That's all from Charlotte and I.

Today's live started with innocent five-a-side chat and ends with a Tottenham inquest.

As always, it's been a pleasure.

  2. 'We try to block any outside noise out'published at 16:44 Greenwich Mean Time 26 January

    FT: Tottenham 1-2 Leicester

    Tottenham Hotspur

Tottenham captain Son Heung-min talking to BBC Match of the Day: "It is very painful. What can I say? Especially when you’re winning at half-time and conceding two goals in a short period of time. It let us down and is a very frustrating afternoon.

"We can’t just say tiredness because we just came out of the second half. Maybe it was a little bit sloppy, it is not individual mistakes, generally everything is just combining together. It is just a lack of concentration and a bit of sloppiness and in the Premier League table any team can punish us.

"It was not good enough and sometimes we made the wrong decision in the final moment. It is very disappointing to not get three points and to concede goals like this.

"We try to block any outside noise out of the squad and group. We just want to get as many points as possible. There is still a lot of games to play, we want to get players back and experienced players and that will be very helpful. We just need to concentrate on every game and training session.”

Tottenham captain Son Heung-min talking to PLP: "Breaking down or scoring goals is always hard but when it is the day it doesn't happen it is always more frustrating. We were frustrated and made the wrong decisions. It is painful.

"I can't stand here and talk about other games, I've done that a lot and the injuries, some situations haven't been understood by people how I wanted. I've played more games than I expected, but that is our job. Mentally we just have to refresh and get ready and go again. I know it can be tough. When you get wins you can get better feelings, but it is harder after today. It is very tough at the moment.

"It is painful. It's happened a few times already this season. It feels like scoring games is so hard but conceding goals is way too easy. I haven't seen them back yet but it is a lack of concentration, definitely, and a bit of sloppiness. We knew they were going to come. We're going to have to sit down and talk about what went wrong."

On whether Spurs could end up in a relegation battle: "It is definitely not good enough. We've had way too many losses, but there are still a lot of games remaining and we'll have a lot of players back. We're not talking about anything, we just play each game and try and get three points."

So little nuance is applied when looking at the situation at spurs. A thin initial squad in four competitions with a historically bad injury crisis, only resulting in more injuries given the amount of football that players are forced to play these days. Senior players (other than Son most are U25 themselves) are giving it everything, and the kids are trying. Perhaps Ange’s system is intense, but he’s definitely adapted during the injury crisis. The ultimate responsibility is with Levy for his perennial underinvestment.

  5. 'We defended very well'published at 16:40 Greenwich Mean Time 26 January

    FT: Crystal Palace 1-2 Brentford

    Brentford

Brentford boss Thomas Frank to BBC Match of the Day: "Tough game against a very good Palace team. I knew it would be very difficult. The second half started that way, very difficutl circumstances to play in. I think we edged it. In the end, Palace were on top in important moments. We defended very well. A solid, solid, good away performance.

On Mbeumo's penalty retake: "I would want him to take it again. He's our best penalty taker. It's all about trusting your process and he did.

"We tried to create the best meal that we got out of the freezer and it was actually still quite tasty and we got the three points."

  6. 'First mistake and we lost the game'published at 16:39 Greenwich Mean Time 26 January

    FT: Crystal Palace 1-2 Brentford

    Crystal Palace

Crystal Palace boss Oliver Glasner to Sky Sports: "It was a game both teams neutralised each other and there weren't many chances. First mistake and we lost the game. The penalty happened, we head the ball four times and we gave it away. we can't clear the ball and it's a penalty. Mbeumo got a second chance and this decided the game.

"We were very efficient today, we tried everything but never really had pressure. I can't explain. it doesn't; feel like it was a great game from both sides. I have to. I have watched it now and Marc was in. Mbeumo hits the post and the ball goes back to him so he can't touch it again. We couldn't clear the ball five times and it ended with the penalty. It went against us and we did everything wrong.

"We were always trying, we proved it quite often this season. Coming back three of four minutes after 2-0, we knew there would be a lot of added time. We had some good situations and we couldn't score from it.

On Essa: "It's just the start. He's been with us for one week. At this moment we conceded the second goal and we knew he could score goals and create situations. We knew that we could have chances but we didn't do it that well during the game."

