  1. DISALLOWED GOALpublished at 15:19 British Summer Time 2 August

    Barnet 0-0 Fleetwood

Since a slightly nervy start, Barnet have been on the front foot.

After a free-kick isn't properly dealt with, the ball finds Ryan Glover whose shot falls kindly at the feet at Danny Coilinge who tidily tucks the ball home.

The linesman has his flag up, however, and the home fans' jubilations are cut short. The replays showed that one was extremely close.

  2. 'Burst the atmosphere'published at 15:18 British Summer Time 2 August

    Plymouth Argyle 0-1 Barnsley

    Brent Pilnick
    BBC Sport at Home Park

'You wait, they'll score now' said the Argyle fan sat in the row in front of me seconds after Caleb Watts' goal was disallowed.

He should go and buy a lottery ticket now as his prediction has come true, and it's burst the atmosphere here at Home Park.

You have to feel sorry for Brendan Wiredu as there was little he could do as Davis Keillor-Dunn's excellent free-kick struck him at the back post.

Barnsley have something to build on now.

  3. 'A dreamland start'published at 15:17 British Summer Time 2 August

    Bradford 2-0 Wycombe

    Gary Jones
Former Bradford City captain on BBC Radio Leeds

Head over the ball and Bobby Pointon strikes it with his laces. The keeper had no chance.

    It's a dreamland start!

  4. goal

GOAL: Bradford 2-0 Wycombepublished at 15:17 British Summer Time 2 August

    Bobby Pointon

Bradford are loving League One life right now!

Bobby Pointon finds the bottom corner with a fierce low shot from outside the box to double the newly promoted side's early lead.

Walsall celebrate scoringImage source, Rex Features

We have our first goals in League Two this season!

Walsall have taken the lead against Swindon thanks to Evan Weir's free-kick.

Crewe Alexandra have gone one up at Salford due to an own goal from Kadeem Harris eight minutes into his league debut for the Ammies.

Grimsby Town have opened their account, too, via Jaze Kabia's 10th minute penalty at home to Crawley.

  6. 'Bradford have got in Wycombe's face'published at 15:15 British Summer Time 2 August

    Bradford 1-0 Wycombe

    Gary Jones
Former Bradford City captain on BBC Radio Leeds

We're on the front foot already.

Wycombe are really good on the ball but what Bradford have done well so far is get in their face.

Alex Lowry is finding pockets of space in the 10. They are in this game and are good in the transition.

Max Power and Tommy Leigh have a big job.

  7. goal

GOAL: Plymouth 0-1 Barnsleypublished at 15:15 British Summer Time 2 August

Brendan Wiredu (own goal) (13 mins)

The away side have the lead in fortuitous circumstances.

Luca Connell swings a deep free-kick to the back post and an unsighted Brendan Wiredu puts the ball into his own net.

Not the best start for the new signing.

  8. Newport game delayed until 16:00 BSTpublished at 15:14 British Summer Time 2 August

Newport v Notts County (16:00 BST)

Confirmation that the League Two game between Newport and Notts County will now start an hour late after the Air Ambulance had to land on the pitch prior to the scheduled kick off time when a supporter was taken ill in the stands.

  9. Around the grounds in League Onepublished at 15:14 British Summer Time 2 August

    #bbcefl

There have been a few early goals now across the third tier, with George Honeyman putting Blackpool ahead against Stevenage while Joe Low has put Huddersfield Town up against Leyton Orient.

For a Terriers side that will fancy themselves as one of the League One promotion favourites, that is a big early goal against a side that lost last season's play-off final.

  10. Postpublished at 15:12 British Summer Time 2 August

    MK Dons 0-0 Oldham

Kane Drummond has the first shot of the game for the away side but he can't keep his effort on target.

The promoted National league side have made a solid start so far.

  11. 'Watts has started the game well'published at 15:10 British Summer Time 2 August

    Plymouth 0-0 Barnsley

    Ryan Dickson
Former Plymouth and Southampton defender on BBC Radio Devon

    It was a fantastic move.

It was a great finish from Caleb Watts but there must have been a pull in there somewhere.

He's started the game really well.

  12. Let off for the Tykes?published at 15:10 British Summer Time 2 August

    Plymouth Argyle 0-0 Barnsley

    Brent Pilnick
    BBC Sport at Home Park

Uproar here at Home Park as a goal for the hosts inside the opening five minutes is chalked off.

Allegedly Caleb Watts fouled an opponent in the build-up to the goal.

It came as Bradley Ibrahim's superb cross-field ball found Xavier Amaechi on the right wing with the forward beating his man and crossing in for Watts to score.

From where I'm sat it seems like a bit of a let off for the Tykes.

  13. Postpublished at 15:09 British Summer Time 2 August

    Barnet 0-0 Fleetwood

A good run from Barnet's Rhys Browne draws a foul from a Fleetwood defender 25 yards out from an angle to the right.

Bees skipper Anthony Hartigan is over it in a position almost identical to that of Cardiff midfielder Rubin Colwill's free-kick earlier today.

Unlike Colwill, however, Hartigan doesn't bend in a beauty, instead hitting the side netting.

  14. goal

GOAL: Bradford 1-0 Wycombepublished at 15:09 British Summer Time 2 August

    Antoni Sarcevic

Antoni Sarcevic scores for BradfordImage source, Rex Features

Antoni Sarcevic gives Bradford the ideal start to life back in League One!

He reacts quickest after a Stephen Humphrys shot in parried into his path to finish from close range.

  15. DISALLOWED GOALpublished at 15:07 British Summer Time 2 August

    Plymouth 0-0 Barnsley

The home side think they have the lead but they... don't.

Caleb Watts has the ball in the net and he's off and celebrating but the referee rules it out for a foul by the forward.

  16. Postpublished at 15:07 British Summer Time 2 August

    Bradford 0-0 Wycombe

Valley Parade really is buzzing with expectation today.

Those six years out of the third division and playing in League Two would have felt like an eternity for this fan base.

They came up automatically last season, and how they cope in League One will be tested today by a Wycombe Wanderers side that featured in the play-offs last season.

  17. 'We could barely hear the ref's whistle'published at 15:04 British Summer Time 2 August

    Bradford 0-0 Wycombe

    Jamie Raynor
BBC Radio Leeds' Bradford City commentator

Wycombe Wanderers get us under way and we could barely hear the referee's whistle it's that loud at Valley Parade.

  18. PENALTY APPEALpublished at 15:03 British Summer Time 2 August

    Barnet 0-0 Fleetwood

A coming together in the box between Barnet's Danny Collinge and Fleetwood's Will Davies in the area goes the way of the Bees defender.

Davies looks perplexed as to why he wasn't awarded an early spot kick there.

  19. Postpublished at 15:03 British Summer Time 2 August

    MK Dons 0-0 Oldham

Bit of a difference in the length of summer breaks for these League Two sides.

MK Dons ended their season with a goalless draw with Swindon on Saturday, 3 May.

Oldham finished their mammoth 2024-25 campaign with victory over Southend in the National League promotion final at Wembley four weeks and a day later on Sunday, 1 June.

  20. Kone left out of Wycombe squadpublished at 15:01 British Summer Time 2 August

    Bradford 0-0 Wycombe

    John Bennett
BBC 5Live Sport at the University of Bradford stadium.

The big question before the game was whether Wycombe’s in demand star striker Richard Kone would be involved after interest from several Championship clubs this week.

He’s not in the squad and manager Mike Dodds says he’s left Kone out because “there’s a lot going on behind the scenes.”

Dodds added that there have been offers from four or five EFL or foreign clubs but they’ve also offered him a new contract. One to watch.
