  2. EFL basement boys Morecambe on brink of droppublished at 14:41 British Summer Time 18 April

    Bromley v Morecambe (15:00 BST)

It's now or never for Morecambe.

The Shrimps are seven points adrift from safety in League Two with just four matches remaining and a defeat today at Bromley - combined with victories for Accrington Stanley and Tranmere - will see them relegated to the National League following an 18 year stay in the EFL.

Derek Adams' men have a good record on Good Friday, winning two of their last three, and will hope the time of the season will help kick-start a timely resurrection of their League Two survival hopes.

Bromley, on the other hand, can be very happy with their efforts this term following promotion to the fourth-tier via the National League play-offs last season.

The Ravens currently sit 14th and following an emphatic 4-0 victory against Accrington in their previous home game, go in search of back-to-back wins at Hayes Lane for just the second time this season.

  3. 'More energy from Exeter'published at 14:40 British Summer Time 18 April

    Exeter 0-0 Burton

    Bow Jackson
Exeter City Women's captain on BBC Radio Devon

We're seeing some energy from Exeter out there again.

They're trying to get the ball into the box and make something happen.

  4. Postpublished at 82 mins

    Exeter 0-0 Burton

Burton are just starting to show a bit more promise going forward as we enter the final 10 minutes.

For the first time in the game, it's Exeter struggling to get out.

Dylan Williams curls an effort goalwards for the visitors but it's blocked.

Eventually the hosts bring it away and Albion defender Kgaogelo Chauke does brilliantly to head away a cross into the box.

  5. Tranmere trials almost over but Donny aren't donepublished at 14:38 British Summer Time 18 April

    Tranmere v Doncaster (15:00 BST)

We are not yet there with these two but both are inching towards their respective targets.

For Tranmere today might have been a lot more dicey but a change in management could not have been more timely as they nosedived towards a return to the National League.

A run of just one win from 14 league games forced the hands of those in charge at Prenton Park and out went Nigel Adkins in favour of interim boss Andy Crosby.

Nine games, one defeat and 16 points later they are virtually safe - but not quite!

As for Doncaster, only goal difference is keeping them out of the top three and they have won eight of their past nine trips to the Wirral.

A seven game unbeaten run has kept Grant McCann's side on course to avoid a repeat of last season's play-off heartache but with games against Colchester, Bradford and Notts County to come after today there is still plenty of mileage in their campaign.

  6. Sad Saddlers seek salvationpublished at 14:36 British Summer Time 18 April

    Walsall v Harrogate (15:00 BST)

A pensive looking Walsall head coach Matt SadlerImage source, Getty Images

Walsall fans know the story so you are excused class for a few seconds...

From 12 points clear at the top when the bells rang in the new year they now find themselves clinging-on to the third automatic promotion place by virtue of six goals from Doncaster.

Even worse is the two sides now above them, Port Vale and Bradford, were 14 and 17 points respectively behind the Saddlers on 1 January - the collapse has been as spectacular as the form was before Christmas.

Mat Sadler's side are now bottom of the form table with no win from their past 10 league games and only six points on the board in that time - the fact they are still third shows you how good they had been.

"It's clear to everyone that we need a reaction. We need to take the shackles off," said Sadler - they need that today.

Harrogate are probably safe with Simon Weaver's outfit doing enough throughout the season to keep their heads above water and never seriously getting dragged into a relegation battle.

One defeat from their past five games has been solid if unspectacular form but they are yet to win an EFL game on Good Friday - Walsall fans will be praying they don't break that duck today.

  7. Two sides in the departure lounge?published at 14:33 British Summer Time 18 April

Carlisle v Port Vale (15:00 BST)

Carlisle boss Mark Hughes and Darren Moore of Port ValeImage source, Rex Features

This time last season Carlisle were already relegated and Port Vale were involved in what proved to be a futile battle to avoid joining them in League Two.

Spin forward 12 months and once again they are favourites to exit a division but this time in opposite directions.

Defeat today will not definitely condemn the Cumbrians to the National League but, well, you know...

Back-to-back league victories for the first time since March 2023 has given fans belated hope they can pull-off the great escape but they need to keep winning and against a Port Vale side with the second best away record in the division it's a big ask.