  7. 'We needed it'published at 16:38 Greenwich Mean Time 26 January

    FT: Tottenham 1-2 Leicester

    Leicester City

Tottenham Hotspur manager Ange Postecoglou and Leicester City manager Ruud van Nistelrooy shake handsImage source, PA Media

Leicester boss Ruud van Nistelrooy, speaking to BBC Sport: "The winning feeling we share in the dressing room together, the football we tried to play, the goals we scored. In the end it is a dramatic 10 minutes where we had to survive, players were putting their heads in to block shots and were winning tackles. They wanted this, we needed it and they lived up to it today.

"This team stuck together and is doing everything they possibly can to succeed.

"It was an explosive start to the second half! I saw the team calm, they felt they were in the game and reacted very well.

"There is of course relief and celebration in the dressing room. We were really looking for this moment and it took a long time, so now we can enjoy this for a day or two then it is back to work.

"As I said on my arrival this will go right to the end."

On transfer market: "We are looking to strengthen the team within the possibilities of the club. The focus is on this team."

  8. 'Where we are in the league is nowhere near good enough'published at 16:36 Greenwich Mean Time 26 January

    FT: Tottenham 1-2 Leicester

    Tottenham Hotspur

Tottenham boss Ange Postecoglou, speaking to BBC Radio 5 Live: "Obviously, extremely disappointing.

"You know, at the same time I do have to acknowledge this group of players have gave everything.

"We control the game for the most part, we created enough chances to win the game.

"We gave ourselves a mountain to climb and we did have chances to get back into it, but we couldn't do it."

On Tottenham's downfall: "Hard to say, you know straight after the game trying to analyse it.

"It's a combination of mental fatigue that some of the players are feeling at the moment, but after that we created enough chances to overcome the deficit.

"Ultimately it is about staying strong - we are going to get significant players back in the next two weeks - that's all this group needs - they just need some help.

"Once they get their help I'm sure their fortunes will change.

"The guys coming back will not be low on confidence and they will drive the group.

"The guys are trying as hard as they can at the moment - they gave everything again today.

"Some of them probably shouldn't be out there, but that's all you can ask for.

"Once we get a couple of players back it will help them enormously.

"Everyone needs to acknowledge, the club, supporters, myself that the players are giving everything they can.

"The reality of football the judging is constant and it is now.

"Where we are in the league is nowhere near good enough. That's a reflection on me and my coaching, but as I keep saying I am positive about the future for this group of players."

  11. 'Very solid performance'published at 16:32 Greenwich Mean Time 26 January

    FT: Crystal Palace 1-2 Brentford

    Brentford

Brentford boss Thomas Frank to Sky Sports: "I think it was a very even game against two good teams. We defended very well and gave basically nothing away. Mateta is very hard to handle but we handled their front three very well. Vert solid performance.

"I'm more irritated that Bryan's perfect record is now spoiled. I didn't spot it but it's the right decision from VAR. It's about trusting the process.

On Schade injury: "Very important but unfortunately we conceded right after. great header. Kevin has got an unbelievable leap and he's missed some chances.

On Norgaard injury: "He felt something but it shouldn't be any problems.

  12. 'Both teams neutralised each other'published at 16:30 Greenwich Mean Time 26 January

    Crystal Palace

Crystal Palace boss Oliver Glasner to BBC Match of the Day: "Both teams neutralised each other for a lot of the time and it looked like the team who made the first mistake would lose. We couldn't clear the ball and caused a penalty. He hit the post and Marc was half a yard inside before Mbeumo hit the ball. We didn't do it well enough. They were very efficient and scored the second goal.

"It didn't feel like we were close to the equaliser. We knew it would be a long extra time and I think we started too early with the long balls. We had to prepare for the situation. We went too straight and it's not too difficult to defend.

"They pushed the team forward and pushed them to get the equaliser. it didn't work but we know we can always count on our fans.

"The performance was OK, not brilliant but not too bad. We have to work. We knew that conceding a goal against Brentford is difficult because they threaten you with the pace on the attack."

