pulls it behind Mikel Merino in the middle.

Bukayo Saka is causing all sorts of problems. David Alaba doesn't have a clue if he's going to cut in on his left or go down the outside of his right.

That's all you can do as a winger. Your job isn't always to pick a player out, it's just to put a ball into the middle. He's put two really dangerous balls into the middle now.

Brilliant ball from Saka. How on earth did no one get there to score?!

Lautaro Martinez is the first Inter player with seven Champions League goals in a season since Samuel Eto'o in 2010-11 (eight).

  5. Postpublished at 20:41 British Summer Time 8 April

    Arsenal 0-0 Real Madrid

Bukayo Saka is causing Madrid all sorts of problems down that right side as he puts in another dangerous cross but it misses every team-mate again.

  6. 'That is where a centre forward ghosts in'published at 20:40 British Summer Time 8 April

    Arsenal 0-0 Real Madrid

    Matt Upson
Former England defender on BBC Radio 5 Live

That is the moment for Arsenal in this first half. To tap one in at the back psot at this stage would have been magnificent.

Bukayo Saka gets the better of Jude Bellingham, goes on the outside and fizzes it into the middle.

That is where a centre forward ghosts in for the tap in.

  7. Postpublished at 20:39 British Summer Time 8 April

    Arsenal 0-0 Real Madrid

    Alex Howell
BBC football news reporter at the Emirates Stadium

Bukayo Saka shouted in frustration after his excellent cross flashed across the Real Madrid goal.

He knows that someone should have been there to turn it home. That's been the story of Arsenal's season really.

If they had a natural goalscorer, would they have been there to tap it in?

  8. 'A special ball'published at 20:39 British Summer Time 8 April

    Arsenal 0-0 Real Madrid

    Alan Shearer
Former England striker on Amazon Prime

What a ball! It is really is a special ball and somebody has to get on the end of it. He's done his job, it's for his team-mates to do their job.

I'm getting frustrated up here that nobody was on the end of it!

  9. CLOSE!published at 20:38 British Summer Time 8 April

    Arsenal 0-0 Real Madrid

It doesn't get much closer than that!

Bukayo Saka beats David Alaba and puts in a beauty of a cross in that channel between the defence and the goalkeeper but no one is following it in.

    What a move!

After soaking up all that Bayern pressure, Inter have struck.

Alessandro Bastoni curls in a fine low cross and Marcus Thuram is first to it.

Rather than shooting, the Frenchman takes an absolutely exquisite touch, a backheel to take out a defender and lay the ball off to Lautaro Martinez who fires into the roof of the net.

    Great finish, even better assist.

Spell on the ball for Inter now. They're growing into the game.

  12. Postpublished at 20:37 British Summer Time 8 April

You feel the tide has turned a little here and it's Madrid who look the more comfortable of the two sides now.

Game of chess so far … Need to get Arsenal’s wingers in the game

    Alex

Same old story for Arsenal, missing a proper nine badly. Five front players are just in a line staring at the Madrid defence

Both sides look vulnerable defensively. We've seen that with Arsenal as soon as they lose the ball every time.

All of Real Madrid's chances have come within three or four seconds of Arsenal losing the ball - and why wouldn't you attack quickly when you have the speed they have up front? You have to be so careful to not lose the ball if you're Arsenal.

  17. Postpublished at 20:33 British Summer Time 8 April
