    Adam Yates
Former Vale defender on BBC Radio Stoke

Vale have got to settle things down.

When they have had the ball, they've gone direct each time. Carlisle have been scrappy so far, but that's expected.

They've done well in putting pressure on the Carlisle goal.

The extremely sad news announced this morning about the death of Joe Thompson has led to a huge number of warm tributes to the much-loved former footballer.

The 36-year-old was diagnosed with cancer for a third time in April last year, five years after he retired from playing.

The Bath-born player began and finished his career with Rochdale, and had three spells with the club.

He also played for Carlisle and a minute's applause was held in his memory before kick-off of their game against Port Vale.

Good work from Matt Dennis sees him get to the byline and cut the ball back for Kadeem Harris - his shot strikes a defender and there are optimistic appeals for handball and a penalty - referee Martin Wood is having none of it.

It's been a good start to this game, so much riding on it for both sides.

  12. Postpublished at 15:12 British Summer Time 18 April

You can tell which sides are at the respective ends of the League One table so far in Wales.

    Walsall 0-0 Harrogate

They're giving Bolton too much respect, the home side know how big a win over Wycombe will be today.

They need to get in their face and take the game to them.

  17. CLOSE!published at 15:08 British Summer Time 18 April

    Bromley 0-0 Morecambe

Bright start from the hosts at Hayes Lane.

Bromley's Cam Congreve's free-kick is met by marksman Michael Cheek but his flick-on is well intercepted by good defending by Morecambe.