How can Bournemouth, with their club record signing (a striker) out injured, go and put 4 past an in form Newcastle and then the following week 5 past a top of the table Forest…when Ange loses to Leicester at home and an Ipswich side who hadn’t won all season. This is why it is on him, I’m afraid. You only have to look at what Iraola is achieving with a hugely limited Bournemouth side. Ange out.

  14. 'A massive three points'published at 16:27 Greenwich Mean Time 26 January

    FT: Tottenham 1-2 Leicester

    Leicester City

Leicester boss Ruud van Nistelrooy, speaking to PLP: "The performance was excellent, the shape and the way the players were defending together.

"On the ball we tried to play like we always try. We went behind but the way the team reacted to going 1-0 down, they took the ball and started to play. At half time they were calm and the way they came out of the dressing room was tremendous. I think that won us the game in the end.

"The last 10 minutes we switched to 5-3-2, we had to because Tottenham were going with everyone forward. We managed to survive.

"The effort, the dedication, the blocks and the clearances, the tactics we made it was a joy to watch. It got us a massive three points away from home.

"The players also feel we are improving. They feel the way we want to play suits them. We will keep pushing to do these things. The players are buying into it. I can only be very proud of this team."

On Jamie Vardy: "He is a leader by example. He is still producing. The respect from the team and the staff at this club for him is huge. He is also delivering."

  15. 'We've got to get through this as united as possible'published at 16:25 Greenwich Mean Time 26 January

    FT: Tottenham 1-2 Leicester

    Tottenham Hotspur

Ange Postecoglou, Manager of Tottenham Hotspur, reactsImage source, Getty Images

Tottenham manager Ange Postecoglou talking to BBC Match of the Day: "It is a disappointing result, but at the same time I can't ask anymore from this group of players. They are trying their hardest and things just aren't falling for us. We certainly had opportunities to kill the game off and we didn't take them. It wasn't for the want of trying, the players gave everything but we fell short.

"I thought first half we were good and probably could have had a couple more goals and for the most part they didn't threaten us. We conceded a couple of goals but after that we had the majority of the play but just weren't able to get the goals we needed.

"There is the football element but the psychological element. This group of players have given everything to turn our fortunes around and that is all you can ask for.

"The reality is that two or three players weren't at 100% to play today and that is the reality that we're in. The supporters and club should, and I think they do, acknowledge that you can't ask anymore of this group of players. They are giving everything they can and it is not for a want of trying."

On their poor run at home: "It all folds in. The supporters are feeling it as well. It is not an atmosphere where it is easy at the moment. We need to break through that and try and give them something to get behind the team for. It wasn't that long ago we beat Liverpool here and it was a great night here."

On James Maddison's absence: "He is just sore after the other night. He wasn't right to play. We really had no choice."

On supporters changing about Daniel Levy: "I'm focused on the game. We've got to get through his and through it as united as possible."

On whether Spurs are close to any additions in the transfer window: "Not that I'm aware of but the club are working hard to remedy that."

  16. 'It was a really enjoyable game'published at 16:23 Greenwich Mean Time 26 January

    FT: Crystal Palace 1-2 Brentford

    Brentford

Brentford defender Nathan Collins to PLP: "It was a really enjoyable game. We knew it was going to be scrappy and tough with the conditions. It was just awkward, you can't read the ball and the grass is as zippy as anything.

"Never doubt Bryan. We are all so confident in him and he;'s confident in himself. To do that on your second one, it's unreal.

On Schade's goal: "We see him do it in training all the time, he can jump as high as the sky. He's a great player.

"It's frustrating not to get the clean sheet but we were very good. It's a really good performance."

  17. 'It didn't go our way'published at 16:22 Greenwich Mean Time 26 January

    FT: Crystal Palace 1-2 Brentford

    Crystal Palace

Crystal Palace goalkeeper Dean Henderson to PLP: "I thought it was tight. The first goal would have decided the game and it did. It didn't go our way and we showed good fight to get back into the game at the end.

On the weather: "For a keeper, it's horrible. I thought the boys fought well today. It was two decent teams going at it.

On penalty retake: "I didn't understand it. I understand Marc is encroaching so I get that. The ball was only going to Mbeumo and if he puts the ball in the back of the net then it's a free-kick to us.

On Esse goal: "I'm delighted for him to get off the mark in this first game. he looks a bright spark and hopefully there are many more to come."
