  1. Postpublished at 35 mins

    Cardiff 0-1 Peterborough

Bradley Ihionvien can take credit for scoring the first goal of the EFL season that wasn't an own goal.

I'm sure AFC Wimbledon's Ryan Johnson will gladly let the Posh striker claim the honour of 'first real goal' after his late own goal handed Luton Town victory on Friday.

  2. 'No need for Cardiff to panic'published at 13:08 British Summer Time 2 August

    Cardiff 0-1 Peterborough

    Danny Gabbidon
Former Cardiff and Wales defender on BBC Radio Wales

There's no need for Cardiff to panic, there's still a lot of time in this game.

They need to be controlled and they've shown they can do that.

  3. 'Fans not happy'published at 13:05 British Summer Time 2 August

    Cardiff 0-1 Peterborough

    Dafydd Pritchard
BBC Sport Wales at Cardiff City Stadium

Cardiff fans aren't happy with that penalty decision.

"One-nil to the referee," is the chant from the home crowd.

  4. 'Cool and calm from Ihionvien'published at 13:05 British Summer Time 2 August

    Cardiff 0-1 Peterborough

    Chris Dowsett
    BBC Radio Cambridgeshire summariser

What a cool and calm spot-kick from Bradley Ihionvien.

It hasn't been a game of many chances but Posh have taken theirs.

Ihionvien's not seen a lot of the ball up there but he's done well so far holding the ball up and he's put that away very well.

Oh, that is one cold finish from Bradley Ihionvien.

He take two steps, then stutters his run and just slides his penalty into the bottom left corner.

Cardiff goalkeeper Matthew Turner dived the right way, but the finish was beyond his reach.

  6. PENALTYpublished at 31 mins

    Cardiff 0-0 Peterborough

Peterborough have the chance to take the lead from the penalty spot after Will Fish brings Declan Frith down in the area.

  7. Average age of 22 for both sidespublished at 30 mins

    Cardiff 0-0 Peterborough

My colleague Ian Woodcock will be jumping two footed into the live text later today, but in classic Woody fashion he has already flagged a cracker of a stat.

A lot has been made out of the fact that this is the youngest Cardiff City side to be fielded for a league match this century but Peterborough only have one player, Archie Collins, on the pitch who is 25.

He's the only player in either starting XI born last century.

  8. 'The crowd have gone quiet'published at 13:01 British Summer Time 2 August

    Cardiff 0-0 Peterborough

    Chris Dowsett
    BBC Radio Cambridgeshire summariser

The crowd have gone vey quiet all of a sudden and Posh need to make the most of that.

  9. YELLOW CARDpublished at 26 mins

    Cardiff 0-0 Peterborough

Cardiff's Dylan Lawlor is the first player to go into the referee's book today.

He smashes into Bradley Ihionvien and the yellow card is very much deserved.

Ihionvien has certainly come in for a lot of early attention.

  10. Postpublished at 24 mins

    Cardiff 0-0 Peterborough

Peterborough's defence makes a mess of a searching ball, allowing Rubin Colwill to run into space.

The visiting defence do well to recover, but the danger isn't over as the ball is recycled back into the area for Yousef Salech to shoot from an angle. He slips at the wrong time, however, and his effort is well blocked.

  11. Postpublished at 22 mins

    Cardiff 0-0 Peterborough

Rubin Colwill has taken to wearing the captain's armband very well, it seems.

He goes looking for a spectacular opening goal for Cardiff, but bends his effort from distance wide.

  12. 'Barry-Murphy effect clear to see'published at 12:52 British Summer Time 2 August

    Cardiff 0-0 Peterborough

    Dafydd Pritchard
BBC Sport Wales at Cardiff City Stadium

The Brian Barry-Murphy effect is clear to see already.

Cardiff are pressing much higher and more intently than they ever have done out of possession and, when they have the ball, they're throwing bodies forward and attacking at pace.

  13. Postpublished at 19 mins

    Cardiff 0-0 Peterborough

Ollie Tanner has the ball swept away from his feet as he looks to try and create a threat down the middle.

Harley Mills comes up with the ball and plays it quick and long looking to start a counter attack.

He puts too much on the pass and the chance of a break is over as quickly as it presented itself.

  14. 'Cardiff have been the better side'published at 12:49 British Summer Time 2 August

    Cardiff 0-0 Peterborough

    Danny Gabbidon
Former Cardiff and Wales defender on BBC Radio Wales

Cardiff have been the better of the two teams.

They look more confident on the ball and have had the better chances.

  15. Postpublished at 17 mins

    Cardiff 0-0 Peterborough

The Peterborough bodies were lined up in their numbers in the penalty area, but the free-kick had too much on it and sails over the waiting crowd.

Cardiff's defence have had very little to do so far.

  16. Postpublished at 16 mins

    Cardiff 0-0 Peterborough

Bradley Ihionvien is clattered in a tackle on the left wing, and the Posh have a free-kick in a dangerous position here.

What can they do with it?

  17. Postpublished at 15 mins

    Cardiff 0-0 Peterborough

Cardiff pinch the ball in the middle of the park and quickly shift it to the feet of Ollie Tanner on the right.

He plays in a delicious low pass into captain Rubin Colwill, but the midfielder's first-time shot is dragged a long way wide. A big chance, that.

  18. Postpublished at 13 mins

    Cardiff 0-0 Peterborough

After some zig-zagging from Bradley Ihionvien down the left, Abraham Odoh collects the ball on the edge of the area.

His attempted cross is deflected and floats into the waiting arms of Cardiff goalkeeper Matthew Turner.

  19. 'Posh are not seeing any of the ball'published at 12:43 British Summer Time 2 August

    Cardiff 0-0 Peterborough

    Chris Dowsett
    BBC Radio Cambridgeshire summariser

Posh have got to be careful because Cardiff are playing five in the middle and they are only playing two. They have to be mindful of that.

It's clever from Cardiff because Posh are not seeing any of the ball.

  20. Postpublished at 10 mins

    Cardiff 0-0 Peterborough

Yousef Salech snatches at what will go down as the first chance of the game.

The Cardiff City striker brings the ball down in the area, and hits it on the half-volley. The end product does along way over the bar.
