Reading have won their last two FA Cup ties against Burnley, beating them 3-2 in the third round in 2006-07 and 1-0 in the 2009-10 fourth round.

Burnley have won just one of their last 20 away games against Reading in all competitions (D9 L10), with each of their last three visits finishing level.

Reading have won 10 of their last 14 FA Cup home games (D2 L2), including each of the last four in a row.

Burnley were beaten 1-0 by Tottenham in the FA Cup third round last season – they’ve not fallen at the first available hurdle in the competition in consecutive years since a run of four between 2012 and 2015.

Reading have progressed from just two of their last nine FA Cup ties against sides in the top two tiers of English football, beating Cardiff on penalties in the 2019-20 fourth round, and Watford 2-0 in the 2022-23 third round.