Unlike Carlisle, Vale have regrouped after relegation and may be timing their run perfectly - top of the table, four points inside the automatic promotion spots and with six wins from their past seven games.

Good Friday games have rarely been bigger for these two.

  8. Postpublished at 14:32 British Summer Time 18 April

    Exeter 0-0 Burton

Right, with no fewer than 22 games kicking-off at 15:00 we need to start taking a look at what's coming up, while of course keeping you posted on the closing stages at a very rainy Exeter.

  9. SUBSTITUTIONSpublished at 73 mins

    Exeter 0-0 Burton

Gary Bowyer makes a double change for Burton. Mason Bennett and Fabio Tavares are on in place of Rumarn Burrell and Julian Larsson.

Exeter also make another double switch as Joel Colwill and Andrew Oluwabori replace Edward Francis and Sonny Cox.

  10. Postpublished at 71 mins

    Exeter 0-0 Burton

It remains goalless at St James Park and that means Shrewsbury Town are just under 20 minutes away from being relegated to League Two.

Have Exeter got a favour up their sleeve for Salop to prolong their stay in League One for at least another couple of hours?

  11. Postpublished at 69 mins

    Exeter 0-0 Burton

Just to outline how scrappy this has been... we've only had six shots all game so far.

Three apiece, three on target for Exeter and one for Burton.

This borderline waterlogged pitch really has not helped.

  12. 'If you need to kick the ball into row Z, do it'published at 14:25 British Summer Time 18 April

    Exeter 0-0 Burton

    Aaron Webster
Former Burton Albion defender on BBC Radio Derby

This pitch is full of puddles, everything is holding up.

You've got to be clever with it, defensively you have to play differently.

It's all about playing with safety and less risk, get the ball up to the other side of the pitch and get it away from your own box.

If you need to kick the ball into row Z, do it.

  13. Postpublished at 66 mins

    Exeter 0-0 Burton

The free-kick is taken short by Exeter to Tony Yogane on the edge of the box. His effort is blocked, the move then breaks down and the moment's gone.

  14. YELLOW CARDpublished at 65 mins

    Exeter 0-0 Burton

Burton full-back Kyran Lofthouse slides into a late challenge on Exeter's Tony Yogane to welcome him to the game.

Yellow card for Lofthouse and the hosts have a free-kick in a promising position on the left.

  15. SUBSTITUTIONSpublished at 63 mins

    Exeter 0-0 Burton

A couple of changes for Exeter.

Ryan Woods and Tony Yogane are introduced. Off go Kevin McDonald and Reece Cole.

  16. Postpublished at 61 mins

    Exeter 0-0 Burton

And now Rumarn Burrell does have a touch for Burton! And it's a good one too, flicking it on to Dylan Williams who hits it from the edge of the area with power but it's straight at Exeter keeper Joe Whitworth.

  17. Postpublished at 60 mins

    Exeter 0-0 Burton

You've got to feel for Burton forward Rumarn Burrell. He's barely had a touch so far and is very much chasing lost causes.

He chases another one into the channel but Joe Whitworth is out in the Exeter goal to claim.

You can see from the touch map below that he hasn't had the ball in the Exeter penalty area yet.

    Rumarn Burrell touch map
  18. Shrewsbury staring at relegationpublished at 59 mins

    Exeter 0-0 Burton

It's worth mentioning again at this stage that Shrewsbury Town are relegated as things stand.

That's because if Burton pick up at least a point the Shrews will be unable to catch them.

They need Burton and Bristol Rovers to lose today - and of course to win themselves in their 15:00 BST kick-off match at home to Wigan.

But they might be down before kicking a ball today unless Exeter do them a favour.

  19. 'It's more positive from Exeter'published at 14:15 British Summer Time 18 April

    Exeter 0-0 Burton

    Bow Jackson
Exeter City Women's captain on BBC Radio Devon

The pitch is really playing into its realm now.

The ball is not doing what the players want it to do, they are slipping over and passes are holding up.

It is definitely more positive this half for Exeter so far.

  20. Postpublished at 56 mins

    Exeter 0-0 Burton

Burton's JJ McKiernan cuts inside on halfway and is sandwiched by Exeter's Ed Turns and Jack McMillan but it's Turns who gets shown the yellow for the foul.
