Kilmarnock 0-0 Motherwell

Motherwell centre-back Liam Gordon is down in a heap after Marley Watkins challenged him.

It was a bit naughty from the striker, he backed in as Gordon leapt to head the ball.

Kilmarnock don't need any more disciplinary issues this season. It's a yellow card only for Watkins.

Ross Graham launches a shy deep into the Celtic, box but it's a green and white shirt who picks up to mount the counter-attack.

Nothing comes of it though.

With the late defeat to Ross County here three days ago no doubt still fresh in their minds, the Kilmarnock fans are getting a little edgy that their team has not found the opening goal here.

Killie have been dominant in this first half and only a combination of poor finishing, great goalkeeping and a little misfortune with the Brad Lyons offside goal has prevented the home side from taking the lead.

Motherwell have offered very little other than one chance for Tony Watt that was well saved by Robby McCrorie.

Lewis Mayo, a right-back, has just absolutely rinsed Andy Halliday with a tremendous little flick inside while on the touchline.

The Motherwell midfielder chases him down and ends up fouling him. A dangerous free-kick is eventually cleared though.

But that Mayo skill. That'd make it on Soccer AM's showboat section back in the day.

Celtic have now scored 26 first-half goals in 21 games.

Surprise, surprise, that's more than any other team in the Premiership this season.

Daizen Maeda's foul draws a Dundee United free-kick just inside the Celtic half.

It's floated towards the hosts' goal, but they deal with it easily.

Dundee United are living dangerously in their own penalty box and Celtic are on to their passes in a flash.

There was a check for a moment for a potential Kilmarnock penalty after Motherwell centre-back Kofi Balmer blocked a cross with his arm.

To be fair, he was falling to the ground and his arm just naturally goes out from his body.

That seems to be the call by the VAR team as well as play goes on.

That breakthrough will be of great concern to United.

They just can't get out with Celtic relentlessly probing at them.

Kasper Schmeichel would be as well taking a seat on the bench at this rate. There has been absolutely no threat for him to contend with.

Having just seen the replay with the lines drawn, Brad Lyons' right foot is offside.

I'm not sure whether Fraser Murray should've played him in sooner, or whether he should hold his run a bit.

It was initially brilliant from Fraser Murray who drives into the Motherwell box, he should probably slip the ball to Lyons a bit earlier.

The Killie captain finishes wonderfully with the outside of his right boot, but by the time Murray released him he was offside, according to VAR Andrew Dallas.

That's us hit 25 minutes, and Motherwell create their first chance.

Marvin Kaleta and Tony Watt combine nicely, and the striker fires a low shot on target which Robby McCrorie saves fairly comfortably.
