Every single time Saka is getting past Hancko. I don't think he's ever seen Saka play before, he's going to have an absolute field day on that right hand side.

  2. CLOSE!published at 20:23 BST 21 October

    Arsenal 0-0 Atletico Madrid

Lovely ball over the top by Eberechi Eze and Bukayo Saka is through on goal. Jan Oblak comes off his line and Saka tries to prod beyond him, but Oblak gets in the way.

    FC Copenhagen 0-1 Borussia Dortmund

Villarreal boss Marcelino said on Monday he was hoping Erling Haaland would not make it 12 in a row.

He has done, it's clinical from the Norway international.

And did you clock the celebration after scoring? Haaland turned around and screamed at Villarreal skipper Juan Foyth after getting the better of him.

Just seconds earlier, the two were scrapping at the edge of the box.

Don't make the big man angry.

    Newcastle 0-0 Benfica

After that encouraging Newcastle start, Benfica are posing a serious threat up top. Vangelis Pavlidis fires into the side netting and Newcastle all of a sudden look a little shaky. So much so that Nick Pope concedes a needless corner to keep the pressure on.

    Villereal 0-1 Man City

    Steve McManaman
Former Real Madrid winger on TNT Sports

    Very simple, easy goal.

The one person who is on his toes is Erling Haaland, he knows when the ball is coming and is getting right across Juan Foyth.

He missed a header early on, but he is not missing that.

It has been very comfortable so far for Manchester City.

  8. YELLOW CARDpublished at 20:19 BST 21 October

    Newcastle 0-0 Benfica

German defender Malick Thiaw can have few complaints about that after a poor challenge on Vangelis Pavlidis results in a booking.

  9. goal

GOAL - Villarreal 0-1 Man Citypublished at 20:17 BST 21 October

    Erling Haaland (17 mins)

    Who else?!

Good patient play from Manchester City and it's a clever run from Rico Lewis, who digs out a low ball across the box and Erling Haaland smashes home.

Comfortable for City and that goal has been coming.

This is the 12th consecutive game in which the machine that is Haaland has scored.

  11. GREAT SAVE!published at 20:16 BST 21 October

    Newcastle 0-0 Benfica

Nick Pope has had absolutely nothing to do but all of a sudden a mistake by Dan Burn lets in Dodi Lukebakio and the Newcastle goalkeeper makes a fine save with his left hand to prevent Benfica from taking the lead.

    Arsenal 0-0 Atletico Madrid

This is reminding me a little of the Olympiacos performance - some great football played by Arsenal but not taking their chances... yet.

Now Myles Lewis-Skelly goes close but sends his low effort across the face of goal.

Mikel Arteta and Diego Simeone are probably two of the most animated managers when in their technical areas in world football.

Simeone, dress in is trademark black suit, is already prowling his technical area giving instructions to his team.

    Bayer Leverkusen 0-1 Paris St-Germain

It didn't take long for the European champions to take the lead in Germany. Willian Pacho put PSG ahead in the seventh minute and it already looks a long night for Bayer Leverkusen.

    Newcastle 0-0 Benfica

A busy start for Jacob Murphy who forces a save as he attempts to guide his shot beyond Anatoliy Trubin.

This has been a bright start by the Toon. They've dominated the opening stages and the only thing missing is a goal.

  16. YELLOW CARDpublished at 20:11 BST 21 October

    Villarreal 0-0 Man City

Alfonso Pedraza goes into the book for a foul on Matheus Nunes.

Unnecessary challenge early on in the game for the left-back.

  17. Benfica trying to disrupt Newcastlepublished at 20:10 BST 21 October

    Newcastle 0-0 Benfica

    Ciaran Kelly
BBC Sport reporter at St James' Park

Benfica have tried to disrupt Newcastle United's rhythm and quieten the crowd.

The visitors have been physical in the opening stages and already made a number of fouls.

It feels like a sign of things to come.

  19. CLOSE!published at 20:10 BST 21 October

    Newcastle 0-0 Benfica

Newcastle are beginning to build up a head of steam.

A lovely move ends with Antonio Silva nicking the ball off the toes of Jacob Ramsey as the Newcastle man is about to pull the trigger.

Then Dan Burn goes close from a corner.

The home fans like what they are seeing.
