  3. Tough to call at Rugby Parkpublished at 19:26 Greenwich Mean Time 8 January

    Kilmarnock v Motherwell (19:45)

    Andy Burke
BBC Sport Scotland at Rugby Park

This is one of those games that is extremely hard to call. One thing we can say for certain is it’s absolutely baltic!

We’re already at -2 and the heated socks I received for Christmas are playing an absolute blinder.

Killie were left kicking themselves after being turned over here by Ross County and won’t want to lose any more ground in the race for the top six.

They are down in 10th and Motherwell are riding comparatively high in fifth, but there are only six points between the sides so a lot to play for at Rugby Park.

Stuart Kettlewell will watch this one from the stand as he serves a one-match touchline ban. The last time he did that was when his team beat Dundee United last month so he’ll be after more of the same tonight.

  4. 'United must be ruthless' - Goodwinpublished at 19:25 Greenwich Mean Time 8 January

Dundee United boss Jim Goodwin says his starting XI changes are "mainly down to the schedule".

"I think that really showed in the performance against Hearts," he tells BBC Scotland.

"We've got a big game coming up on Saturday as well so we've got to try and manage the squad as best we can. We're very confident in the squad we've picked tonight.

"It's not about resting anybody, it's about looking after the squad. We've probably got the smallest squad in the Premiership. We're kind of limited with the options we've got.

"We just felt it was the sensible thing to do to make sure we have the players we need ready and available for St Mirren at the weekend.

"You can see by the line-up Brendan Rodgers has put out they're desperate to win.

"We've got confidence in the group so fingers crossed we can start the game positively, stay in the game and when those chances come we have to be ruthless."

Brendan Rodgers has caused a bit of a stir within some of the Celtic fanbase in the past few days with comments relating to back passes and Greg Taylor.

The manager says he doesn't need to bite his tongue after criticising supporters for showing their frustration at the team's play in the early stages of the 3-0 win over St Mirren.

And he also said a section of the crowd singing about Kieran Tierney was disrespectful towards current left-back Taylor.

Speaking at his pre-match presser for tonight's game against Dundee United, he said: "I'm not going to beat about the bush when I am talking about the bush.

"I'm experienced enough to say what I think and what I feel, but not in a derogatory way to anyone.

"I am so happy that I came back here and love my life and love my job here. But it is also important to be able to say what I think."

Rodgers also said he can never say to anyone "what to say, what to think or what to sing".
