A brilliant start to the season for 10-man Barnsley.

Tom Cleverley's first game as Plymouth Argyle boss ends in disappointment in a match where they had plenty of the ball and plenty of chances but gifted the South Yorkshire side their three goals and, with them, the three points.

  2. HITS THE WOODWORKpublished at 16:58 British Summer Time 2 August

    Barnet 0-2 Fleetwood

A bit of salt to rub into the wounds of Barnet with effectively their last attack of the match, Danny Collinge, who remembered had a goal chalked off with the scoreline 0-0, hits the outside of the post with a curling left foot shot.

  3. FULL-TIMEpublished at 16:55 British Summer Time 2 August

    MK Dons 0-0 Oldham

MK Dons v Oldham match actionImage source, Rex Features

Oldham's return to the EFL ends in a lowkey goalless draw at promotion favourites MK Dons.

That's one goal in their past eight games for Paul Warne's side now. They'll need to address that quickly if they're to live up to their pre-season billing.

  4. goal

GOAL: Walsall 2-1 Swindonpublished at 16:53 British Summer Time 2 August

    Connor Barrett (90 + 1 mins)

10-man Walsall might have won it!

Saddlers full-back Connor Barrett plays a lovely one-two with Courtney Clarke and bursts into the area.

He slots the ball in with composure.

  5. INJURY TIMEpublished at 16:52 British Summer Time 2 August

    Plymouth Argyle 1-3 Barnsley

Into eight minutes of time added on.

Could there yet be a twist in this tale*?

    *Probably not.

  6. 'A great point for Oldham at the moment'published at 16:51 British Summer Time 2 August

    MK Dons 0-0 Oldham

    Phil Brown
Former Hull manager on BBC Radio Manchester

At the moment this is a great point for Oldham Athletic but can they nick it?

The Latics players have put their bodies on the line today.

  7. INJURY TIMEpublished at 16:50 British Summer Time 2 August

    Barnet 0-2 Fleetwood

Not for the first time today, Barnet's final ball lets them down as Ryan Glover's cross is overhit and goes out for another goal-kick.

Meanwhile, the fourth official is out and signals that there will be NINE minutes of additional time.

If Barnet could get one back, we might be in for a bit of a grandstand finish here....

  8. INJURY TIMEpublished at 16:50 British Summer Time 2 August

    MK Dons 0-0 Oldham

Into five minutes of time added on in this League Two match.

Could we yet have a late winner?

  9. 'Can the Latics survive?'published at 16:49 British Summer Time 2 August

    MK Dons 0-0 Oldham

    Jack Dearden
    BBC Radio Manchester commentator

    Can Oldham Athletic survive?

They've been under pressure in this half.

We're into the last five minutes of added time.

Niall Ennis has landed Blackpool with a big lifeline in this game.

He latches onto a ball over the top from Jordan Brown and makes it 3-2 against Stevenage with 10 minutes left.

And the Eco-Power Stadium, it has taken hosts Doncaster until the 88th minute to break the deadlock against Exeter.

Has Luke Molyneux come up with the winner in that one?

  11. goal

GOAL: Plymouth Argyle 1-3 Barnsleypublished at 16:48 British Summer Time 2 August

    Davis Keillor-Dunn (86 mins)

That will surely be three points for 10-man Barnsley.

It's another total mess at the back from a Plymouth perspective but Davis Keillor-Dunn wont worry about that.

The talented forward finds himself in on goal and keeps his cool to slot home.

  12. 'Humphrys has performed well'published at 16:47 British Summer Time 2 August

    Bradford 2-1 Wycombe

    Gary Jones
Former Bradford City captain on BBC Radio Leeds

It's been a good performance from Stephen Humphrys. Sometimes it's tough in the lone role but he's done really well up top.

Bradford have seemed to have weathered the Wycombe storm for now.

  13. SUBSTITUTIONSpublished at 16:46 British Summer Time 2 August

    Plymouth Argyle 1-2 Barnsley

The home side go to their bench again as they look for a late, late equaliser.

Owen Oseni and Freddie Issaka are on for the final few minutes.

  14. Postpublished at 16:46 British Summer Time 2 August

    Barnet 0-2 Fleetwood

A long ball from Barnet keeper Owen Evans almost lets substitute Callum Stead in but the ball runs away from him and goes through to Fleetwood's Jay Lynch.

This match is drifting away from Barnet.

  15. Postpublished at 16:45 British Summer Time 2 August

    Plymouth Argyle 1-2 Barnsley

The 10 men come so close to putting this one to bed but Luca Ashby-Hammond makes a super stop to deny Jonathan Bland a third goal for the away team.

A few more goals from around the grounds to bring you up to speed in League Two.

Harrogate Town have taken the lead at recently relegated Bristol Rovers thanks to Stephen Duke-McKenna's 63rd minute strike.

Grimsby have extended their lead to 3-0 against another one of last season's relegated sides Crawley Town following Evan Khousi's goal and Swindon Town have equalised against 10-man Walsall following Will Wright's penalty.

Accrington Stanley and Gillingham is now 1-1. Stanley had led thanks to Tyler Walton but Devon Matthews' own goal has restored the Gills' parity at The Wham Stadium.

  17. Postpublished at 16:41 British Summer Time 2 August

    MK Dons 0-0 Oldham

As I said some time ago these two teams are back in action after summer breaks of very different lengths.

MK Dons ended the 2024-25 season on 3 May, while Oldham's final game was on 1 June.

Nothing between them in terms of goals so far though.

It's now 10 v 10 at the New York Stadium as hosts Rotherham have had Zak Jules sent off for a second yellow card.

It will surely give Port Vale a huge lift as they continue to chase the game at 2-1 down with just over 10 minutes left.

Meanwhile, Northampton have pulled a goal back to make it 3-1 against Wigan Athletic, while Mansfield have set up a tense finish at the Pirelli Stadium after Baily Cargill's 76th minute header made it 2-1 against Burton.

  19. 'Barnsley are hanging on'published at 16:40 British Summer Time 2 August

    Plymouth Argyle 1-2 Barnsley

    Andy Giddings
    Sports Editor, BBC Sheffield

The 10 men of Barnsley are hanging on here.

It's been quite a frenetic game for most part, it's been played at a good pace.

  20. GREAT SAVE!published at 16:37 British Summer Time 2 August

    Bradford 2-1 Wycombe

Mikki van Sas have come up with the save of the day for Wycombe Wanderers, surely.

Stephen Humphrys get on the end of a cross from Tommy Leigh, but Van Sas springs into action to keep the shot from point-blank range out.
