    Celtic 0-0 Dundee Utd

United have had a couple of opportunities to get out but have given the ball away cheaply each time.

Celtic get forward again and win a corner. This time the delivery from Arne Engels is much better and Auston Trusty gets his head to it, but his effort rattles the crossbar.

    Kilmarnock 0-0 Motherwell

You can tell Kilmarnock are really irked by the defeat to Ross County last time.

They are bang at it so far tonight. Kyle Magennis puts another dangerous ball in which Aston Oxborough has to deal with.

Another attack, this time a run from Bobby Wales, results in a corner that Motherwell manage to clear.

    Kilmarnock 0-0 Motherwell

Kilmarnock are putting Motherwell under a lot of pressure, especially down the flanks.

Liam Gordon is forced to turn a dangerous cross behind and from the corner, Joe Wright volleys on target.

But Motherwell goalkeeper Aston Oxborough reacts superbly to push it away before Ewan Wilson hooks off the line.

    Celtic 0-0 Dundee Utd

It's a cracking delivery from Arne Engels, who rolls his pass across the face of United goal, but it's turned behind for a corner to the hosts.

Engels sends this one in as well but can't beat the first man before bundling Will Ferry to the floor when chasing down the loose ball.

    Kilmarnock 0-0 Motherwell

What a chance for Kilmarnock to open the scoring.

Fraser Murray is played down the right-hand side and he pulls the ball back brilliantly to Marley Watkins, but the striker completely miscues his shot from about 10 yards out.

You'd expect him to score there.

A 13-point lead is quite something past the halfway stage of any league campaign.

A win tonight puts even more pressure on Rangers who play Dundee at Dens Park tomorrow. That'll be a big incentive for Celtic to get motoring off the back of their win over St Mirren.

For Dundee United, they've shown they can stand up to Brendan Rodgers' side, but they won't have the leveller of a fierce wind as they had in the 0-0 draw at Tannadice.

They've made significant changes given their schedule and will need those coming in to hit the required level throughout.

  16. Motherwell must adapt to surface - Kettlewellpublished at 19:42 Greenwich Mean Time 8 January

    Kilmarnock v Motherwell (19:45)

Motherwell manager Stuart Kettlewell tells BBC Scotland: "There's always the challenge of acclimatising to the surface, we don't train or play on Astro-turf but it's not an excuse. It's a wee bit alien though and it's how quickly you can find your footing and get control of the game.

"And you're also playing a team in really good form, albeit they lost to Ross County last time. But we've been in the top half of the table since the start of the season and we want to try and continue in that vein."

On spending this game in the stand because of a touchline ban, Kettlewell said: "It changes it slightly in that I don't get to communicate with them directly during the game.

"I'm a manager that never sits down, I don't think I've sat down in 200-odd games a manager, I interact with them and try to help them as much as I can.

"So that becomes difficult for me personally, but not the players as I've tried to build a team and staff I trust implicitly with great experience."

  17. McInnes after 'far more threat' from Kilmarnockpublished at 19:38 Greenwich Mean Time 8 January

    Kilmarnock v Motherwell (19:45)

Kilmarnock manager Derek McInnes tells BBC Scotland: "I'm looking for far more goal threat and for us to impose ourselves on the game. Hopefully we can get that all important first goal and gain confidence from that.

"It's important we win whatever way, we'll take any win at the minute. We don't play in the league again until January the 25th, a long time away. After today hopefully we can enjoy those days off on the back of a win."

On starting Kyle Magennis after another long spell out, McInnes said: "He played 55 minutes all told against St Mirren and we resisted the temptation for him to start against Ross County with the intention of playing him here.

"Getting Liam Polworth back as well, we've missed a bit of calmness and Liam can bring that. He's arguably our best passer."

  18. 'The Celtic support make Celtic' - Rodgerspublished at 19:36 Greenwich Mean Time 8 January

    Celtic v Dundee Utd (19:45)

    Brendan RodgersImage source, SNS

Celtic manager Brendan Rodgers tells BBC Scotland: "I think it's getting that flow again. We've not had too much to complain about this season, it was important to bounce back from the [Old Firm defeat] and I thought we did that against St Mirren.

"I will expect a similar game [to the match at Tannadice], United will be compact and tight. The conditions are different so hopefully we can impose our game to a much higher level."

When asked about comments he made regarding supporters' behaviour during the St Mirren game, Rodgers adds: "I don't want to put light on to this story.

"The Celtic support is what makes Celtic. The club's status is built round the supporters.

"We're getting into a really busy period where the game may not play out the way we want, but the supporters are huge."

  20. 'Kilmarnock must prove they're not one-season wonder'published at 19:32 Greenwich Mean Time 8 January

    Kilmarnock v Motherwell (19:45)

Kilmarnock's up-and-down campaign continued on Sunday when they lost at home to Ross County.

Derek McInnes' men have struggled to put a run together and defender Joe Wright has urged his team-mates to prove they are not a one-season wonder after last term's fourth-placed finish.

They had won three successive home games before facing County and could have moved into the top six with a victory, but they produced one of their worst displays of the season to lose 1-0 and instead fall to 10th.

"It was obviously good to achieve something in one of the seasons I've been here, but it can't be just one season," Wright said.

"We can't be known for arriving in the top six once. We want to do it year in, year out.

"It was a sloppy game on Sunday. There was nothing really between the two teams, but we lost a late goal and weren't really our usual threat."
